    Get PDF
Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is a method tomonitor and improve the efficiency of manufacturing processes.OEE is broken down into three measuring metrics; availability, performance, and quality. The aim of this research is to usethese metrics to benchmark the efficiency and effectiveness, andcategorize the key productivity losses that occur within apharmaceutical production plant. During the research, OEE ismeasured by using different devices and monitored in packagingdepartment of the plant. After that, data were analysed topropose different correction and improvement actions. Resultshave shown many problems that cause deterioration in OEE,such as using improper production parameters. By adoptingsome corrective actions, an OEE enhancement has been obtainedand losses have been reduced

    Get PDF
In order to introduce spicy taste ratings of Chilipepper(powdered) and Kimchi, many kinds of products incirculation were selected as specimens and the correlation of thesensory taste results and capsaicinoids contents were analyzed. When compared the spicy taste levels(capsaicinoids) of specimenswith their sensory test results, they were found that capsaicinoidscontent(capsaicin and dihydrocapsaicin) and sensory test resultshad a high correlation (R2) at more than 0.9 in HPLC analyzingmethod.Categorizing the pungency of the Chili pepper(powdered) intofive levels best reflected the status of Chili pepper products onthe market(mild hot, slight hot, medium hot, very hot, extremehot), while the Kimchi into three levels reflected the status ofKimchi products on the market(mild hot, medium hot, very hot).capsaicinoids contents of five levels in Chili pepper(powdered)were less than 150 mg/kg, 150~300 mg/kg, 300~500 mg/kg,500~1,000 mg/kg and more than 1,000 mg/kg. capsaicinoidscontents of three levels in Kimchi were less than 4 mg/kg, 4~12mg/kg, and more than 12 mg/kg

Biodiversity, Conservation of Some Medicinal Plants of Katsina State Nigeria

    Get PDF
The medicinal values of some plants are identified bythe indigenous people. The indigenous people are generally veryknowledgeable about the wild medicinal plants around them, many of which have local names and are important to the peoplemedically. This traditional knowledge is best starting point foreffective in situ conservation, which requires accurate and up todate information on the status of medicinal plants populations, the extent and nature of plants used by local communities andthe capacity of the resources base to support different economicactivities. This knowledge can be used in the evolution and increation of the awareness of the importance of medicinal plantsas it is generally easier for the public to relate the culturalsignificance than the result of scientific trials. This may not beunconnected with the relatively high cost of conventionalpharmaceutical drugs, inaccessibility of orthodox medicinalservice to a vast majority of people particularly in the rural areasprevalence of fake, substandard or counterfeit drugs in themarket and the problem of anti- biotic resistance whichis verycommon in developing countries. It has been noted that in thelast few decades, there has been an upsurge in the circulation andusage of traditional medicinal plants in the treatment and orpreservation of disease. An understanding of the many aspects ofhuman influence on biodiversity and the underlying drivingforces of the influence is of crucial importance for settingpriorities and directing efforts towards conservation andsustainable use

Applying Driver’s Aggressiveness to Employee’s Behavior: a Tournament Theory Approach

    Get PDF
This study explores if employee’s behavior can beexplained through comparison with stock car drivers, applyingthe tournament theory to drivers aggressiveness. As strategichuman resources management demands precision tools to explainthe staff effort input, it is expected to demonstrate the robustnessof the theory to human resources area. Thereby it was used amultinomial logistic regression model to calculate the impact ofqualitative and quantitative variables to contestantsaggressiveness. As expected, the comparison is possible due tosimilar human behavior in different contexts, as a resultvalidating the research hypothesis and proposing a valid logicalapproximation of stock car drivers to employees

    Get PDF
In this conference paper integrated passive andactive morphing methodology is used on tactical unmannedaerial vehicles (TUAVs) in order to maximize autonomous flightperformance. For this drive dynamic modeling of TUAVsproduced in Erciyes University Faculty of Aeronautics andAstronautics Model Aircraft Laboratory is followed in order toget state-space models and a simulation model. This TUAVcalled as ZANKA-III is 50 kg, has range of around 3000 km,endurance of around 28 h, and ceiling altitude of around 12500m. Von-Karman turbulence modeling is benefited in order tomodel atmospheric turbulence in simulation environment. Astochastic optimization method namely simultaneousperturbation stochastic approximation (i.e. SPSA) is applied inorder to get optimum morphing parameters (e.g. assemblyposition of tailplane to fuselage and extension ratio of wingspan)

Untypical Solution for a Prestressed Concrete Structures Inside The Hotel Building

    Get PDF
In currently designed buildings, it is often necessary tolocate large space, free of support, in the lower floors witha completely different structural system of higher floors. Ina currently implemented design for the hotel building, theauthors of the design have proposed a prestressed concretestructural system consisting of two slabs and reinforced concretewalls as webs. As a result, they have obtained the system similarto the one used in bridge buildings. The study presents designplans, discusses the problems encountered, presents the designparameters adopted and the results of static and strengthanalysis of selected elements of the load-bearing system. Based onthe results and experiences drawn from the design, appropriateconclusions have been drawn

Study of Biological System using Heat Transfer Equations

    Get PDF
A simplified one-dimensional bioheat transfer model of the spherical living tissues in the steady state has been set up for application in heat transfer studies based on the Pennes’ bioheat transfer equation and its corresponding analytical solution by using Bessel’s equation has been derived in this paper. The obtained analytical solution is applied to analyze the effects of the metabolic heat generation, the tissue thermal conductivity, the blood perfusion and the coefficient of heat transfer on the temperature distribution in living tissues. A further parametric analysis has been made to reveal the tumour size, hyperactivity rate and location based on the temperature distribution profile. The results show that the derived analytic solution is useful to easily and accurately study the thermal behaviour of the biological system, and can be extended to thermal behaviour research of biological system, thermal parameter measurements, temperature field reconstruction and clinical treatment

The Role of E-Security in the Success of the EStore With Reference To UAE Customers

    Get PDF
E-customers love to do online shopping, but free from risk and danger over the internet ie., protection of information & system resources with respect to confidentiality, integrity and authentication. The confidentiality ensures that the nonaccess of information by unauthorized persons, integrity ensures that the non-alteration of information by unauthorized persons in a way, non-detectable information by authorized users and authentication ensures that the users are persons they claim to be. Even though all the security features are installed, 85% of the e-customers say e-shopping is safe. The remaining 15% felt that e-shopping is unsafe. This is due to fear of loss of money, non-deliverance of goods, probability of misusing of credit cards, stealing of personal information gives the negative impact. These 15% of the users from the samples, felt unsafe, there are many retail shoppers doesn’t want to do e-shopping just because of e-security issues. The objective of this paper is twofold: one is to analyse the major factors influencing e-shoppers attitudes towards e-security and another objective is to frame a E-Security Model Check to enlighten the e-customers before proceeding for e-shopping. To analyse the major e-security factors influencing e-shoppers, the samples has been taken from UAE residents. The result reveals that even premium loyalty customer are much worried about the security factors. The E-Security Model Check has been developed to strengthen the e-security shopping

OST (Eisenberger et al., 1986; Rhoades & Eisenberger, 2002; Shore & Shore, 1995) holds that the formation of POS is encouraged by employees’ tendency to assign the organization human like characteristics (Eisenberger et al., 1986; Rhoades & Eisenberger, 2002; Shore & Shore, 1995). Burnout is a reaction to stress and job-related demands in the work place (Raiger, 2005: 72; Halbesleben and Demerouti, 2005: 208; Lee et al., 201: 405; Salmela-Aro et al., 2009: 163; Oliviera et al., 2011: 177). Burnout is analysed in one composite general burnout measure consisting of three dimensions namely, emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and reduced personal accomplishment. Emotional exhaustion refers to the deplation of emotional resources of person. Depersonalisation refers maintaining a remote and negative attitude towards one’s collegues and disregard ind them. And lastly reduced personal accomplishment means considering oneself negative and inadequate in regard to job performance (Evers, et al., 2004: 132; Raiger, 2005: 72). The aim of this study was to examine the effect of perceived organisational support on burnout. Besides it was investigated the effect of perceived organisational support on the dimensions of burnout. Data were collected from 103 health workers who are working in a private older people health caring home. Maslach Burnout Inventory was used to assess the burnout level. To assess the perceived organisational support was used measure developed by Eisenberg et al., (1986)
