Key Performance Indicators in the Process of Performance Evaluation Selected Approaches
Performance management at individual level requires a systematic approach for evaluating the work and expectations, supporting such efforts of employees by providing evaluation and feedback in the form of the subsequent implementation of the appropriate corrections, while rewarding. One of the strategic assessment tools of performance management in organizations are key performance indicators (KPI) and the underlying assumption that the selected indicators can be measured or quantified. However, the fundamental problem of any performance measurement system is it´s correct assessment. Based on this interpretation, the aim of the article is to analyze the statistically significant association between the application of performance evaluation methods in terms of the degree of KPIs implementation in organizations. For the purposes of assessing the afore mentioned relationship we have specified a set of fourteen most used evaluation methods which were then subjected to testing by Chi-square test of independence, which has been applied. To simplify and reduce the original amount of data, while maintaining a substantial part of the information, the analysis applied the multivariate statistical method of factor analysis. The research sample consists of small, medium and large organizations operating at the local, but also multinational level. The examined relationship was verified. Based on this, it can be stated that we need KPIs to make a complex picture of what organizations really need and how to achieve the set objectives
Sentiment Ranking for Opinion Extraction by Weighted Feature Scheme
Abstract— Sentiment Analysis is the analysis of emotions and opinions in a given text using Natural Language Processing. It helps in understanding the user attitude and feelings by analyzing reviews/comments posted by people through social media, blogs etc. Internet availability has given us an easier way of accessing the information and expressing our opinions on various topics or products. These reviews are of immense importance to the targeted organization since they largely affect the outlook of the organization. People tend to consider these reviews when purchasing or using a product. This paper aims to analyze the user's sentiment in the form of free text by extracting the opinionated or sentiment words from the sentences using various techniques. They are further classified into positive or negative sentiment words and are grouped under various categories using a sentiment dictionary based on which every word will be assigned a weight. The major refinement in the proposed system is the estimation of different feature weights for evaluation of overall sentiment score and this increases the accuracy by a huge margin. The average of all the values is computed and the review is rated on a scale of 1 to 5 indicating the sentiment of the user. The sentiment score in addition to providing the user feedback also gives us an insight into the various features and helps an enterprise to focus on improving the below average features to boost the product on the whole
Architectural Design against Crime Toward Crime Prevention through Modern Environmental Design
Abstract— There is no doubt that provision of security and safety is from the main objectives of the new urban planning, due to its impact on the individual and society, because of that the architects try to solve this problem throw an environmental design which called crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED). We will discuss in this study the design strategies for this way of design starting from the single family homes passing throw all neighborhood's units tell we reach to the economic and industrial buildings. We will discuss too some exterior and interior physical security procedures, modern technologies used to protect people against intruders, the procedures of the government to secure residential areas and how can the architecture help them doing their work. After finishing the design and implementation procedures, we list some of CPTED implementation benefits and problems, and offer some additional recommendations for people who will live in these places to enhance their feeling with safety and security.
We find after consider all CPTED design benefits that it offer more safe and beautiful place for people to live in and it reduce the total cost of buildings since it use saving lighting system, building material and we will need less amount of physical security systems (CCTV, EAC,..) which are very expensive. The researcher taking into his account a lot of CPTED principals during design Future City project to make safe and secure city
Electrical and Structural Properties of PVDF/Mgo (7%) Nanocomposites Thin Films at Various Annealing Temperatures
Abstract—Poly (vinylideneflouride)/nano-magnesium oxide (PVDF/MgO) film with 7% MgO loading percentage was annealed at various annealing temperatures ranging from 70°C to 150°C. The PVDF/MgO thin film was fabricated using spin coating technique with a metal-insulator-metal (MIM) configuration. The dielectric and electric properties of PVDF/MgO with respect to annealing temperatures was studied. The PVDF/MgO nanocomposites thin films annealed at temperature of 70°C (AN70-PVDF/MgO) showed an improvement in the properties; dielectric constant value of 26 at 1 kHz frequency compared to un-annealed sample (UN-PVDF/MgO), which is 21 at the same frequency. As the annealing temperatures were increased from 90°C (AN90) to 150°C (AN150-PVDF/MgO), the dielectric constant values were found to gradually decreased from 25 to 12 respectively, which was lower than the UN-PVDF/MgO thin films. AN70-PVDF/MgO also produced relatively low tangent loss (tan δ). The resistivity value of AN70-PVDF/MgO was also found to increase from 3.08x104 Ω.cm (UN- PVDF/MgO) to 4.55x104 Ω.cm. The increased in the dielectric constant, with low tangent loss and high resistivity value suggests that 70°C was the favorable annealing temperature for PVDF/MgO film suitable for the application in electronic devices such as low frequency capacitor
Geophysical Investigation of Groundwater Level Using Vertical Electrical Sounding (A Case Study of Ewu in Edo State Nigeria)
In this research work, four Vertical Electrical Soundings (VES) were carried out in Ewu Town at various locations: Eguare-Ewu, Idunwele-Ewu, Flour Mill Road-Ewu and Eko-Ewu using the ABEM terrameter, by employing the Schlumberger electrode configuration system to determine the level of groundwater. From the analysis of field data and results of computer iteration, a maximum of four geoelectric layers were obtained. The first layer of geoelectric section was the lateritic top soil with thickness of 1.21m and 11.1m, for VES 1 and VES 2, with apparent resistivity of 438 ohm m and 183 ohm m. The possible aquiferous zone for sustaining groundwater are within the second and third layers for VES 1 and the fourth layer for VES 2, at a depth of 2.67m to 47m and infinity respectively. The apparent resistivity of the aquiferous layers of VES 1 and VES 2 are 797 ohm m and 362 ohm m respectively, which is fine sand layer. The apparent resistivity of the aquiferous layers of VES 3 and VES 4 are 5511 ohm m and 129 ohm m respectively with infinity thickness

Result Prediction Using K-Nearest Neighbor Algorithm For Student Performance Improvement
Abstract—The examination results have become an integral part of every student’s life. The educational institution’s ranking is greatly influenced by the university results. This paper mainly focuses on the prediction of a student’s university result by making use of different attributes. These attributes might be of quantitative and qualitative type. The quantitative attributes used are Internal Assessments, Attendance percentage, Number of On-Duties taken and Overall Assignments completed. The qualitative attributes include Subject feedback, Faculty feedback, and whether the student is a Day Scholar/Hosteller. Here, we make use of k-Nearest Neighbor algorithm (or k-NN for short) against the historical data of students for more accurate prediction of results. In this method all the attributes considered are converted to the same scale. This algorithm makes use of the Euclidean distance formula which is used to find the nearest record. This algorithm predicts better results which help students maximize their academic output
Largely Scalable Wireless Network Formation Architectures for Internet of Things
As number of mobile devices increases with Internet of Things (IoT) capability and power consumption is important in multi hop communication, there is need of considering network formation architectures inIoT networks. In this work power levels of nodes, urgency of messages to be transmitted are not taken into consideration, a general approach considered with all nodes with same power levels and no priority for messages to be sent.Another assumption is all nodes are on the same 2D plane. Multi hop wireless network architectures studied and scalable, best performing architecture which is hypercubic network architecture is highlighted for IoT networks. Especially for large number of nodes needs to be considered hypercubic architecture performs much better than mesh, tree and ring kind of architectures in terms of dilation and number of connections. The simulation results are based on a simulator developed on C++ program. The results are showed that Hypercubic architecture with logarithmic dilation is much better than other network types. Cube Connected Cycles (CCC)based network architecture (which is derivative of Hypercube) can be preferred, especially when a constant degree is needed, in communication technologies such as Bluetooth. As a future work, a network architecture study can be made which takes energy levels and urgency of messages to be sent
Affecting Factors Titanium Oxide of Nanoparticles for the Electrical Effect on Insulation Resistance of the Transformer Oil
In most cases, The electrical insulation of the transformer oil will be exposed to different internal problems, such as short circuit , over voltage, over load, over excitation and etcetera. The insulation of transformer will be sever decreased into minimum value. This requires some treatments of oil liquid ,such as refining or replacing the damaged oil with a new, which is a very expensive process. In this paper, the Insulation Resistance (IR) of transformer oil will be enhanced by using nanoparticles NPs. Titanium oxide (TiO2) one of them, which will be used in this experiment. The (NPs) improve the insulation, physical and chemical properties of transformer oil. The breakdown voltage will be tested for pure oil and after the addition (TiO2) according to IEC standard methods. The results of this study indicated that addition of TiO2 in certain quantities of pure oils can be affected the Insulation Resistance (IR) and electrical breakdown voltage. A comparative study was conducted to identify the effects of using nanoparticles in pure transformer oils to ensure their effect on electrical Insulation Resistance (IR). The results are indicated an increasing in the breakdown voltage and the dissipation factor of the transformer oil, thus results using nanoparticles oil higher than pure oil
