    TRAFFICKING IN HUMAN BEINGS

Trafficking in human beings, also known as slavery in modern times, is a serious crime as well as a violation of fundamental human rights and dignity. The purpose of trafficking is to exploit vulnerable persons for the sole purpose of profit. Every state is affected in some form or form of trafficking in human beings. The term "modern form of slavery" can also be found in the literature and practice of some countries; a term used to raise awareness of what trafficking may look like to people who are uninformed. There are still many myths about trafficking one of them is that trafficking only happens internationally and that the international element of the trafficking offense is qualifying. In fact, although many cases of trafficking in human beings involve an international element, where the victim is taken from one state to another and exploited there, trafficking also occurs within the territory of the same state and is known as "internal trafficking". Trafficking in human beings is a serious crime and above all a violation of dignity and fundamental human rights. Considering it as such, the awareness as well as the attention of the state and the whole society towards the prevention and uncompromising fight against trafficking in human beings has recently increased; hitting on the phenomenon, identifying cases, investigating, prosecuting and bringing to justice all perpetrators of the crime of trafficking in human beings. The UN Protocol to Prevent, Eliminate and Punish Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children, 2000, known as the Palermo Protocol, Article 3 states that: Trafficking in human beings means the recruitment, transportation, transfer, accommodation or support of persons, through threats or by use of force or various forms of coercion, kidnapping, lying, abuse of power or powerlessness, giving or receiving money or benefits, with the intent to gain the consent of any person who has control to any other person, for the needs of exploitation. A number of international documents and conventions constitute the legal basis for the drafting of adequate legislation against trafficking in human beings and the protection of human rights, such as: the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and of Fundamental Freedoms and its Protocols, Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAE), UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Keywords: trafficking in human beings, victims, international legislation on victims' rights, Universal Declaration of Human Rights, CEDAE

TREATMENT OF RENAL OSTEODYSTROPHY IN PATIENTS WITH TERMINAL CHRONIC FAILURE TREATED WITH CHRONIC HEMODIALIZATION

Renal osteodystrophy (ROD) presents a mineral-bone disorder as a consequence of mineral imbalance and bone metabolism that often occurs in patients with terminal chronic renal failure. Changes in uremic patients are manifested by ostalgias, phosphocalcemic pseudogout, muscle pain, frequent calcifications in soft tissues, calcifying phenomena, osteoporosis, osteitisfibrosis, amyloidosis, metabolic acidosis, which are frequent occurrences in patients with End-stage renal failure (ESRD) (Jürgen Floege, Richard F. et al.). The most important factors in the occurrence of ROD are: reduced elimination of urinary phosphorus with hyperphosphaturia, with increased concentration of phosphate in the blood (hyperphosphatemia), vitamin D deficiency, hypocalcemia and increased parathyroid hormone (PTH). (Gutierrez O, Isakova T, Rhee E, et. al.). Objectives of ROD treatment in patients with terminal chronic renal failure CTRF treated with chronic hemodialysis (HD) are: maintaining blood calcium and phosphorus levels as close to normal as possible, prevention of the development of hyperplasia and secretion of parathyroid hormone (PTH), prevention of extraskeletal calcium deposition and preventing the accumulation of aluminum and iron that can adversely affect the skeleton. Recently, the latest instructions of the foundation of K/DOQI (Kidney Disease Outcomes Quality Initiative) suggest 1,2 gr protein /kg body weight for patients with HD. More than 90% of patients on dialysis use phosphate binders (calcium carbonate, calcium acetate) to reduce the amount of phosphorus absorbed to reach normal levels of serum phosphorus from 3.5-4.5 mg / dl.PURPOSE: the paper aimed to document and verify the prevalence of ROD submission in patients with ESRD treated with chronic HD bicarbonate, with duration of HD treatment over 72 months and frequency three times a week from 4.5 hours randomized by gender, mean age, and nationality.MATERIAL AND METHODS: In the time-perspective study (cross-section) a total of 87 patients were involved (of which 42 (48%) with average age-55,00-10.00 old were female, while 45 (52%) were male with average age 12.00 years of 57.00) with ESRD treated with chronic HD with duration of HD treatment over 72 months and frequency three times a week from 4.5 hours with bicarbonate dialysis, with chronic HD over 96 months. To all patients were examined concentrations of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, alkaline phosphatase and parathyroid hormone (PTH). In patients who were noticed symptoms of ROD we also did radiological examination of the skeleton.STATISTICAL PROCESSING: from basic statistical methods were used: arithmetic mean value and standard deviation X ± SD. Comparative statistics of examined parameters was analyzed with the so-called Studentov test ‘t’. Statistical significance of differences between groups of patients was analyzed with the so-called “Anonova Two-Factor” test with statistical value for p less than 5%, respectively p <0.0005.CONCLUSION: Treatment of ROD should be started in the early stages of chronic renal failure in order to prevent later complications. The disease should be treated with medications of calcium, vitamin D, PTH, phosphorus, dietary supplements and dyalysate solutions with the right amount of calcium depending on the disease. Since ESRD is an irreversible disease (in the absence of kidney transplantation), the duration of therapy should be long-term to prevent further complications of ROD.Keywords: renal osteodystrophy (ROD), Enda Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), hemodialysis (HD)

    CHALLENGES IN PLURILINGUAL EDUCATION

Plurilingual education is considered as a natural development of our Early Childhood and Primary pupils or Secondary students in their progress towards a linguistic mastery in a second language learning. The relevance of certain aspects such as assessment, innovative approaches, trends, new proposals, as well as imitation (as basic learning method) are highlighted. Teaching through a plurilingual approach requires several conditions regarding training, curriculum and meaningfulness of language that are described and analised to offer some conclusions

BASIC ISSUES IN DERIVATIONAL MORPHOLOGY (SUFFIXES) CONTRASTIVE WITH ALBANIAN

The derivation or the origin of words is more productive in the system of word-formation. In descriptive linguistics and traditional grammar, the formation of a word it is made by changing the form of the base or by adding affixes to it –e.g. hope – hopeful, e.g. blerë – blerësit. With the word or the origin of the word we understand the formation of the new words or the words that exist in the language, it is a major source of new words in a language, and in historical linguistics, the derivation of a word is its history or saying better etymology. The derived origin of a word it’s made by prefix, suffix, prefix-suffix and without infixes. Our aim is to make an understandable presentation about derivational suffixes contrastive with those in the Albanian language. Keywords: derivation, English Grammar, Albanian Grammar, origin

    ITALIAN TRAVELERS IN ALBANIA

Albania has been visited by lots of foreign travellers ever since ancient times. The Balkan country’s strategic geographical position, as well its economic, political and social development over centuries have attracted the attention of foreign trekkers, both from neighbouring and distant countries. Travellers who visited Albanian-inhabited regions as diplomatic emissaries, religious missionaries, war strategists, special envoys, scientists, artists and so on, occasionally, also for mere travel purposes in order to visit exotic countries and peoples, left behind a legacy of quite impressive travel writings. Those kind of writings are not pure texts, from a genre (literary) viewpoint, accordingly, the same traveller, namely their travel writings, may be a study “property” of the historical, geographical, literary, ethnographical sciences, among others. On the other hand, descriptions in the travel writings feature the traveller’s own personal experiences, thus, unfolding them through the traveller’s subjective and fictional prism. The subject matter of travel writings is also quite important nowadays to Albanians due to the mere character of historical information that travellers impart, having known and understood Albania and the Albanian society first-hand, and also from the viewpoint of shaping Albania’s image in the eyes of foreigners. The research was triggered by Udhëtarët e huaj në Shqipëri (gjer në fund të shek. XIX) [Foreign travellers to Albania) (until the end of XIX century], a book written by Albanian author Lumo Skëndo (also known as Mit'hat Frashëri), whose publication was prepared by Albanians scholars L. Malltezi and Sh. Delvina, Tirana, 1999. Intending to further enrich and complement that publication, this research paper targets to create a typology of travels undertaken by Italians who visited Albania, from the earliest treks on record until 1912, when Albania declared its independence after almost five centuries under Ottoman rule. Keywords: Albania, Italian travellers, traveller’s texts, typology
