As for the background, there was not only people's discontent with the government, but also an economic instability made worth by the Asian currency crisis that started in Thailand in July, 1997. Under the presidency of Soeharto, the middle class grew, but, ironically, it was the young people of this class who were the main leaders of the revolutionary movement. The revolution was a big step in the democratization process, which has continued progressing since then. Regional Newspaper Reports on the Hostage Case in Peru and Regional Understanding of Peru
The hostage case that occurred at the Japanese Ambassador's official residence in Peru in December 1996 and lasted for 127 days was so sensational that it occupied considerable space in Japanese newspapers for many days. The positive aspect of this phenomenon was contributing to newspaper readers' accumulation of knowledge about Peru. However, we should pay attention to the fact that the newspaper reports related to this issue were not necessarily enough to provide an objective regional understanding of Peru. This paper discusses the image formation of Peru through the Japanese regional newspaper reports on the extraordinary case which took place in Peru.14KJ00000202963研究論文GENERAL STUDYjournal articl

Characteristics of the Regional Industry Structure in Tokushima Prefecture
The aim of this paper is to clarify the structure and function of the regional industry as regards production, the amount of commercial sales, and the agricultural income of each of the cities, towns and villages. The result of the analysis is as follows : 1. Population gravitates toward Tokushima City and its neighboring cities, towns and villages. As for the population movement for employment, many people find their jobs in Tokushima City and its outskirts. 2. As for agricultural production, there are highly productive cities, towns and villages along the lower reaches of the Yoshinogawa River and the Nakagawa River. 3. As for the consignment of products and the total amount of commercial sales, the ratio is very high in cities, towns and villages in the eastern parts along the Coast, as well as Kamojima Town, Waki Town and Ikeda Town, which are all located along the basin of the Yoshinogawa River. 4. From what I Mentioned above, I conclude that the structure of regional industry in Tokushima Prefecture forms a T-shaped pattern, which is made up of the axis zone from Naruto City to Anan City (North-South axis) and the axis zone from Tokushima City to Ikeda Town (East-West), with Tokushima City as its point of contact.11KJ00000202961研究論文GENERAL STUDYjournal articl
