Revolution of the Production System Aimed at the New Generation - the Cooperative System between Productivity and Humanity seen in an Automobile Industry
Since the nineteen-eighties, the manufacturing industries in our country, especially the automobile industries, have been keeping up development by the mighty competitive force, owing to the establishment and application of the Lean production system, which is exemplified by the Toyota Production System. However, the automobile industries in our country are presently faced with a major turning point through these developing period for past twenty years. In the twenty-first century, it will be necessary to construct a new production system balanced between productivity and humanity, and the environment. In this paper, I would like to discuss these themes at present and for the future, paying attention to the recent revolution of production systems in the automobile industry under the above-mentioned conditions.7KJ00000202983研究論文GENERAL STUDYjournal articl
Brazilian Economy in the 1990's : bringing the Real Plan into focus
The author visited Brazil from February to March 1999 for the first time since his last stay in 1991-93, in order to evaluate the changes of recent years and the resulting present situation there. He found the heartwarming atmosphere of the Brazilian society unchanged, but was greatly distressed that the economic situation was growing worse despite the five-year currency stabilizing program which started with the Real Plan in July 1994. A substantial devaluation of the Real occurred in January 1999 and the return of inflation was feared imminent, but could hardly take place because of a sharp business depression. Brazilian people continue to face economic hardship after the so-called "lost decade" of the 1980's. But the Real Plan, which has lasted longer than any former currency plans since 1985, is a successful economic policy, providing the possibility of an economic recovery and, at the same time, highlighting the difficulty of this issue.11KJ00000202986研究論文GENERAL STUDYjournal articl
On Maximal Betti numbers of Gorenstein Rings with a Unimodal Hilbert Function
In these notes we shall state some results in Sections 6~8 of [7] which was a joint work with Professors A. V. Geramita and Y. S. Shin. We are interested in an extremality for graded Betti numbers among Artinian Gorenstein graded rings with a fixed unimodal Hilbert function.12KJ00000202987研究論文GENERAL STUDYjournal articl
Remark on Kantorovich theorem and Urabe's theorem
Theoretical theorems are usually discussed on the real number system. But, in numerical computation, such system has to be approximated by real number system of a rather special type such as fixed point number system or floating point number system. Hence, when we discuss the theoretical theorems in numerical analysis, we must take care of their numerical properties.5KJ00000202994研究論文GENERAL STUDYjournal articl
THE HISTORICAL CHANGES OF JAPANESE QUALITY CONTROL AND TRENDS AND TASKS OF QUALITY ISSUES
TQC (Total Quality Control), the features of Japanese QC (Japanese Quality Control; JQC), is forced to change now. There are many problems related to the QC field, such as magnification of quality objects, social quality, thoroughness of CS (Customer Satisfaction), enforcement of PL (Product Liability) law, applications of ISO (International Organization for Standardization) standards concerning the QA (Quality Assuranse) system and the environmental management system, and still the more recent American industrial tendency which attaches importance to TQM (Total Quality Management) and so forth, On the 50th anniversary of JQC, I would like to look back upon its QC history and discuss the meaning of the recent changes in QC concepts and the theoretical framework of JQC.5KJ00000202970研究論文GENERAL STUDYjournal articl
A Consideration on Global Competence of Japanese Software Industries
This paper presents irregularities of the Japanese software paradigm that the author recognized when he was engaged in a switching system development project and thus in competiton with some of the main switching system venders in the world. First, the current competence status of Japanese software industries is described and five aspects are summarized. Then, dominant factors of these irregularities are considered and the following reasons are analyzed : cultural back ground, features of the software order forms, and academic achievement appraisal aspect of software activities.4KJ00000202969研究論文GENERAL STUDYjournal articl
The role of graduate school in a center city of prefecture
This paper discusses the results of a questionnaire on the role of graduate school (night school) in a center city of prefecture. The questionnaire adrressed mayors and government officials in Tokushima prefecture. Participants expect much from such a graduate school, but the most important problem is whether the graduate school provides an attractive and unique lecture program system or not.7KJ00000202972研究論文GENERAL STUDYjournal articl
A Study on the Relationship between the Concept of Care and Knowledge Creation : Focussing on Krogh's Theory
This article introduces the concept of "Ba" to the organizational theory and that of "Care" to the knowledge creation process. Care is something most human beings heed and is defined as serious attention, a feeling of concern and interest. Care gives rise to trust, active empathy, lenient judgement and also translates into real help. Organizational relationships range from high-care to low-care. Depending on the extent to which care is present, the knowledge-creation process will differ considerably. In view of this, I argue that to support wledge-creation, a foundation in "Ba" is required, and care must be the core of the Ba generation (ie : industrial cluster in Japan, Italy and America such as Keihin district, Packaging Valley and Silicon Valley) through the building of trust.3KJ00000202968研究論文GENERAL STUDYjournal articl
Height Detection Method Using JERS-I/OPS and RADARSAT/SAR on the Sanuki Mountains
This paper will discuss a terrain analysis method using two kinds of remotely sensed data, namely JERS-I/OPS and RADARSAT/SAR which is designed to improve accuracy. There have been many developments in terrain analysis using remotely sensed data. Most of them have employed obtained by two optical sensors. But the data has been influenced by weather conditions because the earth's surface could not be observed through cloud cover. Recently, CCRS launched RADARSAT which had a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) adapted with many incidence angles and spatial resolutions. Using SAR, we can observe the earth surface independently of weather conditions because the sensor can produce radiating electromagnetic waves automatically. However, the accuracy of the results using SAR data was not sufficient because some information was lost due to layover, which is a special phenomenon of SAR. Therefore, I propose a terrain analysis method using OPS and SAR for making use of the advantages of the two sensors and applying the method to real data.9KJ00000202974研究論文GENERAL STUDYjournal articl
On Conditions of Starting and Promoting Local Industry in the Southern Part of Tokushima Prefecture
The area in and around Anan City is a place where local business has developed in the southern part of Tokushima Prefecture. This area was appointed by the central government as a new industrial city in 1963. As for this area planninng included an oil complex was planned where a salt field used to be in Ohgata, a base of iron and steel industry a Ushirodo, and a coastal industrial zone along Tachibana Bay, respectively by using water for industrial use from the Nakagawa River. This project, however, except for developing land for industry, was not realized because of the first and second oil shocks. But in the latter half of the 1980's, some companies from Tokushima Prefecture, but not from other prefectures, built their buildings in the above-mentioned place. In 1999, an electric power station, which is being built on an island called Kokatsujima, is expected to commerce production. In this report, I examined some problems which new business will face in the course of its startup and development by taking up for study the southern part of Tokushima Prefecture, where conditions for starting new business are being fulfilled, and by analyzing the process of its start and development.6KJ00000202971研究論文GENERAL STUDYjournal articl
