An Introduction to Information Maul in Korea
Get PDFThe purpose of information is to improve the quality of life in society. However, the possibility of an information gap seems to have widened with the development of information and communication technology. In this regard, the government efforts to eliminate the digital divide are important in reducing the information gap. The Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs, part of the central government of Korea, started the 「Information Maul」 plan as a means of eliminating the digital divide. Some Expatiations and Examinations of the Articles on the Economic Development of Mezzogiorno written in the 1950s (3)
Get PDFThe 1950s were the crucial period for the economic development of Mezzogiorno. In 1950, three laws concerning land reform were promulgated, and agrarian reform and modernization began to be implemented. In the same year, the Cassa per il Mezzogiorno (the state fund for the South) was set up. A great number of scholars, journalists, essayists and politicians participated in the discussions of the questioni meridionali (the southern questions) and made public their opinions in magazines and newspapers. This paper aims to expatiate and examine the then current articles. They are different from statistics or academic research. They convey to us both the enthusiasm and the desperation of the discussants who witnessed the southern situation. These articles were collected meticulously in Informazioni SVIMEZ which Associazione per lo sviluppo dell' industria del Mezzogiorno has continued to publish since its foundation in December 1946. On the necessity of legal protection of electronic publishing of the classics in text form
Get PDFUnder the present Japanese copyright law, any protection is not given to those who, by studying minutely the original texts, present to the public the clearly and exactly revised texts and those who put them into the network. Considering this situation, this paper aims to expound the rationale of inserting into the present system of copyright law the new rules to protect, though in this case in much shorter term than in the case of general copyright, the rights of the revisers and those of the specialists who put the efforts of the revisers into the computer. The Theory of Ideology and False Consciousness
Get PDFThe sociology of knowledge, as developed by Karl Mannheim, has become one of the important areas of research in the social sciences. The problem in Mannheim's sociology is the relevance of the values embodied in the social structures in knowledge. Mannheim was interested in the question of the cognitive value of ideology. At the same time he regarded ideologies as important because they contribute to a political orientation. Mannhein remarks that in the discussion of ideology the concept is used in two senses : particular ideology and total ideology. His total concept of ideology is close that of Marx's false consciousness. Webmail Server Operation and its Influence on Computer Literacy Education

The system makes it possible to use e-mail easily without an initial configuration. There are some kinds of webmail server software. Using free software, we can construct a webmail system without expenses. On the other hand, information technology is advancing quickly. The IT-ization of everyday life is progressing. Therefore, all students need basic computer literacy for their lives. However, the difference between student's computer literacy is growing. Thus, computer literacy education becomes more difficult each year. In this paper, I investigate the operation of a webmail server and how it influences computer literacy education. The lmprovement of Schoo1 Facilities with PFI : Dynamic Changes in Population Structure are considered
Get PDFIn 1999,the Law of Private Finance Initiative (PFI) was implemented in Japan. It aims at making infrastructure development more efficient and transparent through market mechanisms. Actions of private companies tend to be more economical, effective and efficient than those seen in the case of the public sector. And they also invest in more risky projects for social capital. This is a so-called PFI. After five years, the number of PFIs reached ISS.They are mostly - i.e. in 25% of all PFI-cases in Japan-used for school facilities improvement. The question is if PFIs can be considered an effective way to develop infrastructure. As an example, I analyze a PFI plan whose target is the improvement of Tokushima Municipal High School. An Introduction to Error-Correcting Codes
Get PDFThis paper presents the outlines of elementary error-correcting codes. The first section is an introductory representation. The Hamming weight and the Hamming distance are fundamental measurs for linear codes. They are introduced in the second section. Examples of Hamming single-error-detecting code, single-error-correcting code, and double-error-detecting code are illustrated in Table 2.1,2.3 and 2.4. respectively The third section provides the fundamental theories of finite groups, finite rings, Garois fields, vector spaces and matrixes. These mathematics are indispensable to the theories of error-correcting linear codes. If U is a linear code, and is also closed under the cyclic shift, then it is called a cyclic code. Examples of an encoding circuit and of a decoding circuit are illustrated in Fig.4.1 and Fig.4.2 respectively of the fourth section. In the fifth section, burst-error-correcting codes are investigated in some detail. Fig.5 shows the code-point-distribution on the (g, r) plane.
