Misbah M, Aulia JP, Maharani M, Widhiastuti E, Putri VMW, Ardila S, Tanbiyaskur T. 2021. Potency of lemongrass stem extract (Cymbopogon citratus) for fish treatment from edwarsiella tarda bakteri bacteria. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-9 Tahun 2021, Palembang 20 Oktober 2021. pp. 314-319. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The high demand for fishery products has resulted in cultivators implementing intensive and even super intensive cultivation systems. The intensification of fish farming is characterized by an increase in stocking density followed by an increase in the use of artificial feed which has the potential to become waste and cause disease. To overcome this, alternative actions that are safer and also effective for controlling fish diseases are needed. One alternative is to use herbal plants that are anti-bacterial. By using herbal plants, it will be safer, easier to obtain and also not pose a danger to the surrounding environment. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of lemongrass stem extract to treat bacterial disease in fish caused by Edwarsiella tarda. Some research results showed that Cymbopogon citratus extract is rich in benefits in herbal medicine. Cymbopogon citratus extract had antibacterial properties that could inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria in fish. Phytochemical test results, lemongrass extract contained secondary metabolites such as alkaloids, steroids, terpenoids, phenolics or tannins or flavonoids and saponins. Based on the results of in vitro tests on lemongrass stem extract, it was able to inhibit the growth of Edwarsiella tarda bacteria where the inhibition zone formed after the media was incubated for 24 hours with a size of 21 mm. This proved that lemongrass stem extract can inhibit the growth of Edwarsiella tarda bacteria based on the results of the inhibition test

Saidi BB, Purnama H, Hendri J, Firdaus F, Minsyah NI.  2021. Lebak swamp land optimization supports rice production in Batanghari Jambi Regency. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-9 Tahun 2021, Palembang  20 Oktober 2021. pp. 58-71. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Lebak swamp land is a swamp that is affected by the presence of inundation with a duration of inundation of more than 3 months and inundation height of more than 50 cm. The potential of lebak swamps for the development of rice farming is very large. The area of lebak swamp land in Batanghari Regency is 4,033 ha. In order to support the Land Optimization Program to increase rice production in Batanghari district, 2,500 ha of lebak swamp land has been established in 7 (seven) sub-districts, 21 villages. The study aims to: (1) provide information about the characteristics, potential, opportunities of lowland swamp land for agricultural development, and (2) provide direction and strategic steps for developing lowland swamp land in Batanghari Regency. The assessment will be carried out from July to August 2021. carried out using a survey method to collect primary data (characteristics of lebak swamp land) and secondary data (other supporting factors that influence the increase in rice production). The results of the study showed that the lowland swamp rice fields in Batanghari Regency were categorized as shallow lowland swamps, with alluvial soil types, namely undeveloped soils, formed from fine, coarse and organic alluvium materials. The results of the evaluation of land suitability for rice plants, the main limiting factors are the availability of oxygen (drainage), nutrient retention and nutrient availability, especially nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. For this reason, it is necessary to improve irrigation channels and manage land and nutrients (fertilization). The optimization of lebak swamp land management is very likely to be improved by increasing the cropping index (IP) from 100 to 200, introducing new, adaptive varieties, including Inpara3. increase farmers' income

Tingkat Serangan Larva Spodoptera frugiperda (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) pada Tanaman Jagung di Ketinggian Tempat yang Berbeda. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-9 Tahun 2021, Palembang 20 Oktober 2021. pp. 563-569.  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI). Corn (Zea mays L.) is a commodity that is widely cultivated in Indonesia. Cultivation is carried out in various areas, from the lowlands to the highlands. Cultivation of corn plants is inseparable from pest attacks, one of which is Spodoptera frugiperda (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae). The altitude of the place is not known with certainty with the influence of S. frugiperda attack. In terms of knowing the attack rate of S. frugiperda on corn was done by collecting data. Aim to find out how the effect of altitude on the level of attack S. frugiperda. From the results of the literature study showed that at altitude 1000 masl, the attack was categorized as high with a certain temperature range. The attack rate of S. frugiperda was also known to be influenced by climate and the presence of natural enemies in the ecosystem. So, it can be concluded that altitude didn't absolutely affect the attack of S. frugiperda on maize

Lakitan B. 2021. URBAN OLERICULTURE: Contribution to increase vegetable production for urban community. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-9 Tahun 2021, Palembang 20 Oktober 2021. pp. 1-10.  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Population increase directly affects food demand. Since the increase will be concentrated in urban area, this trend should be appropriately responded by intensifying urban agriculture activities. Urban agriculture characterized with limited availability of agricultural land but better infrastructure than rural area. Urban dwellers are also more prepared to adopt advanced agricultural technology and have better access to financial sources. Technology-wise, hydroponics and vertical agriculture have been practiced by urban farmers. Besides for food production, urban agriculture gives other benefits, including aesthetics and better quality of local environment. In major city, green wall and green roof have been developed at tall buildings. Vegetables and ornamental plants are the most commonly used in urban area. In some developed countries, indoor vegetable cultivation has been practiced using artificial lightings and large scale plant factories had employed automation system using artificial intelligence technology. Regardless of rapid development on agricultural technology, the selected technology for local application should consider availability of local natural resources and financial capacity of native farmers. Intensification of urban and peri-urban agricultural activities is not expected to fully meet total urban food demand. Therefore, conventional agriculture in rural area is still strongly needed
