Potentiality of information ethics： On the Role and Significance of Code of Ethics in Professional Ethics
Get PDF情報倫理は，当初コンピュータ技術の専門家のためのプロフェッショナル倫理が中心であった。プロフェッショナル倫理は情報技術の進展に伴い重要な位置づけとなってきた。一方，昨今の情報倫理は，プロフェッショナル倫理よりも一般ユーザーが情報を取り扱う時の倫理面に重点がシフトしてきている。
しかし，高度に複雑化する情報技術において，情報技術の専門家の役割は重要であり彼らの責任は益々大きくなってくる。
ACMやIEEEなどの代表的な情報技術の専門家団体は，専門家の行動規範としての倫理綱領を早い時期に策定し，専門家の責任を社会に示している。本稿ではプロフェッショナルの特徴を踏まえて，情報技術の専門家の倫理綱領が果たす役割と意義を確認し，情報倫理におけるプロフェッショナル倫理の位置づけを再確認する。Information ethics was initially primarily focused on professional ethics for computer technology professionals. Professional ethics has become more important as information technology has advanced. However, the emphasis of recent information ethics has shifted to focus more on the ethical aspects of general users’ information management than professional ethics.
However, in the highly complex world of information technology, the role of professional experts has become increasingly important, as their responsibilities continue to grow.
Professional organizations representing information technology professionals, such as ACM and IEEE, formulated a code of ethics and code of professional conduct early in their development to uphold and ensure their responsibility toward society.
