Simulation of Acid Mine Drainage Water Quality Using Python-Based Modeling: Scenario Variations Analysis for Predicting pH and Metal Concentrations
Acid mine drainage (AMD) is a serious environmental challenge caused by the oxidation of sulfide minerals, resulting in water with low pH and high concentrations of heavy metals such as Fe, Al, and SO4. This study aims to simulate and evaluate mine water quality under various AMD management scenarios based on a Python-based modeling approach. Ten scenarios were analyzed, including mineral precipitation methods, coagulant addition, temperature adjustments, flow rate increases, and industrial pollution impacts. The simulation results show that Scenario B (Goethite and Gibbsite precipitation) and Scenario C (amorphous phase precipitation of Al(OH)3 and Fe(OH)3) effectively reduce aluminum and iron concentrations to moderate levels while maintaining stability. Scenario H (coagulant addition) proved to be the most effective, reducing aluminum concentration to 4.35 mg/L. In contrast, Scenario J (increased flow rate) had a detrimental impact, significantly increasing Fe and SO4 concentrations to 319.12 mg/L. This study applies an integrated approach that combines mineral precipitation and coagulant addition to provide an effective and sustainable solution for AMD mitigation. These findings offer a practical framework for improving environmental management and minimizing the ecological impact of acid mine drainageAcid mine drainage (AMD) is a serious environmental challenge caused by the oxidation of sulfide minerals, resulting in water with low pH and high concentrations of heavy metals such as Fe, Al, and SO4. Pengaruh metode pengemasan ikan tongkol asap guna menghambat kemunduran mutu pada suhu ruang: Packaging method effect of smoked skipjack tuna to inhibit quality deterioration at room temperature
Hasil analisis kimia dan mikrob pada pengemasan MAP dan plastik vakum hingga hari terakhir penyimpanan memenuhi standar SNI 2725:2013, kadar air < 60%, log total mikrob < 4,7 log CFU/g, dan log total kapang < 2 log CFU/g.Smoked Tongkol fish is one of the products favored by tourists as a souvenir of Prigi Beach, Trenggalek. Sales of smoked fish at Prigi Beach are only placed on wooden display cases without packaging, so there is a high possibility of exposure to microbial and mold contaminants that can affect its quality. Packaging with the Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) method and vacuum plastic packaging are ways to extend shelf life and maintain quality. The purpose of this study was to compare vacuum and MAP packaging methods to extend the shelf life of smoked Tongkol (Euthynnus affinis) at room temperature. The quality test results of smoked fish produced at the bengkorok fish smoking center include Salmonella spp bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and benzo(a)pyrene still in accordance with SNI 2725:2013 standards. The best histamine analysis results during storage were 52.32 ± 3.16 mg/kg found in MAP packaging. The results of chemical and microbial analysis on MAP and vacuum plastic packaging until the last day of storage are still in accordance with SNI 2725:2013 standards, moisture content < 60%, log total microbes < 4.7 log CFU/g, and log total mold < 2 log CFU/g. Plastic packaging experienced quality deterioration on day 2 of storage with test values below SNI 2725:2013 standard

The Impact of Biochar and FeCl3 Administration on Fe Toxicity Symptoms and Productivity of Bok Choy Mustard Plants (Brassica rapa L.) Nauli Variety
Fe³⁺ pollution is a factor that reduces bok choy production. Its productivity can be increased by adding biochar, which can adsorb inorganic ions, including iron. This study examines the impact of rice husk biochar and FeCl₃ on bok choy productivity, using a completely randomized design with a 3´3 factorial pattern. The first factor was the concentration of rice husk biochar (0, 2.5, and 7.5 g/kg), and the second was the concentration of FeCl₃ (0, 25, and 50 mg/L). The criteria measured were the number of leaves, leaf area, chlorophyll content, and vitamin C levels. The combination of 0 g/kg biochar and 0 mg/L FeCl₃ proved to be the most effective treatment for boosting bok choy growth. The treatment yielded 12.6 leaf count, 73.3 cm² leaf area, 2.0 mg/g chlorophyll, and 30.8 ppm vitamin C. Fe³⁺ treatments at 25–50 mg/L drastically lowered all growth metrics. The applied biochar doses were insufficient to efficiently absorb Fe³⁺ and boost the yield of bok choy.

Spatial Distribution of Local Sustainability Index in the Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu UNESCO Global Geopark Using Spatial Autocorrelation
The Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu UNESCO Global Geopark (CPUGG) is a geopark area that is also a tourist destination in Sukabumi, West Java, Indonesia. CPUGG is experiencing rapid regional development, which can be seen from the increase in tourist visitors, changes in land use from agricultural land to built-up areas, the rapid growth of infrastructure and facilities, and the emergence of various economic activities. This study aims to determine local sustainability performance based on the spatial distribution pattern of the local sustainability index (LSI) in CPUGG using a spatial autocorrelation approach. The results show that the CPUGG development is not evenly distributed yet. The spatial distribution pattern of the local sustainability index in economic, social, and environmental are clustered. Each clustering shows that each village influences the surrounding villages. So, increasing the economic, social, and environmental sustainability index in several villages with a low sustainability index is necessary. Good cooperation is needed between the government, society, and several stakeholders to improve economic, social, and environmental development in The Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu UNESCO Global Geopark, West Java, Indonesia.
