Short-term movements of the Pig-Nosed Turtle (Carrettochelys insculpta) in the Kao River, South Papua, Indonesia
Get PDFUnderstanding animal movement is essential for assessing species\u27 ecological needs and informing effective conservation strategies. This study investigates the short-term daily movement and home range of the Endangered (EN) pig-nosed turtle (Carettochelys insculpta) in the Kao River, Boven Digoel District, South Papua, Indonesia. Native to Papua New Guinea, Northern Australia, and Southern Papua, this freshwater turtle faces heavy egg harvesting pressure. Using low-cost GPS tracking devices, we monitored six adult individuals (one male and five females) over a three-day period during November–December 2023. The results indicated that the daily movements of C. insculpta ranged from 84.95 to 648.77 m. Average home range estimates were 18.03 ha (minimum convex polygon), 7.51 ha (50% kernel density), and 12.44 ha (95% kernel density). The movement overlaps among the four turtles totaled 30.64 ha, with an average overlap of 6.12 ha. The hotspot analysis identified 76.16 ha as key movement areas, revealing that the pig-nosed turtles tend to stay near sandbanks, primary dryland forest, secondary dryland forest, and shrublands. Our studyprovides important baseline ecological data that can be used to inform future conservation and recovery programs. The Effect of Entrepreneurial Financing Choice Mediation: Financial Literacy on Sustainability of SMEs
Get PDFBackground: Small and Medium Enterprises have great potential but face difficulties in achieving sustainability due to limited financial literacy and entrepreneurial financing choices.Purpose: This research aims to investigate the influence of financial literacy on the sustainability of SMEs in West Sumatra and explore the mediating effect of entrepreneurial financing choice.Design/methodology/approach: This type of research is quantitative research using a survey approach. This research involved 247 SMEs and data collection was carried out through questionnaires. This hypothesis testing was carried out by structural equation modeling (SEM) using SmartPLS 4.1.3Finding/Results: These findings indicate that financial literacy significantly positively increases the sustainability of SMEs. However, financial literacy on entrepreneurial financing choices has a significant negative impact, as well as entrepreneurial financing choices on sustainability has a significant negative impact. Apart from that, the mediating effect of entrepreneurial financing choice in influencing financial literacy on sustainability has a significant positive impact. Conclusion: This research shows that financial literacy positively influences sustainability in SMEs. Although entrepreneurial financing choice has a negative relationship with financial literacy and sustainability. However, the mediation role has a positive relationship. Originality/value (state of art): Entrepreneurial financing choice is a choice made by SMEs in seeking and obtaining funding sources, both internal and external, but SMEs have obstacles in accessing external funding.

Factors Influencing E-Commerce Purchases of Halal Cosmetics: A UTAUT2 Approach
Get PDFBackground: The rapid growth of information technology has transformed business activities, particularly through e-commerce, which facilitates seamless transactions between producers and consumers. In Indonesia, internet penetration reached 78.19% in 2023, driving demand for halal cosmetics online and necessitating insights into consumer behavior to enhance market reach and trust.Purpose: This study identifies factors impacting consumer intentions in purchasing halal cosmetics online utilizing an extended UTAUT2 model with a Trust variable.Design/Methodology/Approach: This study utilizes a quantitative survey design to gather 260 responses from e-commerce users who purchase halal cosmetics. Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) analyzed the relationship among variables.Findings: All performance expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, hedonic motivation, price value, habit, and trust are significant factors influencing the consumer intention and behavior. Among these, habits emerged as the most influential factor, indicating that habitual use is instrumental to the formation of purchasing behaviors.Conclusion: Based on these findings, it further suggests that the e-commerce platforms should put great effort into building consumer trust via robust security systems, thorough technical support, as well as personalized, fun shopping to ultimately help the halal cosmetics market to prosper.Originality/Value (State of the Art): This study incorporates Trust into the UTAUT2 model to improve understanding of strategies that will optimize halal e-commerce.

Effects of Financial Literacy and Self-Efficacy On Risky Credit Behavior of Gen-Z
Get PDFBackground: The rise of digital technology has driven the growth of financial services like Paylater, enabling instant purchases with deferred payments. This has shifted financial habits, especially among Generation Z, who are more vulnerable to risky credit behavior. Therefore, understanding factors such as financial literacy and financial self-efficacy is essential to encourage responsible credit use.Purpose: The research focuses on analyzing the influence of financial literacy and financial self-efficacy on risky credit behavior among Generation Z in Indonesia. Design/methodology/approach: The study employs a quantitative research approach, utilizing a survey method to collect primary data from 141 Generation Z respondents in Indonesia who use online consumer credit services. The questionnaire assesses financial literacy, financial self-efficacy, and risky credit behavior. The collected data is analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to evaluate the relationships between financial literacy, financial self-efficacy, and risky credit behavior. Findings/Results: The study reveals that financial literacy significantly affects risky credit behavior. Furthermore, financial self-efficacy serves as a mediating variable, strengthening the influence of financial literacy on responsible credit management. Specifically, the results indicate that higher financial literacy leads to improved financial self-efficacy, and increased financial literacy reduces risky credit behavior. Financial self-efficacy directly decreases risky credit behavior, and financial self-efficacy successfully moderates the relationship between financial literacy and risky credit behavior, reinforcing responsible credit decisions. These findings highlight the importance of both financial knowledge and confidence in reducing credit risks among Generation Z consumers.Conclusion: This study confirms that financial literacy and financial self-efficacy play critical roles in shaping the credit behavior of Generation Z. Financial literacy equips individuals with the necessary knowledge to manage their finances effectively, while financial self-efficacy enhances their confidence in making informed financial decisions.Originality/value (State of the art): This research contributes to the growing body of knowledge on financial behavior by examining the interplay between financial literacy, financial self-efficacy, and risky credit behavior within the context of Generation Z\u27s engagement with online consumer credit. Unlike previous studies that primarily focus on financial literacy alone, this study highlights the mediating role of financial self-efficacy, providing a more comprehensive understanding of how financial knowledge translates into behavior. The findings offer valuable insights for financial service providers, educators, and policymakers in designing interventions aimed at fostering financial responsibility among young consumers.

Optimizing Vocational Teacher Performance Through Sustainable Management

Clarifying its role in progressing human asset advancement, preparing teachers with fundamental abilities and information to realize the SDGs, and building compelling, responsible, and comprehensive instructive.Purpose: This study seeks to examine and evaluate the influence of the relationship between the Influence of Transformational Leadership, Compensation, and Organizational Culture on Teacher Performance in Moderating Job SatisfactionDesign/methodology/approach: The sampling technique uses saturated samples, which are taken from the entire population The information used is essential information collected employing a survey disseminated to 124 changeless establishment teachers. The analysis method uses the Structural Positive and Partial Least Square Equation Model (SEM). Findings/Results: Transformational leadership encompasses a positive but inconsequential impact on teacher performance, organizational culture, compensation, and job satisfaction have a noteworthy positive impact on teacher performance. Job satisfaction can moderate some of of the compensation on teacher performance. Job satisfaction can moderate the effect of transformational leadership on teacher performance as a predictor. And job satisfaction can moderate some of the effect of organizational culture on teacher performance.Conclusion: Organizations have to be take steps to decrease the state of mind of teachers who are not ideal in looking at the authority side of this school, arrangements are advertised to make strides communication, transparency in organizational management, and maintain equity in approaches. This will increment by and large employee job satisfaction.Originality/value (State of the craftsmanship): This investigate not as it were looks at the coordinate relationship between organizational culture, Compensation and Transformational Leadership on Teacher Performance but moreover considers the directing role of Job Satisfaction. Maintaining a Long-Distance Marriage: Communication and Spirituality
Get PDFLong-distance marriage (LDM) can pose significant challenges for couples in preserving emotional intimacy, trust, and overall relationship stability, highlighting the importance of resilience in sustaining connections. This study investigated the interplay between spirituality, WhatsApp communication, and resilience in long-distance marriages. Resilience encompasses a couple\u27s ability to effectively navigate challenges within a long-distance marriage (LDM). This study employed a quantitative correlational design and included 138 married individuals who have been engaged in LDM for at least one year. Data collection involved questionnaires assessing WhatsApp communication, spirituality measured by the Daily Spiritual Experiences Scale (DSES), and couple resilience evaluated through the Couple Resilience Inventory Scale (CRIS). Analyses were performed using IBM SPSS. The results indicated a positive correlation between WhatsApp communication and positive resilience behaviour (r = 0.489, p < 0.01), along with a negative correlation with negative resilience behaviour (r = -0.442, p < 0.01). Furthermore, spirituality exhibited a positive correlation with positive resilience behaviour (r = 0.422, p < 0.01) and a negative correlation with negative resilience behaviour (r = -0.299, p < 0.01). WhatsApp communication and spirituality accounted for 28.6% of the variance in couple resilience, with other factors influencing the remaining percentage. These findings suggest that both digital communication and spirituality play significant roles in enhancing resilience among couples in long-distance relationships
IDENTIFIKASI KOMODITAS UNGGULAN DAN TIPOLOGI PERTANIAN KABUPATEN BOJONEGORO
Get PDFKabupaten Bojonegoro, Jawa Timur, memiliki potensi besar di sektor pertanian yang didukung oleh hasil produksi tanaman pangan seperti padi, jagung, dan kedelai. Namun, alih fungsi lahan akibat aktivitas industri, seperti Blok Cepu yang dikelola Exxon Mobil, telah memberikan dampak negatif pada kondisi sosial ekonomi petani. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat produksi dan produktivitas sektor pertanian di Bojonegoro serta mengevaluasi komoditas pertanian strategis menggunakan data sekunder dari BPS Bojonegoro tahun 2022. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sembilan indikator komoditas unggulan, yang dikelompokkan menjadi tiga komponen utama: (1) produktivitas jagung dan realisasi pupuk (NPK, Petroganik, Urea); (2) ternak ayam, sapi potong, dan kambing potong; (3) produktivitas padi, tebu, dan realisasi pupuk Petroganik. Temuan ini menyoroti pentingnya pengelolaan pupuk yang optimal dan dukungan terhadap komoditas strategis untuk mendorong keberlanjutan sektor pertanian di Bojonegoro. Strategi pengembangan yang holistik diperlukan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas dan mengurangi dampak alih fungsi lahan.Bojonegoro Regency, East Java, possesses significant potential in the agricultural sector, supported by high yields of staple crops such as rice, corn, and soybeans. However, land-use changes driven by industrial activities, including the Cepu Block managed by Exxon Mobil, have negatively affected the socioeconomic conditions of farmers who rely on agriculture as their primary source of income. The objectives of this study were to analyze agricultural production and productivity levels in Bojonegoro and evaluate its strategic agricultural commodities. The research utilizes secondary data from the 2022 Bojonegoro Statistics Agency (BPS), focusing on five variables: food crops, horticulture, plantation, livestock, and fertilizer application (NPK, Petroganik, Urea). The results identified nine key indicators of strategic commodities, grouped into three main components: (1) corn productivity and fertilizer application (NPK, Petroganik, Urea); (2) livestock, including chicken, beef cattle, and goats; (3) rice and sugarcane productivity alongside Petroganik fertilizer application. These findings emphasize the importance of optimal fertilizer management and support for strategic commodities to sustain agricultural development. A comprehensive development strategy is essential to enhance productivity and mitigate the impact of land-use changes
Pengetahuan, Sikap, dan Perilaku Higiene dan Sanitasi Penjamah Pangan di Taman Tegalega Kota Bandung
Get PDFTegalega Park is one of the well-known tourist destinations in Bandung, renowned for its historical significance. The high number of visitors makes it a potential market for vendors, including street food vendors. Food processors and handlers must maintain proper sanitation and hygiene to prevent microbial contamination and ensure food safety. This study aimed to assess the knowledge, attitudes, and hygiene and sanitation practices of food handlers in Tegalega Park, examine the correlation between these factors, and propose recommendations for improvement. A survey methodology was employed, with food handlers as respondents. Questionnaires were distributed directly in printed form, and respondents were selected purposively based on the criteria of being street food vendors operating in Tegalega Park. A total of 154 qualified respondents participated in the study. The results indicated that food handlers demonstrated good knowledge, attitudes, and hygiene and sanitation practices, with scores of 53.90% for knowledge, 54.55% for attitudes, and 57.79% for hygiene and sanitation practices (all ≥70% threshold). Respondent characteristics, including age, education level, work experience, and training experience, showed a positive correlation with knowledge, attitudes, and hygiene and sanitation practices. The correlation between attitudes and practices was stronger than that between knowledge and attitudes or knowledge and practices. Overall, there is still a need to enhance knowledge, attitudes, and practices through the equitable distribution of cleaning facilities and targeted counselling or training programs
Molecular diagnosis and successful doxycycline therapy of Mycoplasma felis infection in a domestic short hair cat
No full textInfeksi saluran pernapasan atas (ISPA) pada kucing merupakan salah satu penyakit yang paling umum terjadi pada kucing domestik, yang sering kali muncul dengan tanda-tanda klinis yang tumpang tindih terlepas dari patogen penyebabnya. Identifikasi yang akurat terhadap agen etiologi sangat penting untuk terapi yang tepat sasaran dan hasil klinis yang lebih baik. Laporan kasus ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan presentasi klinis, diagnosis, dan keberhasilan pengobatan kucing domestik berbulu pendek dengan infeksi pernapasan yang disebabkan semata-mata oleh Mycoplasma felis. Seekor kucing domestik berbulu pendek betina berusia 10 bulan dari Sidoarjo, Jawa Timur, Indonesia, datang dengan riwayat bersin selama satu minggu dan keluarnya cairan hidung bernanah. Pemeriksaan fisik menunjukkan konjungtivitis dan demam (39,8°C). Uji reaksi berantai polimerase (PCR) yang menargetkan patogen pernapasan kucing umum—Feline herpesvirus-1, Feline calicivirus, Chlamydia felis, dan Mycoplasma felis (M. felis)—dilakukan menggunakan usapan hidung. Analisis PCR menghasilkan hasil positif hanya untuk M. felis. Analisis hematologi menunjukkan leukositosis dan neutrofilia yang nyata, yang mendukung keberadaan infeksi bakteri. Kucing tersebut diobati dengan doksisiklin oral 10 mg/kg sekali sehari selama 42 hari. Tanda-tanda klinis membaik secara progresif, dan PCR pasca-perawatan mengonfirmasi tidak adanya M. felis. Kasus ini menyoroti pentingnya diagnostik molekuler pada infeksi pernapasan kucing dan menunjukkan efektivitas doksisiklin sebagai pengobatan lini pertama untuk ISPA terkait M. felis.Feline upper respiratory tract infections (URTIs) are among the most prevalent illnesses in domestic cats, often presenting with overlapping clinical signs regardless of the causative pathogen. Accurate identification of the etiological agent is essential for targeted therapy and improved clinical outcomes. This case report aims to describe the clinical presentation, diagnosis, and successful treatment of a domestic short hair cat with respiratory infection caused solely by Mycoplasma felis. A 10-month-old female domestic short hair cat from Sidoarjo, East Java, Indonesia, presented with a one-week history of sneezing and purulent nasal discharge. Physical examination revealed conjunctivitis and fever (39.8 °C). Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assays targeting common feline respiratory pathogens—Feline herpesvirus-1, Feline calicivirus, Chlamydia felis, and Mycoplasma felis (M. felis)—were conducted using nasal swabs. PCR analysis yielded a positive result only for M. felis. Hematological analysis revealed leukocytosis and marked neutrophilia, supporting the presence of bacterial infection. The cat was treated with oral doxycycline at 10 mg/kg once daily for 42 days. Clinical signs resolved progressively, and post-treatment PCR confirmed the absence of M. felis. This case highlights the importance of molecular diagnostics in feline respiratory infections and demonstrates the effectiveness of doxycycline as a first-line treatment for M. felis-associated URTI
Intestinal Morphology, Protein Digestibility, and Broiler Performance Fed Encapsulated Dahlia Tuber Extract and Bacillus subtilis
Get PDFThis study aimed to evaluate the effects of encapsulated dahlia tuber extract and Bacillus subtilis (EdteBs) on intestinal morphology, protein digestibility, and broiler performance. A total of 200 eight-day-old Ross 308 broilers (initial body weight: 194.60 ± 3.46 g) were divided into four dietary treatments with five replications. The treatments were: T0 – basal diet (control) without EdteBs supplementation; T1 – T0 + 0.1% EdteBs; T2 – T0 + 0.2% EdteBs; and T3 – T0 + 0.3% EdteBs. Variables measured included potential hydrogen (pH), lactic acid bacteria (LAB) population, coliform count, villus height, crypt depth, intestinal segment weight and height, protein digestibility, feed intake, body weight gain (BWG), feed conversion ratio (FCR), and income over feed cost (IOFC). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance, followed by Duncan’s test at a 5% significance level (p<0.05). Results showed that EdteBs supplementation at higher levels (T2 and T3) significantly (p<0.05) increased LAB population, villus height, crypt depth, and intestinal segment weight and height, while pH and coliform counts decreased. Protein digestibility and BWG also significantly improved (p<0.05) in T2 and T3. Both feed intake and BWG increased, particularly in T3, contributing to lower FCR and higher IOFC. In conclusion, EdteBs supplementation enhances intestinal morphology, protein digestibility, and broiler performance, with the most effective level at 0.3%
