    Potensi aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak spons laut Stylissa carteri: Potential antioxidant activity of sea sponge Stylissa carteri extract

    The sea sponge Stylissa carteri plays an important role because it is one of the constituent biota of coastal and marine ecosystems, especially in coral reef ecosystems. The increasing utilization of bioactive compounds in sea sponges is feared to significantly reduce the population of sea sponges. The prevention effort involves cultivating sea sponges for sustainable utilization. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity of transplanted Stylissa carteri sponges and those that live naturally in nature. This study was conducted in Pramuka Island using the sponge explant combination method. The three types of transplants were number one (SO), number two (S. carteri and Aaptos suberitoides), and number three (S. carteri, A. suberitoides, and Acropora hard coral). Antioxidant activity was tested with three repetitions on three transplanted and naturally occurring S. carteri sponges (SA) using the DPPH (1,1-Diphenyl-2-Picrylhydrazyl) method. The results indicated that the four sample sources contained strong antioxidant activity, namely SO had an IC50 value of 86.22±23.6 μg/mL, SAP 86.58±30.7 μg/mL, SAC 86.10±23.4 μg/mL, and natural living SA 54.27±16.9 μg/mL. The transplanted S. carteri sea sponge has strong antioxidant activity and can be an alternative solution in terms of raw material availability for the development of potential pharmaceutical products.Spons laut Stylissa carteri berperan penting karena merupakan salah satu biota penyusun ekosistem pesisir dan laut, terutama pada ekosistem terumbu karang. Spons laut yang makin meningkat pemanfaatan senyawa bioaktifnya, dikhawatirkan dapat mengurangi populasi spons laut secara signifikan. Upaya pencegahannya, yaitu dengan budi daya spons laut untuk pemanfaatan yang berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan aktivitas antioksidan spons Stylissa carteri yang ditransplantasi dan yang hidup alami di alam. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Pulau Pramuka dengan metode kombinasi eksplan spons. Perlakuan transplantasi, yaitu 1: Stylissa carteri (SO), 2: S. carteri dan Aaptos suberitoides (SAP) dan 3: S. carteri, A. suberitoides dan karang keras Acropora (SAC). Pengujian aktivitas antioksidan dengan tiga kali pengulangan pada tiga spons S. carteri hasil transplantasi dan yang hidup alami di alam (SA) menggunakan metode DPPH (1,1-Difenil-2-Pikrilhidrazil). Hasil menunjukkan keempat sumber sampel mengandung aktivitas antioksidan yang kuat, yaitu SO memiliki nilai IC50 86,22±23,6 μg/mL, SAP 86,58±30,7 μg/mL, SAC 86,10±23,4 μg/mL, dan yang hidup alami SA 54,27±16,9 μg/mL.     Kappa-karagenan yang berasal dari rumput laut merah dikenal bersifat membentuk film yang sangat baik dan banyak digunakan sebagai bahan bioplastik. Formulasi kappa-karagenan dan pati limbah kulit singkong yang diperkuat dengan polivinil alkohol (PVA) berpotensi menghasilkan bioplastik dengan sifat fisikomekanik yang lebih optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan formula terbaik kappa-karagenan dan pati limbah kulit singkong sebagai bioplastik berdasarkan sifat fisikomekaniknya yang meliputi ketebalan, kuat tarik, elongasi, dan laju transmisi uap air dengan mengacu pada standar JIS Z 1707. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok lengkap (RAKL) dengan variasi rasio kappa-karagenan dan pati limbah kulit singkong. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa formula kappa-karagenan dan pati limbah kulit singkong secara signifikan memengaruhi seluruh sifat fisikomekanik bioplastik, kecuali densitas. Seluruh formula memenuhi standar JIS untuk kuat tarik dan elongasi. Formula yang menggunakan pati limbah kulit singkong dengan konsentrasi yang lebih tinggi secara signifikan memperbaiki sifat penghalang bioplastik dengan menurunkan laju transmisi uap air dan penyerapan air. Peningkatan konsentrasi pati meningkatkan elongasi film secara signifikan, tetapi mengurangi ketebalan, kuat tarik, dan modulus Young, serta menghasilkan biodegradasi yang lebih lambat. Formula terbaik diperoleh pada rasio 1% kappa-karagenan: 4% pati dengan ketebalan 0,35 mm, kuat tarik 1,14 MPa, elongasi 25,78%, dan laju transmisi uap air 18,47 g/m2/hari. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa formulasi kappa-karagenan dan pati limbah kulit singkong dapat menghasilkan bioplastik dengan sifat fisikomekanik yang memenuhi standar dan berpotensi mengurangi polusi plastik secara keberlanjutan di masa depan.Kappa-carrageenan, derived from red seaweed, is well-known for its excellent film-forming properties and is widely used as a bioplastic material. It is possible to improve the physical and mechanical properties of bioplas-tics by mixing kappa-carrageenan with cassava peel starch and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as a reinforcement. The goal of this study is to find the best combination of kappa-carrageenan and cassava peel starch for bio-plastic based on its thickness, tensile strength, elongation, and water vapor transmission rate (WVTR), as specified in JIS Z 1707. A completely randomized block design (CRBD) was employed with varying ratios of kappa-carrageenan and cassava peel waste starch. The findings show that the mixtures of kappa-carrageenan and cassava peel starch had a big effect on all of the bioplastic\u27s physical and mechanical properties, except for its density. All bioplastic formulations met the JIS standard for tensile strength and elongation. Higher starch con-centrations significantly improved the barrier properties by reducing WVTR and water absorption. However, increasing starch concentration enhanced elongation while decreasing thickness, tensile strength, and Young\u27s modulus, resulting in slower biodegradation. The best mix, which had 4% starch and 1% kappa-carrageenan, was thickest at 0.35 mm, a tensile strength of 1.14 MPa, an elongation of 25.78%, and a WVTR of 18.47 g/m²/day (Grade 3). The results show that kappa-carrageenan and waste starch from cassava peel can be used to make bioplastics that meet the standards for physical and mechanical properties. This could also help reduce plastic pollution in the future

    Optimasi pembuatan garam Ulva lactuca menggunakan response surface methodology: Optimization production process of Ulva lactuca salt using response surface methodology

    Rumput laut Ulva lactuca merupakan bahan baku potensial dalam pengembangan garam fungsional. Kendala yang dihadapi ialah rendemen yang masih rendah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menentukan kondisi proses optimum pada produksi garam U. lactuca berdasarkan persentase rendemen tertinggi, mutu kimia, dan sensori menggunakan metode Response Surface Methodology dengan desain Box-Behnken (BBD). Metode pembuatan garam rumput laut menggunakan tiga variabel dengan tiga tingkatan, yakni rasio penambahan tepung U. lactuca dan pelarut akuades (A = 1:5, 1:10, 1:15), waktu ekstraksi (B = 10, 15, dan 30 menit), dan suhu ekstraksi (C = 40, 55, dan 70oC). Kombinasi ketiga faktor tersebut menghasilkan 15 percobaan. Model persamaan diuji dengan analisis varian (ANOVA) dengan α = 0.05. Garam U. lactuca hasil optimasi diuji mutu kimia, cemaran logam berat, dan karakteristik sensori. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan optimum dalam menghasilkan rendemen garam rumput laut tertinggi, yakni rasio tepung dan pelarut sebesar 1:13,5, waktu ekstraksi selama 12 menit, dan suhu ekstraksi 70oC. Perlakuan tersebut menghasilkan respons rendemen sebesar 31,81±1,63%, yang memiliki perbedaan 0,82% dibandingkan respons prediksi 31,55%. Garam U. lactuca yang dihasilkan memiliki kadar abu 59,970%, protein 3,586%, lemak 0,25%, karbohidrat 15,46%, dan air 10,49%, kadar NaCl 27,31%, yodium <0,35%, kadmium 0,07 mg/kg, merkuri <0,002 mg/kg, dan timbal 3,6 mg/kg. Nilai respons sensori garam U. lactuca untuk atribut warna butiran, warna larutan, rasa, aroma, mouthfeel, flavor, aftertaste, dan overall berkisar pada rentang 4,2±1,69 (agak tidak suka) hingga 4,8±1,21 (netral).Ulva lactuca seaweed is a potential raw material for the production of functional salts. The obstacle faced was the low yield. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimum process conditions for the production of U. lactuca salt based on the highest yield percentage, chemical quality, and sensory properties using the Response Surface Methodology method with the Box-Behnken (BBD) design. The method of making seaweed salt uses three variables with three levels, namely, the ratio of U. lactuca flour addition and aqueous solvent (A = 1:5, 1:10, 1:15), extraction time (B = 10, 15, and 30 min), and extraction temperature (C = 40, 55, and 70℃). A combination of these three factors resulted in a total of 15 experiments. The equation model was tested using analysis of variance (ANOVA) with α = 0.05. The optimized U. lactuca salt was tested for its chemical quality, heavy metal contamination, and sensory characteristics. The results showed that the optimal treatment for producing the highest seaweed salt yield was flour and solvent ratio of 1:13.5, extraction time of 12 min, and extraction temperature of 70℃. This treatment produced a yield response of 31.81±1.63%, which was a difference of 0.82% compared to the predicted response of 31.55%. The resulting U. lactuca salt had an ash content of 59.97%, protein 3.6%, fat 0.25%, carbohydrate 15.46%, moisture 10.49%, NaCl content 27.31%, iodine <0.35%, cadmium 0.07 mg/kg, mercury <0.002 mg/kg, and lead 3.6 mg/kg. The sensory response value of U. lactuca salt for the attributes of grain color, solution color, taste, aroma, mouthfeel, flavor, aftertaste, and overall ranged from 4.2±1.69 (slightly disliked) to 4.8±1.21 (neutral)

    Infrastruktur Teknologi 5G merupakan fasilitator informasi antara Publik dan Industri dengan meningkatkan akses jaringan dan layanan pita lebar. Dalam makalah ini, kami menyelidiki bagaimana infrastruktur Teknologi 5G mempengaruhi pertumbuhan Industri Dalam Proses. Teknologi 5G adalah istilah yang digunakan untuk merujuk pada generasi kelima sebagai fase berikutnya dari standar telekomunikasi seluler di luar standar 4G. Teknologi 5G diprediksi memiliki kecepatan sekitar 800Gbps, atau seratus kali lebih cepat dari kecepatan generasi sebelumnya. 5G mampu memberikan kecepatan data yang jauh lebih cepat daripada 4G, dengan kecepatan data puncak hingga 20 Gigabit per detik (Gbps). Dalam industri manufaktur, teknologi 5G diharapkan dapat meningkatkan efisiensi dengan meningkatkan komunikasi antara mesin dan peralatan.     Analisis Strategi Optimalisasi Wakaf Produktif Pada Laznas Bangun Sejahtera Indonesia Maslahat (Laznas BSI Maslahat) Jakarta)

    Nazhir wakaf LAZNAS BSI (Bangun Sejahtera Indonesia) Maslahat telah menghimpun dan mengelola dana wakaf sejak tahun 2020. Program wakaf yang saat ini sudah berjalan adalah wakaf sosial dan wakaf produktif. Tujuan penelitian adalah (1) Mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang menjadi prioritas pertimbangan dan memengaruhi keputusan wakif dalam menyalurkan wakaf melalui LAZNAS BSI Maslahat; (2) Menganalisis optimalisasi wakaf produktif; dan (3) Menyusun alternatif strategi optimalisasi wakaf produktif. Penelitian dilakukan di Lembaga Amil Zakat Nasional (LAZNAS) BSI Maslahat Jakarta dengan waktu pelaksanaan bulan Januari-Juni 2024. Penentuan lokasi kajian dengan metode purposive sampling dengan informan pakar yang berjumlah lima orang. Metode analisis data dengan matriks Internal Factor Evaluation (IFE) dan External Factor Evaluation (EFE) untuk mengidentifikasi faktor internal dan eksternal, dan matriks internal-external (IE) untuk mengetahui posisi BSI Maslahat dalam rangka strategi optimalisasi, serta matriks strengtghs, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) dan quantitative strategic planning matrix (QSPM) untuk penentuan prioritas strategi yang dapat diimplementasikan. Hasil analisis diperoleh strategi utama yang dapat diterapkan adalah penguatan dan harmonisasi regulasi wakaf dalam mendukung pembangunan ekosistem digital wakaf yang solid. Implikasi manajerial mencakup penguatan struktur organisasi, pengembangan kebijakan, peningkatan kompetensi SDM, pengembangan kemitraan, pemanfaatan teknologi, transparansi, monitoring, dan edukasi masyarakat. Dengan implementasi strategi ini, diharapkan pengelolaan wakaf produktif di BSI Maslahat menjadi lebih efektif, berkelanjutan, dan memberikan dampak positif bagi masyarakat luas.Nazhir waqf LAZNAS BSI (Bangun Sejahtera Indonesia) Maslahat has been collecting and managing waqf funds since 2020. The waqf programs currently running are social waqf and productive waqf. The purpose of this study was: (1) Identify factors that are priority considerations and influence the wakif\u27s decision in distributing waqf through LAZNAS BSI Maslahat; (2) Analyzing the optimization of productive waqf; and (3) Develop alternative strategies for optimizing productive waqf. The research was conducted at the National Amil Zakat Institute (LAZNAS) BSI Maslahat Jakarta with an implementation time of January-June 2024. Determining the location of the study using a purposive sampling method with five expert informants. Data analysis method with the Internal Factor Evaluation matrix (IFE) and External Factor Evaluation matrix (EFE) matrices to identify internal and external factors, and the internal-external (IE) matrix to determine the position of BSI Maslahat in the context of optimization strategies, as well as the strengtghs, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) and quantitative strategic planning matrix (QSPM) matrix for determining strategic priorities that can be implemented. The results of the analysis show that the main strategy that can be implemented is strengthening and harmonizing waqf regulations to support the development of a solid digital waqf ecosystem. Managerial implications include strengthening organizational structures, developing policies, increasing HR competency, developing partnerships, utilizing technology, transparency, monitoring and public education. By implementing this strategy, it is hoped that productive waqf management at BSI Maslahat will be more effective, sustainable and have a positive impact on the wider community

    There is a disparity in red chili production between actual and potential which causes the available supply to be inadequate to cover the high demand. Production problems could not only be identified through production factors but also other factors that contribute to the issue. Technical efficiency is an analytical method that measuring production factors and out-of-production factors simultaneously. This study aims to measure the level of technical efficiency of red chili farming, to analyze the factors that influence red chili production, and to analyze the factors that influence the technical efficiency of red chili farming. This study employs secondary data from the 2013 Agricultural Census Results of the 2014 Horticultural Crop Farming Household Subsector Survey (ST2013 SHR), Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) is a method of estimating the level of technical efficiency of red chili farming and the factors that affect it. The results revealed that the average level of technical efficiency of Indonesian red chili farms was 0.6525. This level implies that Indonesian red chili farms still have the opportunity to be improved. Seeds, N-element fertilizers, P-element fertilizers, manures, pesticides and labor are factors that can affect red chili production. Education, technologies, participation in farmer groups, planting seasons, land types, cropping systems and certified seeds are factors that can raise the technical efficiency of red chili farming while access to credit and subsidies can reduce the technical efficiency of red chili farming. Assistance in the use of subsidies and credit is a policy the government could take in enhancing the technical efficiency of Indonesian red chili farms besides the technology use and dry season planting.  The rising price of red chili is associated with the production availability at the farm level. Meanwhile, the price increase has not been sufficient to impact on farmers\u27 income positively. Production problems can not only be explained through production factors but other factors also contribute. Technical efficiency is an analytical method that measures production factors and external factors directly. Spatial measurement may lead to policy bias. Therefore, this study aims to measure and analyze the factors that affect the level of technical efficiency of Indonesian red chili. This study applied the Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) method to measure and analyze the factors affecting the technical efficiency of Indonesian red chili. All production inputs, including seeds, chemical fertilizers, organic fertilizers, pesticides, labor, and harvest areas, affect the improvement of Indonesian red chili production. Inefficiency factors that can increase the level of technical efficiency of red chili are education, technology, farmer groups, planting season, land type, cropping system, and the utilization of certified seeds. While access to credit, cooperative membership, and subsidies can reduce the level of technical efficiency of Indonesian red chili. The average technical efficiency level of Indonesian red chili is 0,6525. A reassessment of subsidy policies and access to credit and development of agricultural institutions are possible policies that could be considered by the government to improve the production and technical efficiency level of Indonesian red chili

    Peningkatan Keterampilan Kelompok Masyarakat melalui Pelatihan Budidaya Ikan Nila di Desa Karangtengah, Kabupaten Sukabumi

    The Mustika Rahayu community group is engaged in tilapia cultivation for consumption, located in Karangtengah Village, Cibadak District, Sukabumi Regency. The downturn due to the Covid-19 pandemic is also experienced by this business group, and this condition is getting worse due to low skills on how to cultivate tilapia properly and correctly, the high price of feed and medicines, and the lack of knowledge to do fish farming online. The results of the assistance and training activities for tilapia cultivation skills carried out to partners, namely the Mustika Rahayu fish farming business group, empower them, as evidenced by the following: 1) increased partner knowledge about tilapia cultivation in round ponds with biofloc system/technology; 2) increased knowledge and skills of partners in conducting good tilapia farming; and 3) increased tilapia production by 40% from before the implementation of the activity.     The development of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) is a key strategy for enhancing social inclusion and economic sustainability at the local level. Capacity building and the obligation for halal certification among MSEs require support from various stakeholders, including the academia. This community service activity aims to improve social inclusion and business sustainability of MSEs in Talang Padang District, Tanggamus Regency, Lampung Province, through halal certification training. Community service was conducted in three main stages: coordination and socialization, halal certification training, and monitoring and evaluation, along with participant mentoring. A total of 18 participants attended the training, with 83.33% showing an increase in knowledge about the halal concept and the process for obtaining halal certification. The evaluation results showed that 61.11% of the participants successfully obtained halal certification and incorporated the halal logo on their product packaging.     This program aims to increase partners\u27 knowledge of effective marketing strategies and the importance of social networks. Through this approach, MSME partners will be introduced to product processing skills, especially nutmeg, which can be done independently by them. UMKM Dapur Pala, which produces processed nutmeg in Bogor Regency, has faced obstacles such as limited capital, difficulty managing exports, and a lack of digital marketing capabilities since it was founded in 2018. Through networking with educational institutions, research institutions, and the private sector, which have related experience, MSMEs can access useful resources and information. This will help them improve product quality, understand export markets, and strengthen digital marketing to reach a wider audience. The method for developing the Dapur Pala MSME network was conducted in a hybrid manner through initial visits, program delivery, STP incubation, partnership collaboration with various parties, and evaluation. Data were collected through interviews and document studies to identify partner needs. As for the results of this activity, Kitchen Nutmeg MSMEs were able to expand their network through involvement in the STP IPB Business Incubation, Ecology Corner, Kebun Merdesa, and IPB Agrianita Organization, proving the effectiveness of social network development in supporting the growth and sustainability of MSMEs in the nutmeg farming industry. Community service through the BIMA program in Cihideung Udik Village is carried out as an effort to encourage this potential. The service is carried out for 8 months from July to December 2024 with the aim of encouraging village progress by developing a rural business ecosystem through crystal guava commodities under the title of tourist villages. The scheme for developing a commodity-based business ecosystem is carried out in several stages starting from socialization, FGD, training, and intensive mentoring. Training and mentoring are key in completing the needs to form a village business ecosystem. The success indicators of the training and mentoring scheme are reflected in several aspects such as institutions, plant conditions, and community socialization. The institutional aspect gives good results with collaboration between institutions so that a tourist plan is born in Cihideung Udik Village. Meanwhile, the condition of the plants is considered good with a growth percentage reaching 100% and an average plant height reaching 60.84 cm. This shows that the training and mentoring scheme implemented is very effective so that it has a direct good impact on farmers. The development of this crystal guava commodity will help the economic growth of the local community and increase the tourist attractions in Cihideung Udik Village.The village is the most real place where all economic and social activities of the community occur. From the village, all kinds of problems can be found along with the potential that can be developed. The existing potential needs to be developed so that the benefits can be felt by the surrounding community. Community service through the BIMA program in Cihideung Udik Village is carried out as an effort to encourage this potential.
