Wearable Activity Monitoring System for Detection of Estrus in A Sheep Farm
Get PDFWe have carried out the design of estrus detection tool for the large-scale farm of sheep. Estrus is a regular period of sexual receptivity in female mammals. Basically there are some ways to determine the time of estrus in cattle, which is based on body heat, bioimpedance or motion (activity). These tools have been used in some large-scale farms in developed countries. While in developing countries they are less popular because the price is quite expensive. In this study, a low cost system is designed based on the method of activity measurement using IMU sensor. Activities of sheep sensed by the IMU sensor will be processed by a microcontroller, then to be sent wirelessly to a remote monitor computer.

Health Psychology of Key to Sustaining and Thriving of Human Well Being: Self Control, Conscientiousness, and Adverse Health Behavior
Get PDFthis paper explained that a description of several adverse health behavior and their health care cost impacts, it was argues that, rather than a focus on external environmental factors, the intrinsic constructs of self control and Conscientiousness should be given more priority in explaining and combating these behaviours. Self control and Conscientiousness have profound influences on an individual’s choice to succumb to temptation or resist it, respond impulsively or with self restraint, or seek immediate versus delayed gratification. Method used literature reviews from authoritative databases. Several examples are offered to illustrate the impact of self control and Conscientiousness on a mix of common adverse health behaviors and positive health behaviors, and through these examples it is argued that self control and Conscientiousness are unappreciated constructs in health psychology. Several recommendations for improving self control and Conscientiousness are discussed.
Acceptance and Actual Use of "Facebook": The Role Social Identity and Altruism as Antecedent
Get PDFThe aims of this study are twofold. First, empirically examine how individual characteristics affect actual user acceptance of facebook. To examine these individual characteristics, this study apply a Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to construct an amended model that focuses on two individual differences: social identity and altruism as antecedent of user acceptance. Next, examine the role users’ perception on intention to reuse. The result show that altruism significantly effect on acceptance of “facebook” whereas social identity partially effect on “facebook” acceptance. Perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use effect on intention to reuse.
Factors Influencing Relapse People with Mental Health Disorders in Indonesia
Get PDFA cross – sectional study was conducted to study the effects of demographic characteristics, stigma, home visit and stress of caregiver on relapse people with mental disorders in West Sumatera Province, Indonesia. Using a structured questionnaire, data were derived from 313 of caregivers from Mey until July 2013. Descriptive statistic was used to describe demographic characteristic, stigma, home visit and stress of caregivers on the relapse of people with mental disorders while the effect between these factors and relapse was determined by binary logistic regression. This study found there was no significant relationship between age and occupational of caregivers and relapse people with mental disorders. While when those factors entered in binary logistic the entire variable had statistically significant effect to relapse people with mental disorders. The strongest predictor of relapse people with mental disorders was stress of caregiver, recording an odd ratio 8.06. This indicated that caregiver whose stress were over 8 times more likely to increase relapse people with mental disorders than those with less stress. The lowest predictor were age of caregivers an odd ratio of 2.07. It is important for mental health nurse to strengthen their therapeutic relationship with patients and their caregivers. Stress of caregivers can appear because of lack of support from environment and might be because of lack of knowledge and coping skill of caregivers. Furthermore, the home visiting program needs to be improved because of the increased knowledge of nurses in caring for people with mental disorders can reduce relapse. Besides that it is a form of participation and support from social networks.
The Role of Financial Development toward Capital Structure Choice under Different Macroeconomic Condition
Get PDFthis paper provides new evidence of how financial development affects firm’s capital structure. I use fixed effect panel regression to estimate the association of macroeconomic condition and financial development toward leverage. The results indicate the relationship between firm’s leverage and macroeconomic condition is similar in high and low financial development, particularly in financial unconstrained firms but no evidence that macroeconomic condition affect leverage in financially constrained firms in low financial development countries and I find that financial development associate leverage by the reduction of leverage sensitivity toward macroeconomic condition. The evidence holds whether or not firms are subject to financial constraints. In conclusion, capital structure will also be determined by financial development through macroeconomic condition.

Technical Efficiency of Small-scale Intensive Shrimp Farming in East Java, Indonesia: A Non-parametric Analysis
Get PDFThe aim of this study was to investigate the level of technical efficiency in small-scale intensive shrimp farming. Data collected from 125 small-scale shrimp farmers in East Java Province, Indonesia. The levels of technical efficiency calculated using input oriented Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). The results revealed that shrimp farmers in the study area were technically inefficient. Technical efficiencies vary among shrimp farms, ranging from 0.62 to 1.00.
