Coal Transportation Technology with Pipeline System: a Step Towards National Energy Independence
The increasing use of coal as a source of energy instead of petroleum, it will also increase the ability to produce coal, as well as the national energy policy (KEN) in 2009 in which the use of coal in the energy mix in Indonesia in 2025 rose as much as 33 %. Plus more of the coal transport that causes the social impact like a jam. Therefore one of the prospects of coal transportation system to be developed is a pipeline system, which is a system of coal transportation by utilizing pipelines for transportation, while the material is transported in the form of liquid or slurry that assisted with the pump. Coal srurry pipeline activities include grinding, mixing ratio of 1: 1 or concentration of crushed coal by 60 % and slurrry transport via pipeline. In the end, the coal is separated from the water and ready to be used to fuel power plants. In Indonesia, the pipeline transportation system for transporting coal has never been done, therefore it is necessary for the study and analysis of the possibility of using coal transportation pipeline system.
Silver Nano Perfume Ejector to Destroy Bacteria for Clothes
In modern era, silver nano technology is based on the concept of destroying the bacteria by the use of ionized silver particles. Samsung launched its washing machine which claims of releasing several silver ions during the wash cycle that inhibit the bacterial cell growth and destroy the bacterial cells thus making the clothes germ free and bacteria free. The clothes also get coated with thin layer of the silver ions so that the clothes remain bacteria free for the next thirty days after the wash.
Life Cycle Assessment of Sugar from Sugarcane: A Case Study of Indonesia
Facing rising environmental concerns in the industry sector, especially sugar industry, requires to assess environmental performances. Minimizing the environmental impact like eco design is vital to save the earth. Life cycle assessment (LCA) is applied to know the impact of sugar production from agricultural stage to industrial stage, without considering their usage and disposal phases (cradle to gate). Eco Indicator 99 (H) is used as life cycle impact assessment (LCIA) methods in this study. Life cycle of sugar from sugar cane in Kebon Agung sugar company, East Java province, Indonesia is analyzed by SimaPro 7.3.3 software. Agricultural stage especially fertilizer usage is the largest source of emission in the whole sugar processing with dominant emissions in carcinogens and land use categories. It contributed 86% of whole impact. The contribution from de-ionsed water and burnt lime are also significant to give emission during industrial stage. It mainly affected respiratory inorganics impact category.

Anticancer Activity of Bruceine A Isolated from The Seeds of Brucea javanica on Hela Cell
Brucea javanica seeds has been used traditionally to treat cancer, even though the scientific base of this has not been completely investigated. Bruceine A from Brucea javanica exhibit biological activities as a antimalarial, antitumor, antiviral and antiamoebic activities. This study is to examine the anticancer activity of Bruceine A from Brucea javanica seeds include cytotoxic activity and induced p53 protein expression on Hela cell. Cytotoxicity test of Bruceine A from Brucea javanica seeds has been performed by counting method of the cell directly with trypan blue exclusion dye. Analysis of induced p53 protein expression on Hela cell was detected by using immunocytochemistry technique. Cell that stained positive p53 protein showed that there was nucleus or cytoplasm stained with brown color, while the one stained negative p53 protein would be purple. From cytotoxicity test results of Bruceine A from Bruceine javanica seeds against Hela cell, value IC 50 obtained as big as 76.4 μg/ml. From observation of p53 protein expression on Hela cells by immunocytochemistry staining, it can be seen that Bruceine A from Brucea javanica seeds can increase the expression of p53 protein Hela cells by 44.3%. From the result of this study, it can be concluded that Bruceine A from Brucea javanica seeds have anticancer activity through inhibition mechanism of Hela cell proliferation, by activating the tumor suppressor gene such as p53.
Study on River Morphology and Riverbed Porosity Post the 2010 Eruption in the Western Area of Merapi
Debris flows triggered by Merapi eruption in 2010 have impacts on the rivers condition on the volcano, especially in the western area. Material resulted from debris flows could change on river morphology and riverbed porosity. Therefore, it is important to study on the influence of Merapi eruption in 2010 on river morphology and riverbed porosity in the western area of the volcano. To determine the river morphology was used Rosgen method. To calculate riverbed porosity surface material was used the equation proposed by Sulaiman. The study locations are conducted in Pabelan and Putih Rivers, where each river consists three points. The result shown that morphology types at confluence of Pabelan-Progo Rivers, Srowol Bridge, and Pabelan Bridge 1 are D5b, D5b and E5, respectively. Morphology types at Sirahan Bridge, confluence of Putih-Blongkeng Rivers, and confluence of Putih-Progo Rivers are D5, E5 and D5. For Pabelan River, a type of grain size in the upstream area is Talbot with porosity of 0.29. In the downstream area of Pabelan River, type grain size is log normal with a porosity value of 0.15. Riverbed porosity in Putih River is 0.28 at Sirahan Bridge; 0.21 at confluence of Putih-Blongkeng Rivers; and 0.21 at confluence of Putih-Progo Rivers.
The Utilization of Paper Waste as Raw Material for Making Bioethanol to Reduce the Use of Fossil- Based Fuel
The increase of paper consumption from year to year gives high consequences to waste paper generated. Waste paper is one of potential raw material alternatives which can be converted into ethanol. The stages of making bioethanol from waste paper are pre-treatment, hydrolysis, fermentation, distillation, and concentration analysis by Chromatography Gas (CG). Pre-treatment aims to remove the ink and to break down lignin to be hydrolyzed easily. Pre-treatment is carried out by using H2SO4 and delignification process using NaOH. The phase of hydrolysis changes cellulose into glucose. Hydrolysis is done by using cellulose enzyme (Enzymatic Hydrolysis). Fermentation is carried out by using Saccharomycess cerreviceae bacteria. At this fermentation stage, glucose is degraded into ethanol. Distillation and dehydration stages are the stages of ethanol purification. This stage is done by separating ethanol from water and fermentation residues. Distillation is carried out at temperature of 78-80oC. Then, dehydration is done by using calcium oxide. Chromatography gas is used to analyze the ethanol content appropriateness to be used as fuel. The samples are compared to standard solutions so that ethanol levels can be determined. 10 kilograms of paper waste can produce 100 ml ethanol which has content of 81%.

Providing Azolla microphylla Compost on Rubber (Hevea brasiliensis) Seeds Growth
This study aimed to determine the effect of compost on the growth of Azolla microphylla PB 260 clone rubber seedlings. This research has been conducted in Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau. The study was conducted for 3 months starting from April 2013 to July 2013. The research was carried out experimentally using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) non factorial consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications, obtained 12 experimental units and each unit consists of 3 seeds so that total earned is 36 rubber seedlings and as sample 2 seedlings per unit experiment. Compost treatment given to the provision of treatment levels; 0 gram (0 ton/ha), 15 gram (10 ton/ha), 30 gram (20 ton/ha), 45 gram (30 ton/ha), mixed by weighing soil 3 kg. The data were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance, followed by Duncan's test New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the level of 5%. Parameters observed were observed parameters is Long Branch Grafting (c m), Ste m Circumference (cm), number of leaves (strands), Leaf Area (cm2) and the Root Width Ratio (RWR). Azolla microphylla composting on growth of rubber seedlings mini stum significant effect on the length and number of leaves grafting. As for the parameters of the circumference of grafting, extensive root and root Editorial ratio suggests that the effect is not real. Compost dosing 30 gram/polybag provide the best results for the growth of rubber seedlings mini stum compared with all doses used.
Quality Control Chart for Controlling the Defect in Production Output
The Quality of product is a major important in all kind of industries on the world to enhance the competitiveness belong the competitors in business area. It is important to inspect quality into a product because in manufacturing process the stability, repeatable and capable of the operating with little variability around the target is quite important, in this study the researcher trying to implement the statistical process control in the output of conceptual logic simple production line to detect the process still in control, from this study the defect of product shown still in control circumstance but for the average control condition of the process still not in control, it need develop detect with combination methods to measure and make it in control or analysed more in the future to know it cause by machine, raw material or by operator and simultaneous solve the problems.
