Road Accidents Characteristics Analysis Using Minor Statistics Test (Case Study: Rama Setia Road, Banda Aceh)
This study aims to analyze the most dominant road accident characteristics inside Rama Setia road segment so that the vehicle type with highest involvement in road accident will obtained inside the observed site. The study performed using mean and standard deviation parameters as explanatory variables with road accidents proportion method which recommended from Public Works Department as the analytical variable. Analysis results obtained from these two variables would be tested using Two-Tail Test comparative hypothesis from the road accident categories in Rama Setia road segment as the observed site and another major roads in Banda Aceh as the control zone. The results of hypothesis tests are statistically analyzed using Normal Distribution Test with significance level of 5% (Ztable value = 1.640). Of all the road accident characteristics analyzed with Normal Distribution Test, it can be concluded that there are similarities between the characteristics of the road accident cases in Rama Setia road and the characteristics of the road accident which occurred in another major roads in Banda Aceh city. These results also confirmed that the method of mean and standard deviation mean parameters have identical results to Rizki‘s research (2012) whom using the proportion crash method.
The Factors Related to The Mothers' Interest in Weighing The 1-5 Years Old Toddle
The description of mothers' interest in using the health equipment has been shown clearly by the effectiveness of Posyandu program through the scope of weighing the toddlers in Posyandu. There are some factors that can affect the interest of a mother to do the weighing, such as age, education, occupation, and knowledge. The older a mother, the higher of interest to do so. The aim of this research is to know the factors related to the mothers' interest in weighing their toddlers age 1-5 in Posyandu at Puskesmas Bara Permai Palopo city. This research is a quantitative research with cross sectional design. The samples of this research are mothers who visited the Puskesmas Bara Permai in 2013 with the total sample of 63 mothers. The results of this research shows that age, education, work status, and knowledge have the significant relation between the interest of a mother in weighing their toddler where the value of p is ≤ 0,05. For the staffs, they need to increase the distribution of information about the importance of weighing the toddlers age 1-5 years old to increase the quality of toddlers life.
Health Education Intervention Delivered by Video to Improve Knowledge and Attitude Toward Breast Self Examination Among Women Aged 30-50 Years at Petet Village Tuntang Sub-district in 2014
Breast Self-Examination (BSE) is an important step for early detection of a tumor or lump in the breast in order to reduce the mortality rate of breast cancer. In Indonesia, this screening focused on women aged 30-50 years old. Video is an interesting media in delivering information because it uses auditory and visual sense of its viewers. This study aims to find the influence of health education with video to improveknowledge and attitude toward Breast Self Examination (BSE) in early detection ofbreast cancer among women aged 30-50 years old at Petet Village Tuntang Sub- district. This was a true-experimental study with control group pre-post test design. The samples in this study were 36 women aged 30-50 years old who randomly assiggned into two groups: intervention group and control group. The results indicate, prior the intervention, respondents‘ knowledge was poor and their attitude toward BSEwas categorized as neutral. After the health education intervention using video, respondents‘ knowledge and attitude was improved.Statistical analysis also confirmed that health education intervention using videoinfluencing the respondents‘ knowledge (p-value = 0,000<0,05)and attitudes (p-value = 0,002<0,05).
Betel Leaf Decoction as an Antiseptic for Perineal Wound Healing
Perineal wound after delivery often causes infection. Perineal wound care can be done by washing the wound using an antiseptic solution. This study is aimed to compare the affectivity of betel leaf decoction for Perineal Wound Healing with the well-known antiseptic, 10% povidone iodine solution. We employed a quasy-experimental research design with non-randomized repeated measure with control group and post-test design. A total of thirty-four normal postpartum women with spontaneous delivery were recruited from a health centers in Banyuurip, Purworejo district, in December 2013 to February 2014, using a purposive sampling technique. The respondents were then distributed equally to control and experimental group. The normal postpartum women at the experimental group obtained betel leaf decoction for the wound recovery whilst the control group washed the wound with a 10%-povidone iodine solution. Either betel leaf decoction or a 10%- povidone iodine solution was given 20ml/day for washing the wound 2 times a day. By the result, we revealed the betel leaf decoction was effectively as 10% povidone iodine solution to heal the perineal wound regarding to the upper arm circumference (UAC), duration of perineal wound recovery, and Hg Level. As the conclusion we recommend betel leaf decoction as a natural antiseptic for perineal wound healing among the normal postpartum women
Association Between Hiv-aids Related Knowledge and Hiv-aids Related Behavior Among Urban Young Adult Men in Indonesia
Indonesia has one of the fastest growing HIV epidemics in Asia and the third country with highest HIV burden and new HIV infection trends after India and China. In 2014, an estimated 660,000 PLHIV lived in Indonesia (AIDS Data Hub, 2015). Eighteen percent of new HIV cases reported in 2011 represent the age group 15-24 years (UNICEF, 2012). Access to information and sexual and reproductive health services for young people is limited. The 2007 IYARHS, which includes young men and women age 15-24 from 33 provinces as respondents, revealed low levels of HIV knowledge among the general young population. Young men had slightly lower levels of knowledge than young women, 13.7% and 15.1%, respectively. Surveys of high school students in six cities during the period 2007-2009 showed the low rates of consistent condom use (below 20 percent), although more than half the respondents were able to identify condom as an HIV prevention tool. In 2011, 49% of the high school students who admitted to have had sex reported that they did not use condoms during their last sexual intercourse. This study is based on a cross- sectional study among 5,933 urban young adult participants of adolescent reproductive health component of the 2012 IDHS. Questions on HIV/AIDS related knowledge and attitudes were from the standard 2012 IDHS never married men‘s questionnaire. Descriptive statistics and bivariate analysis (chi-square) are employed. The result showed that only half of urban young adult men (57.5%) have comprehensive knowledge about HIV-AIDS. Thirteen percent of urban young adult men had engaged to sexual intercourse, while only one fourth of them use condom at first sex and one third of them use condom at last sex. The HIV and AIDS-related knowledge has associated with HIV and AIDS-related behavior among urban young adult men in Indonesia (p value < 0.05).
Anemia During Pregnancy and Preterm Labor
Preterm labor is the second major cause of neonatal mortality after anemia. This study aims to find the correlation between anemia during pregnancy and the incidence of preterm labor at Ambarawa Public Hospital. This was an analytical survey study with cross sectional approach. The population in this study was all mothers who gave birth at Ambarawa Public Hospital during the period of March to October 2013, counted for 817 respondents. Samples were derived by using probability sampling technique employed the simple random sampling. After checking samples‘ eligibility, 159 respondents were involved in the study. Chi-square test was used to find the correlation between anemia during pregnancy and the incidence of preterm labor. The research found that most of pregnant women (73.6 %), were not anemic and did not experience prematur labor. Statistical test shown that there was no correlation between anemia during pregnancy and the incidence of preterm labor at Ambarawa Public Hospital.
Study of Effective Barite Concrete Mix Design for Gamma-ray Attenuation
Preliminary study of heavyweight concrete has been conducted, providing basic information of mix design to attenuate γ-ray. This study summarizes some mixtures and compares with mixtures that are widely used in Thailand since the potential of local materials is needed to be more explored. Proportional determinations of heavyweight mixture are majority affected by workability, density, and material cost; the lack of these data is also another reason in performing this study. We limit our study into barite (BaSO4) because they are highly available in Thailand and we expect to use it for a mass production. Modification experiment is expected to achieve effective barite concrete mixture using local material from Thailand and measure relevancy when it applies in Thailand. This experiment evaluated density of concrete, compressive strength, and linear attenuation coefficient of concrete as parameter to determine the effectiveness of the mixture. 7 different barite concrete mixtures with 3 variations of w/c ratios and 3 classifications of coarse aggregate percentages will be examined. Using Cesium-137 and Cobalt-60 energy sources, linear attenuation coefficient (μ) of barite concrete will be measured with different energies which are 0.662 MeV, 1.173 MeV, and 1.332 MeV. W/c ratio has significant impact to workability, associated to strength of concrete and indirectly influences the concrete density. Not only w/c ratios, percentage of coarse aggregate in mixture also impact to linear attenuation coefficient of concrete. We concluded that the effective barite coarse percentage for appropriate workability but still has high density and strength is 0.65 for all water-cement ratios. Consideration addition percentage of coarse aggregate into mixture must be taken wisely due to segregation effect and voids in concrete. Furthermore, barite concrete has high capability to attenuate γ-ray due to high density. These novel insights may be useful for various applications e.g., nuclear power plant and medical units.
The Relationship Between Characteristics Midwives Private Practice and The Use of Partograph on Delivery Process in Regional Branch in Teluk
Maternal mortality remains at a reproductive health issue that is very important in Indonesia. As a measure of the success of maternal health then one of the main indicators that describe the degree of public health is to look at the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) in the region. This study was to determine - the relationship between characteristics Midwives Private Practice and the use of Partograph on delivery process in Regional Branch, Teluk Naga. Type of analytic survey research with cross sectional study design, this study were 81 respondents using sampling techniques with random sampling. Data is done directly by using questionnaires and data analysis with univariate and bivariate with chi-square calculations. Bivariate analysis obtained education (p = 0,009) and knowledge (p = 0,002) variables there was correlation with the use of partograph. Advice recommended in this study can provide health services in accordance with the standard of patient care. So there is no mistake in giving a diagnosis and subsequent action.
