Effects of Clustering Activities on the Livelihood Assets Improvements in Batik Pungsari Cluster of Sragen, Indonesia
Along with the development of creative industries, especially batik, we need to realize that a cluster needs to look at the combined functions of local economic activities with the social community character so not only focus on increasing local revenue. Batik industry becomes a primadonna for Sragen in improving the economy since 1999. This research aims to determine the value of household livelihood assets of batik cluster activity. Batik Cluster Pungsari still in the early growth stage but has been able to sustain more than 500 business actors. This research found that higher levels of income will cause a higher value of human assets, physical assets, and financial assets except for social assets. In accordance with the Livelihood Approach, households with low incomes or high vulnerability levels still have non-material assets, namely; health, employment, knowledge, and skills. It shows that the existence of batik has a strong influence on livelihood quality improvement
Penanggungan Mountain: Economic Improvement Through The Preservation Of Archaelogical Sites
This research aims to elevate historical tourist destinations of Penanggungan Mountain site. In 2013, Penanggungan Center Team of Ubaya noted there were 131 archaeological sites in there. However, difficult road, extensive site coverage area and this site rarely visited by many people abandoned site makes. In Tenth to Sixteenth Centuries A.D. Penanggungan was a sacred place, this was written in the Kakawin Nagarakertagama which tells of King Hayam Wuruk visiting the hermitage on Penanggungan Mountain. This research was carried out through observation, comparison, and planning. Comparison is made with the Trowulan site as a National Culture Heritage area. Based on this comparison, planning go through step by step. First, sosialization of historical value to local comunity of Penanggungan Mountain. Second, improving the infrastructure. Third, increasing supervision of visitors. The result of this research is improve the economy in Penanggungan Mountain site for local comunity through a tour package
Air Kita : An Enlightenment and Solution
This study concern on how to solve the drought problem that happen every year in Marmoyo Village, Kabuh District, Jombang Regency and make an enlightenment to the society about the importance to use rainwater as another source of water. In this research we are using a qualitative method with observation, interview, and literature study. In the process of the program, we will work together with Air Kita Community which has experience on enlightenment movement in some society about the importance of rainwater. Consider the condition of society in Marmoyo village, cultural approach will be the best solution to enlightened them, and with synergy between stake holder and share holder the program would running optimally so the drought problem would be solved clearly
Optimization of Demographic Bonus Through Smoking Danger Communities to Realize Healthy Generation
In 2020-2030 Indonesia is predicted to enter the Demographic Bonus phase. At present the cigarette excise tax is one of the biggest contributors to the state budget. This is directly proportional to the high number of active smokers in Indonesia. Though cigarettes contain poisons that endanger the health of the younger generation. The above problem makes researchers interested in discussing an idea to provide a development solution to increase the knowledge of the dangers of smoking to children through the Community of Youth Hazards. Smoking is done by promoting referral education, instilling educative reconciliation with two dimensions, constitutional rules and psychological or religious approaches. The purpose of this scientific work is to convey innovative and creative concepts in reducing the frequency of smoking. The method in writing this paper with the study of literature. This Youth Community is a work that focuses on educational reconciliation in optimizing bonus demographics to reduce the frequency of many smoking cases
Traditional Crafts And Rural Economic Development: Case Study Of Traditional Rural Handicraft Industry In Yunnan
The Baishapo Yi village in Yunnan China is located in the middle of the mountainous area. Due to the drought and low precipitation in successive years, the vegetation gradually degenerates and the land is rocky desertification, a sharp decline in crop yields year after year. Large numbers of young and middle-aged farmers have given up on farming and have gone to cities to find new jobs. Local farmers, especially the poor left-behind women, need to find new approach to increase their income. Therefore, relying on rich ethnic cultural resources, Baishapo Yi village has tried to develop the handicraft industry with female craftsmen as its core elements. Indonesia is blessed with a variety of natural resources. The diversity is spread in several regions, one of which is in Ngambon District, Bojonegoro Regency. In this area, there is local wisdom in the form of abundant bananas with superior quality. However, this potential is not matched by efforts to optimize the processing and diversification of products so as to reduce the selling value and existence. Therefore, green design is needed to overcome these problems, one of them is through BONDEV-BC. The purpose of this study is to increase the selling value and existence of bananas through a creative economy with society development. The method used is descriptive qualitative analysis with secondary data to describe the phenomena that occur in the field. Based on the study conducted it can be concluded that the implementation of this program will help develop the potential of banana's wisdom in Ngambon District
Surabaya’s Travelling Funfair : Local Wisdom Resistance of Urban Citizen as a Sustainable Development of Cities and Communities
This study aims to determine the resistance of urban society through the travelling funfair as a part (media) of cultural space production. This research was also conducted to determine the role and function of the travelling funfair as an element of local wisdom which involved in Sustainable Development City and Communities. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method and literature observations. The travelling funfair is a type of market with activities centered at night, generally in the form of commerce and entertainment. The scope of this research is the city of Surabaya, because Surabaya is one of the largest metropolitan cities in Indonesia, Surabaya is also a reference destination for urbanization of the community. The results of this study show that local wisdom in the travelling funfair acts as a medium for the production of urban, cultural and entertainment spaces
Ngudang As Folklore: Parenting Model Based On Javanese Local Wisdom
Family is the first place for children to learn morals and character through communication and interaction processes. Father and mother have the primary obligation to educate good character to children. For the Javanese, this parenting model is contained in their folklore called ngudang. Ngudang in Sanskrit means ‘to be praised’ or ‘expected’. It can be recognized as the cheerful humming sung by parents to their children to cheer them on. This paper aims to explore Javanese parenting model through ngudang. It uses the qualitative approach as the method of research with the data is obtained through observing and literary study on Folklore studies. Through this parenting model, it is hoped to be used as a reference to instill good character traits in children
The Effect of Salam Leaf (Syzygium polyanthum Wight) Decoction to Reduce Uric Acid Levels in Humans' Blood: An Attempt to Globalize Traditional Medicine
Hyperuricemia is the cause of high uric acid in the blood. The use of synthetical medicine has side- effects for our health then it needs herbs such as Salam plant (Syzygium polyanthum Wight). Salam leaf widely used as flavor foods has another benefit to decrease uric acid, economical medicine, and no harmful side-effects. Salam leaf's active ingredients contain flavonoids as an inhibitor of xanthin oxidase enzyme. The aim of the study is as the solution to traditional treatment for hyperuricemia in Asian people, especially Indonesia. The study was implies descriptive method in collecting the data. The use of salam leaf decoction quickly reduce hyperuricemia uric acid levels before and after consuming in the range of 2-3. Therefore, traditional treatment should be developed to manifest a healthy society in Asia
The Evolution Of Social Entrepreneurship In Thailand
Social enterprises began in Thailand in the 1970s. Since then, these dual-mission organisations, which strive to satisfy both economic and social aims, have flourished and are considered by the government as key social innovation drivers. Although the term is familiar to certain groups, the general public awareness remains limited, thus efforts are still required to understand, develop support, and encourage government and stakeholders to facilitate social enterprises for better governance in the country. This paper explores the evolution of social entrepreneurship in Thailand since its beginnings. In doing so, the paper also seeks to contribute to the understanding of the history of Thai social enterprises in relation to the contemporary political and socio-economic context of the country. Finally, the paper briefly compares the social enterprise landscape in Thailand with that of Vietnam in order to draw potential policy implications for Vietnam’s social enterprise legal framework
