    Selection and evaluation of the progress of crosses is important to obtain the percentage change and success of crosses. This study aims to evaluate the percentage change in carnelian color up to the F4 generation and the selection progress in the F4 generation. The research was conducted from August 2017 to August 2020 in Kalukubula village, Sigi Regency, Palu, Central Sulawesi Province. This study was structured using a randomized block design with five carnelian color treatments that were repeated five times. This study used a mass selection method by selecting the carnel color according to the treatment (purple, yellow, white, purple dominant yellow and white dominant purple). Each treatment was planted in one plot for each generation. The seeds were planted using an isolation time of 21 DAS. The results showed that there were three color carnelian characters that experienced an increase in the percentage of color up to the F4 generation, namely Purple (27.68% -70.39%), White Dominant Purple (1.52% -16.91%) and White (5.40% -91.22%), and There are two carnelian color characters that experience a decrease in the percentage of color in the F4 generation, namely Yellow (68.14% -64.31%) and Purple Dominant Yellow (27.00%-5.22%). The character of purple, white, dominant purple and white carnelian color had a significant increase in heritability values ​​in the F4 population, and had an expected genetic progression value (36.94%, 17.56%, 53.55%) and positive selection progress in the F4 generation

    ANALISIS FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI PRODUKSI JAGUNG (Zea Mays) DI DESA LOSSO KECAMATAN SAMPAGA KABUPATEN MAMUJU

    The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the level of maize production (zea mays) in Losso Village, Sampaga District, Mamuju Regency. The method used in this study to determine the truth of the hypothesis in this study is the method of multiple linear regression data analysis. The results showed that the variable of land area partially has a significant effect on the production of corn farmers in Losso Village, Sampaga District, Mamuju Regency because the probability value is 0.000 <0.05 with the t test result of 4.730. In the regression model the coefficient of X1 (land area) is obtained a value of 1.013, where each additional land area of ​​1%, there will be an increase in production yields of 1.013% assuming the amount of capital and permanent labor. While capital does not have a significant effect on the production of corn farmers, this is evidenced by the results of the t test of (1.168) with a probability value of 0.257.The X2 coefficient of capital (M) is (0.280) which means that every 1% increase in capital will result in an increase in production yields of (0.280)%, with the assumption of fixed land area and labor. The labor variable partially does not have a positive and significant effect on the production of corn farmers as indicated by the t test results of 1.303 with a probability value of 0.208. The X3 coefficient of Labor (TK) is 0.204, where every 1% addition of labor, there will be an increase in production output of 0.204%, assuming land area and fixed capital

    This   research   aims to determine the factors that influence farmers' decisions in using hybrid maize seeds. This research was conducted from July to August 2019 in Sigi Biromaru District, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi Province. This research was conducted using a survey method. The determination of the research location was carried out by means of purposive sampling. based on this area the majority of the population is corn farmers. Respondents were determined using the Multistage Random Sampling method, through the following stages, determining the location, determining the farmer groups in each sample village, determining five respondents from each village, in order to obtain a total sample of 20  farmers. The results showed that the factors of age, education, land area, capital, length of farming, extension and access to production facilities together or partially did not have a significant effect on farmers' decisions to use hybrid maize seeds in Sigi Biromaru District, Sigi Regency

    This study aims to determine the amount of production and business acceptance  of clove nurseries CV. Nurhafiza in Pulias village ogodeide district tolitoli regency. The time of the study was conducted in November to December 2018. The determination of the data collection method was derived from primary data and secondary data and the analysis used was the break even point (BEP). The result showed that the principal return point value was reached during the production of 3,922 trees . this means that the production of 3,922 clove nursery business CV. Nurhafiza in pulias village, Ogodeide Tolitoli Regency, was not profitable and did not lose or TR=TC.  Break even point revenue is Rp. 15.689.990, which means that at Rp. 15. 689.990, CV.     PENANGANAN PASCA PANEN DENGAN METODE PENYIMPANAN UNTUK MENGHASILKAN BENIH PADI GOGO (Oryza sativa L.) LOKAL YANG BERKUALITAS

    Post harvest handling is very important to produce quality and high quality seeds. The purpose of this study was to obtain the best post-harvest handling with different storage methods to produce quality and quality seeds with the best germination. This research was conducted in Tamarenja Village (Kalama Valley), Sindue Tobata District, Donggala Regency and seed testing was carried out at the Seed Science and Technology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University. This research was conducted from October 2019 to February 2020. This research was arranged using a two-factor factorial randomized block design (RBD), the first factor consisting of two storage areas, namely: P1 = indoors, P2 = outdoors, while the second factor consists of three storage times, namely: W1 = one month and W2 = two months, and W3 = three months, which was repeated six times so that there were 36 experimental units where each experimental unit consisted of 50 seeds with a total of 1,800 seeds used. Data analysis used Fisher's test and continued with the BNJ test at 1% level. The results showed that the yields stored by hanging outdoors for 3 three months resulted in germination (71.00%), germination time (2.23 days), percentage of moldy seeds (9.33%), and percentage of moldy sprouts (9.33%)

    This study aims to study the growth response and yield of gogo rice at various doses of household waste organic fertilizer. This study uses a randomized block design (RAK) of one factor. Grouping based on sunlight. The treatment that was tried was various doses of household organic liquid fertilizer (POC), namely, POC0 = without POC, POC1 = 200 ml / plant, POC2 = 250 ml / plant, POC3 = 300 ml / plant. The results showed that the treatment of various doses of liquid organic fertilizer had a significant effect on the growth and yield of gogodan rice and the treatment dose of 300 ml / plant had a higher effect compared to other treatments on the growth and yield of gogo rice plants

    This study aims to determine the relationship of social domographic factors with the behavior of farmers in applying pesticides to shallots in Sigi Biromaru District, Sigi Regency. This research uses quantitative methods using univariate analysis for frequency distribution and bivariate analysis (chi square) to determine the correlation between variables. Both use Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) 20.0. Determination of the location of the study was conducted purposively based on previous observations. The area is a center of shallot and horticulture plants in Sigi Regency, namely; Oloboju Village and Bulupountu Village, Sigi Biromaru District. The results of the study concluded that the use of pesticides by shallot farmers was over intensity with the reason for maximum production results. Unwise behavior of farmers in controlling pests and diseases with the high use of pesticides in the field, shows that there is no relationship between age, education, experience and Integrated Pest controlling (IPC) training with the behavior of shallot farmers in applying pesticides

    PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL TANAMAN TOMAT (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill) PADA BERBAGAI JENIS MULSA

    This study aims to determine and explore the growth and yield of tomato plants in various types of mulch carried out in Maku Village, Biromaru District, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi Province. This study was designed using a randomized block design (RAK) of one factor grouped based on plant seed height. The treatment that was tried was to share the type of mulch (M), the treatment of the study was as follows: without mulch, black silver plastic mulch, transparent plastic mulch, 10 t / ha wood sawdust and 10 t / ha rice straw. Each treatment was repeated three times so that there were 15 experimental plots. To find out the effect of the treatment being tried, a variance analysis of 0.05 was carried out. Analysis of variance that showed a significant effect, carried out further tests BNJ α = 0.05. The results of the study showed that the use of various types of mulch had a significant effect on the growth and yield of tomato plants. 10 t / ha straw mulch gives better growth rates and yields of tomato plants, respectively; the height of tomato plants aged 3 and 6 MST was 34.37 cm and 70.27 cm, stem diameters of 3 and 6 weeks were 2.31 mm and 2.41 mm, the number of branches aged 3 and 6 MST was 0.60 and 5.80 pieces, yields I, II and III were 0.93 kg / plot, 0.99 kg / plot and 1.79 kg / plot respectively, the total yield per plot was 3.70 kg / plot and Harvest yield per hectare is 6.17 t / ha
