Significance and challenges of cross-cultural experiences in international exchange:Focusing on a Chinese cultural experience program in Shanghai Ocean University
In this paper, we would like to investigate the Shanghai Ocean University. Mainly about the
standards of overseas student’s selection, the Way how they teach Chinese culture and the real situation
of overseas Students who were send to Japan. Especially, throughout the attempting of Chinese cultural
experiment program, we would like to have a deep discussion about the student's acceptance and
dispatch in an international exchange.departmental bulletin pape
An Investigation of the Auspicious Sign of the 'Vermilion Turtle' in the Temmu Dynasty of Japan
In ancient Japan, influenced by the concept of “harmony between Heaven and Earth,” auspicious
signs held special significance. Among these signs, turtles, symbolizing longevity and good fortune, have
garnered significant scholarly attention. This paper focuses on the rarely discussed “vermilion turtle”
auspicious sign during the Temmu Dynasty. It examines the characteristics of auspicious signs from
the reign of Emperor Kōtoku to Emperor Temmu, analyzing the heightened reverence for the color red
and the increasing symbolic importance of turtles under Emperor Temmu. The study concludes that
the emergence of the “vermilion turtle” during the Temmu Dynasty was not accidental but a historical
inevitability.departmental bulletin pape
An Analysis of Factors Affecting the Level of Personal Goal Achievement and Attitude Change among College Basketball Players -An Analysis of the Men's Basketball Team at University A
In this study, we analyzed the relationship between basketball practice and achievement and the
characteristics of each team. It was suggested that Team A was more competition-oriented and focused
on achievement in games; Team B aimed to improve their individual skills, and was considered to be
engaged in competition with a sense of growth; Team C focused on basic training and bodybuilding; and
Team focused on the development of their physical strength, and was considered to be more focused
on the development of their physical strength. Thus, although the characteristics of each team were
different, it was clear that each team was practicing hard to achieve their own goals. Future studies will
be able to analyze the results in more detail by comparing them with the results of the games and the
growth data of individual players.departmental bulletin pape
On the Chinese Perfective Marker 'le' and the Japanese Perfect Form 'teiru'
According to the definition of aspect and previous research, this paper points out that the basic
meaning of "le" is perfect aspect, not perfect whole. At the same time, the concept of "realization" cannot
distinguish the time stages such as beginning, continuing and completion, and should not be used as
"le". Completion is a condition for the formation of "le". Completion can be gained from context. The
basic function of "le" is to complete. In Japanese, 'ta' means done, while 'teiru' means perfect. Effectual
completion in Japanese can represent temporal relevance, but not in Chinese.departmental bulletin pape
Interaction mechanisms between sensory characteristics and core symptoms in autism spectrum disorder
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) features social/communication difficulties and restricted behaviors/
interests. Growing focus is on distinct sensory processing (hyper/hypo-sensitivity, seeking), linked
to diverse clinical profiles and daily challenges. This review examines, from a mechanistic and
neurophysiological viewpoint, how these sensory characteristics interact with core ASD symptoms and
associated behaviors. It details underlying information processing biases and discusses challenges in
assessment/support. The aim is to enhance understanding of this complex interplay and contribute to
effective, individualized assessment and support development.departmental bulletin pape
Significance of Learning the Content Category “Karada no Ugoki(Physical Movement)” Aspects of “Jiritsu Katsudo(Independent Activity) in Special Support Education Schools for the Physical Disabled -Focusing on the Significance in Children with Severe and Multiple Disabilities-
This paper examines the significance of learning the " Karada no Ugoki (physical movement)"
aspect of independent activities at special needs schools for physically disabled children, particularly for
children with severe and multiple disabilities.
The significance of "physical movement" learning is organized in terms of parallel (integrated
instructional direction), vertical (systematic/developmental) aspects, and its position within the
curriculum.
Furthermore, it is argued that "physical movement" learning not only develops children's physical
and psychological bodies (body awareness, self-recognition, self-consciousness, etc.), but also fosters the
foundations of various cognitive processes within the child's lifeworld.departmental bulletin pape
The Case Study of the Use of Generative AI in Social Studies and Geography and History Pedagogy
In July 2023, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology established
guidelines for school officials to determine the suitability of using generative AI. The curriculum
guidelines position ‘information utilization ability' as a quality and ability that forms the basis of
learning, and emphasize the importance of being able to utilize information technology in learning and
daily life. When using it in school educational activities, it is necessary to judge whether it is effective in
achieving the purpose, and it is appropriate to start with limited use.
Therefore, we will introduce an example of the use of generative AI in "Social Studies/Geography
and History Teaching Methods," a class that includes the use of information and communication
technology that we worked on this year.departmental bulletin pape
An Attempt to Develop Teaching Materials Using Virtual Reality Technology in Athletic Trainer Education -Effectiveness and Challenges of RICE Learning for Ankle Sprain
The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness and challenges of educational materials
utilizing VR technology in the RICE of ankle internal derailment sprains. After having the subjects
randomly view VR and 2D educational materials, they were asked to respond to a questionnaire. As a
result, “reality” and “simulated experience” were significantly higher in the VR materials than in the 2D
materials. Also, “eye fatigue,” “neck pain,” and “headache” were significantly higher in the VR materials
than in the 2D materials. These results suggest that educational materials utilizing VR technology are
useful for realistic learning and simulated experience in RICE for ankle sprain. It was also suggested that
eye, neck, and head discomfort appeared when utilizing VR technology materials.departmental bulletin pape
Effects of shoulder range of motion and corrected rotational angles on ball speed in baseball pitchers
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of shoulder range of motion, humeral
retroversion, and corrected rotational angle on ball velocity in collegiate baseball pitchers. Twenty-one
collegiate baseball pitchers participate in this study. Shoulder range of motion (internal rotation, external
rotation, and total rotation) were measured in a supine position. Additionally, humeral retroversion
angle was assessed using an ultrasound diagnostic device, and the corrected shoulder rotation angle
was calculated. Body height, weight, lean body mass, and grip strength were also measured for all
participants. Ball velocity was measured using a speed gun, and the maximum and average pitching
velocities of five pitches were calculated. Pearson’s correlation coefficients were calculated to examine
the relationship between the measured indicators and ball velocity. The results revealed that shoulder
external rotation range of motion and corrected external rotation angle in dominant arm showed a
significant positive correlation with both maximum and average ball velocity. In the multiple regression
analysis, lean body mass was the only factor selected as a predictor of maximum ball velocity. The
results of this study suggest that while shoulder external rotation range of motion is one of the factors
that explain ball velocity, it is not as strong an influencing factor as lean body mass.departmental bulletin pape
