CONTRIBUTION TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE SPIDER FAUNA (ARACHNIDA, ARANEAE) ON THE FRUŠKA GORA MT.
Fruška Gora Mountain. In this paper 93 species represent new findings for the investigated area, while 17 of them such as Eresus moravicus Rezač, 2008 , Steatoda paykulliana (Walckenaer, 1805), Heterotheridion nigrovariegatum Simon, 1873, Donacochara speciosa (Thorell 1875), Neottiura suaveolens (Simon, 1879), Saloca diceros (O.P.-Cambridge, 1871), Minicia marginella (Wider, 1834), Tetragnatha striata L. Koch 1862, Larinioides suspicax (O.P.-Cambridge 1876), Dictyna civica (Linnaeus, 1758), Clubiona pseudoneglecta Wunderlich, 1994, Gnaphosa opaca Herman 1879, Philodromus marmoratus Kulczynski 1891, Ozyptila scabricula (Westring 1851), Leptorchestes berolinensis (C.L. Koch, 1846), Pseudeuophrys obsoleta (Simon, 1868) and Synageles hilarulus (C.L. Koch, 1851) represent new records for the Serbian spiders fauna. In the manuscript, some new and previous interesting findings are discussed, and some revision of literature data is done
REVIEW OF FAUNISTICAL DATA ON ODONATA IN BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA
This paper deals with faunistical data and taxonomic notes on Odonata in Bosnia and Herzegovina. A database containing all available published, previously unpublished, and new data was made in order to create a review of the current knowledge of the country’s Odonata fauna and point out the priorities in future investigations. 57 Odonata species are listed as resident species in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Of that number, exact data on the occurrence of 6 species (Lestes parvidens, L. macrostigma, Erythromma viridulum, Aeshna grandis, Lindenia tetraphylla and Somatochlora flavomaculata) are presented and discussed here for the first time
CONTRIBUTION TO THE MYRMECOFAUNA (HYMENOPTERA: FORMICIDAE) OF SOME PARTS OF THE ADRIATIC COAST AND SOME ISLANDS IN CROATIA
RANK CORRELATIONS AT THE LEVEL OF SOIL MITES (ACARI: GAMASIDA; ORIBATIDA) FROM CENTRAL PARKS OF BUCHAREST CITY, ROMANIA
The study of soil mites (Acari: Gamasida; Oribatida) was done in three parks in Bucharest city, Cişmigiu, Unirea and Izvor, achieved by transects situated in the lateral sides (near the roads, boulevards or street), or in the middle of these areas. From 72 identified species of mites, 54 were saprophages-detritophages (Oribatida) and 18 predators (Gamasida). In all the parks 22 common species were identified: 14 oribatids and 8 predators. Spearman rank correlations applied between the number of individuals of the species from each park showed an appropriate concordance (rank correlation = r’) between them in Cişmigiu and Unirea parks (r’ = 0.30; r’ = 0.12), Cişmigiu and Izvor parks (r’ = 0.68), in Unirea and Izvor (r’ = 0.19; r’ = 0.05) and a non concordance between those from Cişmigiu and Izvor parks (r’ = - 0.21). Taking into account the correlations among the common decomposer species of the transects from the parks, an appropriate concordance in transects of Cişmigiu and Unirea parks (from r’ = 0.32 for T1-T3, to r’ = 0.58 for T2-T3) and a non concordance in all transects from studied parks (from r’ = - 0.80 for T1-T2 to r’ = - 0.01 for T1-T3) have been recorded. The common predators species have recorded an appropriate concordance in Unirea (r’ = 0.12 for T1-T3) and in Izvor (from r’ = 0.12 for T1-T3, to r’ = 0.51 for T2-T3). The frequency of the common species from these studied parks, which realized multiple possibilities of concordance and fewer possibilities of non concordance, led to the assumption that the soil-vegetation complex of the studied parks have similar characteristics and exercise a positive influence on the presence of the populations of these mites
NEW DATA ON THE GENUS SYRPHUS FABRICIUS, 1775 (DIPTERA: SYRPHIDAE) FROM THE BALKAN PENINSULA INCLUDING THE FIRST RECORD OF SYRPHUS NITRIDIFRONS BECKER, 1921
Four species of the genus Syrphus Fabricius, 1775 have been recorded in the Balkan Peninsula: S. nitidifrons Becker, 1921, S. ribesii (Linnaeus, 1758), S. torvus Osten Sacken, 1875 and S. vitripennis Meigen, 1822. The first documented record of S. nitidifrons from the Balkan Peninsula is provided, as well as keys for both males and females, lists of material examined and distribution maps for each Balkan Syrphus species. Syrphus torvus is new to Croatia. All the studied taxa are widespread throughout the Balkans, except S. nitidifrons, limited to a few mountain localities: Kopaonik Mountain (Serbia), Jahorina Mountain (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Durmitor Mountain (Montenegro). A CONTRIBUTION TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE DRAGONFLIES (ODONATA) FROM THE RIVER MORAČA (MONTENEGRO)
Fauna of dragonflies (Odonata) of the Morača River (Montenegro) was studied during 2007 and 2008. Samples were collected in five localities along the river. Examined sites provide specific living conditions of differently adopted species of dragonflies. During the study 934 individuals classified into 35 species were collected. One of them, Trithemis annulata (Palisot de Beauvois, 1805), was collected for the first time and thereby confirmed the record of this species for fauna of Odonata in Montenegro
CHECKLIST OF JUMPING PLANT-LICE (HEMIPTERA: PSYLLOIDEA) IN SERBIA
The fauna of jumping plant-lice (Hemiptera: Psylloidea) of Serbia is reviewed based on extensive recent field work and previously published data. In total, 63 species are reported, 44 for the first time from the country. The Serbian Psylloidea belong to four families: Calophyidae (1 species), Homotomidae (1 species), Psyllidae (43 species) and Triozidae (18 species). Jumping plant-lice were sampled from 71 plant species from 25 families, of which 63 plants from 21 families were registered as their hosts
A CONTRIBUTION TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF DISTRIBUTION OF THE SPECIES PRENOLEPIS NITENS (MAYR, 1853) (HYMENOPTERA: FORMICIDAE) IN THE SOUTHWEST PART OF THE BALKAN PENINSULA
Study of myrmecofauna in the southwest part of the Balkan Peninsula has a long tradition but it is also characterised by a small number of studies of exclusively faunistic character. Analysis of material collected at Popovo Polje yielded the first record of Prenolepis nitens (Mayr, 1853) in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Subsequent analysis of literature data showed that the species inhabits all of the countries of the western Balkans: Slovenia (Ljubljana), Croatia (wider area of Zagreb and Dalmatia), Montenegro (Kotor) and Serbia (Stara planina). Discovery of Prenolepis nitens (Mayr, 1853) in Bosnia and Herzegovina represents irrefutable evidence of continuity in the distribution area of the species along the southern boarder of the Balkan peninsula and it also makes a significant contribution to the knowledge of distribution of Prenolepis nitens (Mayr, 1853) species across the surveyed area
