ODONATA FROM BULGARIA IN THE COLLECTION OF NATIONAL MUSEUM OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA
The entomological collection of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the oldest Balkan insect collections. Eighty-seven (87) dragonfly specimens from 19 species that originate from Bulgaria were found in this collection. In this paper we present the oldest and till now unknown records of dragonflies from Bulgaria from this collection. Some interesting and new distribution data on several species are also presented and discussed
FLIGHT DYNAMIC OF LEPIDOPTERA OF ECONOMIC IMPORTANCE IN SOMBOR DURING 2010 AND FORECAST FOR 2011
following species: Loxostege sticticalis, Ostrinia nubilalis, Autographa gamma, Helicoverpa armigera, Spodoptera exigua, Lacanobia oleracea, Mamestra brassicae, Agrotis ipsilon, A. exclamationis, A. segetum and Hyphantria cunea. Frequencies are given and compared with averages for the period 1980–2004. The year 2010 was very humid, because temperature conditions were similar to average ones and precipitation was much higher than the long-term average. The hydrophilic species L. oleracea and A. ipsilon showed a frequency much above average; A. gamma and M. brassicae were less frequent than on average, but still had an impact on agriculture production in 2010 in Vojvodina. Usual conditions in July and August favored O. nubilalis and H. armigera, so their impact on agriculture production was also significant. Forecasts suggest increased frequency for the first generation in 2011 of the species L. oleracea, A. exclamationis and H. cunea. A negative trend is predicted for O. nubilalis, but it can still cause significant damage due to the large number of recorded moths. A. segetum is expected to show an increase in some places and a decrease in others, but its frequency was too small to expect widespread damage in 2011. For the species L. sticticalis, A. gamma, H. armigera, S. exigua, M. brassicae and A. ipsilon, long-term forecasts are not presented because of their migratory nature
LIFE HISTORY AND DEMOGRAPHIC PARAMETERS OF APHIS FABAE (HEMIPTERA: APHIDIDAE) AND ITS PARASITOID, APHIDIUS MATRICARIAE (HYMENOPTERA: APHIDIIDAE) ON FOUR SUGAR BEET CULTIVARS
The black bean aphid, Aphis fabae Scopoli (Hemiptera: Aphididae) is one of the important pests of sugar beet in Iran. Aphidius matricariae Haliday (Hymenoptera: Braconidae, Aphidiinae) is a key parasitoid used in various integrated pest management (IPM) programs worldwide. This study was conducted to determine the effects of four cultivars of sugar beet (IC, PP8, Rasoul and Shirin) on biology and demographic parameters of A. fabae and A. matricariae as a step toward biological control of black bean aphid. Experiments were performed in a growth chamber with 25±1ºC, 70±5 % RH and a photoperiod of 16L : 8D hours. Survival rates (lx) of A. fabae and A. matricariae were highest on Rasoul and PP8 cultivars, respectively. The life expectancy of 1-day-old adults of A. fabae and A. matricariae was estimated to be 4.25, 4.3, 4.15, 4.5 and 3.8, 3.8, 3.45, 3.65 days on IC, PP8, Rasoul and Shirin cultivars, respectively. There were significant differences between rm values of A. fabae and A. matricariae on PP8, Shirin and Rasoul cultivars. There were no significant differences between net reproductive rates (Ro) of A. fabae on different cultivars of sugar beet, while there were clear differences in Ro values of A. matricariae on various cultivars. The highest value of Ro for A. matricariae was obtained on Shirin cultivar. The parasitoid performed better on Shirin than other cultivars, while the aphid performance was poorly affected by cultivars. Therefore, we suggest the use of Shirin cultivar to maximize the natural biological control of A. fabae by A. matricariae
ON THE SPECIES OF OCYPUS LEACH OF THE CARPATHIAN BASIN WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO THE SPECIES OF ROMANIA (COLEOPTERA: STAPHYLINIDAE: STAPHYLININAE: STAPHYLININI)
Material of the genus Ocypus Leach from the Carpathian Basin, mainly from Romania, is studied. Fourteen Ocypus species are certainly present for the Romanian fauna. Ocypus serotinus (Ádám, 1992), previously considered a nomen dubium, represents a distinct species. The male genitalia of 12 species are illustrated. A diagnostic key and a catalogue are provided for the Ocypus species of Romania. The distributions of 13 species in Romania are mapped. The distribution in the Carpathian Basin is given for Ocypus kuntzeni (G. Müller), O. tenebricosus (Gravenhorst), O. biharicus (G. Müller), O. macrocephalus (Gravenhorst) and O. ormayi (Reitter)

NEW DATA ABOUT THE DISTRIBUTION OF ANOMALOUS BLUE POLYOMMATUS ADMETUS (ESPER, 1783) (LEPIDOPTERA: LYCAENIDAE) IN CROATIA
decade, however, much new data about the butterflies of Croatia was published, including the finding of several new species for Croatia and the expansion of the known area of distribution for some rare species. Still some species that were recorded almost a hundred years ago in Croatia have not been found since. During the field trips taken in 2009 and 2010 in middle Dalmatia, a rare butterfly species, Anomalous Blue Polyommatus admetus (Esper, 1783), was recorded in several new locations around the Cetina and Zrmanja Rivers. These are the first records of the species in Croatia since the beginning of the 20th century. The known range of the species in Croatia is vastly expanded, although possibly still incomplete
A STUDY OF PRAON HALIDAY (HYMENOPTERA: BRACONIDAE: APHIDIINAE) IN SOUTH-EAST IRAN WITH TWO NEW RECORDS
Aphid parasitoids belonging to Praon Haliday in Kerman Province (South-East Iran) were studied. Parasitoid species were reared from field-collected aphids, and the tritrophic associations of parasitoids, their aphid hosts, and the respective host plants were identified. In total, 18 tritrophic associations were presented, from which seven host aphids, eight host plants and six host aphid-host plant combinations were new for Iran. Two species, P. flavinode (Haliday, 1833) and P. unitum Mescheloff & Rosen, 1988, were recorded for the first time from Iran. FIRST RECORD OF ASPICERA ABBREVIATA BELIZIN (HYMENOPTERA: FIGITIDAE: ASPICERINAE) FROM IRAN
The material of Aspicera collected from Iran has shown that Aspicera abbreviata Belizin 1952 is an aberrant form of A. tobiasi Belizin, 1961. Aspicera abbreviata is redescribed and A. tobiasi is synonymized with A. abbreviata. The morphological differences between this species and the other members of the genus are given, and its most important characters are illustrated. The male of A. abbreviata is described for the first time. This species has been recorded for the first time in Iran
A CONTRIBUTION TO BRACONIDAE, HYBRIZONTIDAE (HYMENOPTERA: ICHNEUMONOIDEA) AND STEPHANIDAE (HYMENOPTERA: STEPHANOIDEA) FROM THE SOUTH-WEST BALKANS
Below is a contribution of faunistic data of forty-two species belonging to the twelve braconid subfamilies and two species of the families Hybrizontidae and Stephanidae. Material has been collected from the South-West Balkans (Serbia, Montenegro, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Greece). There were twenty species newly recorded for certain national faunas.
