    CHECKLIST OF THE ERIOPHYOID MITE FAUNA OF MONTENEGRO (ACARI: PROSTIGMATA: ERIOPHYOIDEA

    Accounts are given of the eriophyoid fauna of Montenegro. Based on the literature records, a total of 156 mite species are listed from 130 host species of 42 plant families. The families Phytoptidae, Eriophidae and Diptilomiopidae are represented by 6, 138 and 12 species, respectively. Fifteen new species for science have been described from this area

    NEW WEEVILS (COLEOPTERA: CURCULIONOIDEA) IN THE SPECIAL NATURE RESERVE ZASAVICA

    This paper presents a new contribution to knowledge of weevil fauna (Coleoptera, Curculionoidea) in Special Nature Reserve (SNR) Zasavica, based on the findings of adults collected in July 2007. There are 54 weevils species listed: 10 from family Apionidae, 3 Nanophyidae, 4 Erirhinidae, 1 Dryophthoridae and 36 Curculionidae. Among them 45 species are new for weevil-fauna of SNR Zasavica. Particularly interesting are 15 new hygrophilous species: Nanophyes brevis, N. globiformis, N. marmoratus, Notaris scirpi, Thryogenes scirrhosus, Stenopelmus rufinasus, Tanysphyrus (Tanysphyrus) lemnae, Bagous nodulosus, Limnobaris dolorosa, Thamiocolus viduatus, Pelenomus commari, P. quadricorniger, P. waltoni, Rhinoncus bruchoides and R. perpendicularis. In this material there are five species registered for the first time for the territory of Serbia - Stenopelmus rufinasus, Ceutorhynchus picitarsis, Pelenomus quadricorniger (=quadricornis), Rhinoncus bruchoides (Hbst.) and Hylobius (Callirus) transversovittatus (Goeze).     PHEROMONE TRAP CATCH OF THE HARMFUL MICROLEPIDOPTERA SPECIES DEPENDING ON THE OZONE CONTENT OF THE AIR IN HUNGARY

    The study deals the efficiency of pheromone trapping of the seven harmful Microlepidoptera species depending on the ozone content of air. Between 2004 and 2011 Csalomon type pheromone traps were operating in Bodrogkisfalud (48°10’ N, 21°21’ E; Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County, Hungary, Europe). We calculated relative catch values from the number of caught insects. We assigned these to the ozone values, we averaged them, and we depicted the results together with the regression equation though.  We established that the pheromone trapping of this species is most fruitful when the ozone content of the air is high. By contrast, low ozone values reduce the successfulness of the catching to a moderate level. Our results will be exploitable in plant protecting and environment conservation research

    FIRST RECORDS OF THE INVASIVE AMERICAN WASP ISODONTIA MEXICANA (HYMENOPTERA: SPHECIDAE) IN SERBIA

    The first verified occurrences of the invasive American sphecid wasp, Isodontia mexicana (Saussure, 1867), in Serbia are reported. It was first collected from a trap-nest sample in the northern surroundings of Belgrade in 2010. During 2012, we recorded well-established, abundant populations in the central city area of Belgrade, its surroundings, and also at a single site on the Fruška Gora Mt. We briefly review the circumstances and course of its recent eastward and northeastward spreading in Europe since1990, from Slovenia and Croatia to Hungary and Austria. Establishment of I. mexicana in northern Serbia and its probable range expansion further south represent the expected continuation of its spreading throughout western Europe, following its initial introduction into southern France around 1960

    This study brings a list of original data of parasitic wasps from the subfamily Aphidiinae collected on the territory of Serbia and Montenegro associated with their aphid hosts and plants. Twenty-three genera and 122 species of Aphidiinae were identified from 204 aphid taxa occurring on 344 plant taxa.     In the city of Nitra research on Sophora japonica L. seeds in five localities (Výstavná street, Andrej Hlinka avenue, Nábrežie mládeže street – University area, City park, Čajkovsky street) was carried out. The field research was realized in 2010. The seeds were evaluated according to the percentage of damaged seeds, the percentage of healthy and germinating seeds, and the percentage of affected but unhatched individuals. The occurrence of parasitoids was monitored as well. The average sample was weighed in a dried state before and after the hatching to measure the weight difference. Data were evaluated by one-way analysis of variance at 95% significance level. Also the impact of location on the number of damaged and healthy seeds was surveyed. An important part of the research was to characterize the external morphological differences between healthy and damaged seeds before the adult hatching. Potentially healthy seeds, not damaged by the pest, were given into Petri dishes, where the ability of undamaged seed germination was studied.  Bruchophagus sophorae Cr. et Cr occurred to a large extent in all selected localities. The total average number of damaged seeds in selected localities was 490. It was found that each locality had germinable seeds able to create a healthy plant.     During field research in 2011 in Banat and Bačka only one male of Theophilea subcylindricollis Hladil, 1988 was found in a field northeast of Lake Palić. This is the third record of it in our country, with one of the two previous recorded sites destroyed by a building construction.
