    Two invasive bruchid species - Bruchidius siliquastri Delobel, 2007 and Megabruchidius tonkineus (Pic, 1914) - found on Mt. Fruška Gora during 2011 and 2012 were recorded for the first time in Serbian fauna. Originating from Asia, these beetles were accidentally introduced into Europe. Data on their introduction into Serbia, distribution, biology and host plant associations are presented and discussed

    Contributions to the Opiinae (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) of Serbia and Montenegro

    This is the first report on the fauna of the subfamily Opiinae (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) in Serbia and Montenegro for the period of 1980 to 1997. The sweeping net method was used for collecting adult specimens from various habitats. mostly in canyons and mountain regions A total of 39 species from 9 genera of Opiinae were identified. Twenty-eight species are recorded as new for the investigated territory; four genera are new for the territory of Serbia, and one genus for the territory of Montenegro

    Theophilea subcylindricollis Hladil, 1988 has been recorded in eastern parts of central Europe, namely Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania (Hoskovec & Rejzek 2009; Löbl & Smetana 2010). It is interesting that neither Serbia (Pil & Stojanović, 2009) nor the Czech Republic (Holomčik, 2013) are listed in Fauna Europaea (Audisio, 2013) although, admittedly, the species was discovered in those two countries only recently

    Two members of the genus Niphargus Schiödte, 1849 (Amphipoda: Gammaridea: Niphargidae) from the subterranean waters of the Balkan Peninsula are treated. Niphargus deelemanae grex ssp. n. is described and figured from Šarbanovac in E Serbia. The species Niphargus jurinaci S. Karaman 1950, scantily described and figured from Crni Lug near Ogulin in Croatia, is redescribed and figured more in detail, based on the type material. The taxonomical position and relations of these two taxa within the genus Niphargus are discussed

    First records of Acizzia jamatonica (Kuwayama) and Glycaspis brimblecombei Moore, (Hemiptera: Psyllidae, Aphalaridae) in Montenegro

    Albizia psyllid, Acizzia jamatonica (Kuwayama), and red gum lerp psyllid, Glycaspis brimblecombei Moore, were found in Montenegro for the first time during 2009 and 2012 respectively. Acizzia jamatonica is native to East Asia, and has spread rapidly in Europe since it was first reported from Italy in 2002. It was first collected from Albizzia julibrissin in Podgorica, September 2009, and subsequently from Albizzia sp. and A. julibrissin in Herceg Novi, October 2010, and June and October 2012, and from A. julibrissin in Kotor, October 2012. Glycaspis brimblecombei is native to Australia, and has been rapidly spreading in Europe since it was first reported from Portugal and Spain in 2007. It was collected on Eucalyptus camaldulensis in Bar, October 2012. Both species of psyllid have the potential to damage amenity trees in urban environments and in commercial plant nurseries

    Diversity of phyllophagous organisms on woody plants in the Botanical garden in Nitra, Slovakia

    This paper deals with identification of phyllophagous organisms colonizing various woody plant species in the Botanical Garden of the SUA (Slovak University of Agriculture). The research was carried out from 2010 to 2012 and the field work took place at two week intervals during the growing season. The main objective was to determine and evaluate the phyllophagous pests according to host plants. Adults, larvae of pests and damaged leaves were collected in a specified locality and documented by herbal samples and macrophotos. The occurrence of non-native insect pests was observed as well. During the research taxa of 108 species of phyllophagous pests on 48 woody plants were recorded. As the results indicate, the most phyllophagous insect species were found on Quercus (16), Acer (12), and Betula (11). The largest number of insect species belongs to the families Lepidoptera (49) and Hemiptera (17). Concerning the alien pests, 10 phyllophagous species were identified. These were Phyllonorycter platani (Staudinger, 1870), Phyllonorycter issikii (Kumata, 1963), Phyllonorycter leucographella (Zeller, 1850), Cameraria ohridella (Deschka & Dimic 1986), Monarthropalpus flavus (Schrank, 1776), Dasineura gleditsiae (Osten Sacken, 1866), Corythuca ciliata (Say, 1832), Aceria erinea (Nalepa, 1891), Aceria pyracanthi (G. Canestrini, 1891) and Aphis craccivora (Koch, 1854). A list of all recorded phyllophagous species in the Botanical Garden is mentioned in Tab. I

    Entomological collections of the Natural History Museum in Belgrade were reviewed. Thirty-six species of the Malachiidae family were identified in the collections of the museum. New species for Serbian fauna are Charopus flavipes Paykull, 1798, Hypebaeus flavipes (Fabricius, 1787), Ebaeus gibbus (Drapiez, 1819), Ebaeus thoracicus (Geoffroy, 1785), Sphinginus lobatus (Olivier, 1790), Clanoptilus falcifer (Abeille de Perrin, 1882), Malachius scutellaris Erichson, 1840, Anthocomus equestris (Fabricius, 1781), Anthocomus coccineus (Schaller, 1783). New species for fauna of Bosnia and Herzegovina are Colotes obsoletus Erichson, 1840 and Hypebaeus flavicollis (Erichson, 1840). Ebaeus gibbus is a new species for Montenegro. An annotated species list is provided. Locations and dates of findings, as well as a distribution of each species and short comments are given

    The aphid fauna associated with various host plants in grassland areas of central Alborz in Iran were studied. The samples were collected from 2002-2010 from different locations  in the southern foothills of  the Alborz Mountains which are a major highland on  the plateau of Iran. Eighty aphid species from 32 genera in association with 168 host plants were collected and identified.  In all, 284 aphid-host plant associations were recorded, 112 of which are new to Iran. Our results showed that grassland areas of central Alborz could be considered as major refugia for aphids from where they migrate to the neighboring cultivated fields. The aphid fauna associated with various host plants in grassland areas of central Alborz in Iran were studied.
