ASIANELLUS FESTIVUS (C.L. KOCH, 1834) (ARANEAE: SALTICIDAE) THE FIRST RECORD FROM SERBIA
Asianellus festivus (C. L. Koch, 1834) is a new species of jumping spider for Serbian fauna. It is recorded at the localities of Bresje and Leštar in the vicinity of Jagodina. Data on biology and ecology of species, photographs of male and female habitus and drawings of copulatory organs are given
AN ANNOTATED CHECKLIST OF CRIOCERINAE (COLEOPTERA: CHRYSOMELIDAE) OF IRAN
A checklist for Iranian Criocerinae Latreille (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) is proposed. Based on a literature review, a total of 13 species within four genera, Crioceris Geoffroy (five species), Lilioceris Reitter (four species), Lema Fabricius (one species) and Oulema Des Gozis (three species), are given. Among the listed species, Lema (Lema) cyanella Linnaeus, 1758 is a new record for the fauna of Iran
RESEARCH ON THE SUBFAMILY CHRYSIDINAE (HYMENOPTERA: CHRYSIDIDAE) FAUNA OF TURKEY WITH DISTRIBUTIONAL EVALUATION
The present study is based on chrysidid samples in the subfamily Chrysidinae collected from various parts of Turkey since the 1970s. A total of 90 species and subspecies are recognized in seven genera: Chrysidea (1), Chrysis (70), Chrysura (13), Pseudochrysis (2), Spinolia (2), Spintharina (1), and Euchroeus (1). Of these, Chrysis verae Semenov 1967 is new for the Turkish fauna. Moreover, Chrysis cingulicornis Förster 1853, Ch. cylindrica Eversmann 1857, Ch. decora Mocsáry 1889, Ch. lepida Mocsáry1889, Ch. marani centropunctata Linsenmaier 1968, Ch. viridissima fasciolata Klug 1845, Chrysura barbatula Linsenmaier 1968, and Pseudospinolia neglectoides (Linsenmaier 1959) are recorded for the first time in the eastern Anatolian region. Those of Chrysis confluens (Dahlbom 1845) and Euchroeus purpuratus consularis Buysson 1896 are recorded from central and eastern Anatolia, Chrysis bytinskii Linsenmaier 1959 from the Mediterranean region, Chrysis krueperi Mocsáry 1897 from the Marmara region, Ch. marginata Mocsáry 1889 from central Anatolia and Mediterranean regions, Ch. lateralis Dahlbom, 1845 from central Anatolia, Chrysura varicornis (Spinola 1838) from the southeastern Anatolian region. New distributional data of most of the taxa are evaluated. The species show different distribution patterns; most of them have been rarely recorded, the rest of them are moderately and frequently recorded. Certain species are recorded from one or two provinces, even with a single sample. For instance, Chrysis aeraria (Mocsáry, 1914), Ch. jucunda Mocsáry, 1889 and Ch. viridissima fasciolata Klug, 1845 are known from one province each. They could be classified as endangered species and should be added to the IUCN red list

NEW DATA ON THE DISTRIBUTION OF XYLOPHAGOUS INSECTS OF OAK AND THEIR PARASITOIDS AND INQUILINES IN SERBIA
A study of the biology of the oak bark beetle Scolytus intricatus at 41 localities in Serbia during the period from 1992 to 1998 yielded an abundance of data on the distribution of insects associated with it or inhabiting the same plant material as it. Some of these data have been published, but the majority have not. Previously unpublished data are presented in this study, providing a list of 58 insect species from 4 orders, 15 families and 45 genera. For each insect, the locality, date of collecting, as well as the species of oak on which it was collected are listed
DISTRIBUTION OF SOME EUROPEAN LEPIDOPTERA BASED ON THE FINDINGS OF THEIR NON-ADULT STAGES PRESENTED THROUGH TROPHIC ASSOCIATIONS AND A QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS OF THEIR PARASITOIDS
We examined 638 Lepidoptera specimens on the territories of 13 European countries in our search for parasitoids. We collected eggs, larvae and pupae. In total, 251 Lepidoptera species were identified, belonging to 169 genera from 30 families. Of the total sample, approximately one-third (32.23%) were parasitized. In 168 samples (26.42%), we identified only one parasitoid species per host. In addition to these data, 224 plant species from 114 genera were identified, of which the vast majority were feeding plants
NEW FINDINGS OF HOVERFLY FAUNA (DIPTERA: SYRPHIDAE) OF THE WESTERN PART OF SERBIA (ZLATIBOR AND RAŠKA DISTRICTS)
During a three year systematic sampling of the hoverfly fauna in highlands of western Serbia, 150 hoverfly species of 51 genera were recorded for this region. Eumerus ovatus Loew, 1848, new to the fauna of Serbia, was recorded on mountain Zlatibor. Additionally, 4 new hoverfly species from the genus Merodon Meigen, 1803 were found, awaiting species descriptions. The most species-rich areas in the investigated region are SW part of Mt. Golija and SE part of Mt. Zlatar. These mountains also have the highest number of protected and strictly protected species. In order to preserve this high local diversity of hoverflies, protection of these areas, as well as proper conservation management are of crucial importance
SPIDERS (ARANEAE) OF THE DELIBLATO SANDS (SERBIA)
The Special Nature Reserve “Deliblato Sands” in Serbia is the largest European continental sand area situated between the Danube River and western Carpathian slopes. Forestation, agriculture and fire are the main threats to this landscape. While plants and vertebrates are well known in this area, spiders were researched for the first time. Collecting with pitfall traps, sweep nets and beating in four different habitat types during a whole vegetation period yielded 1120 adult specimens and 96 species. Eight species represent first records for the Serbian fauna: Atypus muralis Bertkau, 1890, Gnaphosa muscorum (L. Koch, 1866), Zelotes segrex (Simon, 1878), Mecopisthes peusi Wunderlich, 1992, Oxyopes heterophthalmus (Latreille, 1804), Heliophanus lineiventris Simon, 1868, Simitidion simile (C. L. Koch, 1836) and Xysticus mongolicus Schenkel, 1963. In our study, six of these species were restricted to the open sandy habitat, highlighting the special importance of this unique habitat type
INTERESTING SPECIES OF THE FAMILY GEOMETRIDAE (LEPIDOPTERA) RECENTLY COLLECTED IN SERBIA, INCLUDING SOME THAT ARE NEW TO THE COUNTRY’S FAUNA
Seventeen very interesting species were found in studying the fauna of Geometridae of Serbia. Ten of them are new to the fauna of Serbia (Ennomos quercaria, Anticollix sparsata, Colostygia fitzi, Eupithecia absinthiata, E. alliaria, E. assimilate, E. millefoliata, E. semigraphata, Perizoma juracolaria and Trichopteryx polycommata); five are here recorded in Serbia for the second time (Dyscia raunaria, Elophos dilucidaria, Eupithecia ochridata, Perizoma bifaciata and Rhodostrophia discopunctata); and two are recorded for the third time (Nebula nebulata and Perizoma hydrata). Information regarding where and when they were all found is given herein
ON THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE LATTICE BROWN, KIRINIA ROXELANA (CRAMER, 1777) IN SOUTHERN CROATIA (LEPIDOPTERA: NYMPHALIDAE)
New observations of lattice brown, Kirinia roxelana (Cramer, 1777) in southern Croatia are presented. The species has been recorded at 11 new localities across the mainland part of Dubrovnik-Neretva County. As the species inhabits mostly rural areas, more targeted surveys in such habitats are needed to provide additional records. The specificity of this habitat is also the main reason why the species has so rarely been observed in Croatia. New records represent an important addition to the knowledge of the distribution of this species and illustrate the lack of faunistic research in the region
