Empathy is a crucial social skill that significantly influences the interpersonal development of early childhood. Defined as the ability to understand and share the feelings of others, empathy fosters prosocial behaviors such as helping, sharing, and cooperating. This study investigates the approaches employed by educators to cultivate empathy among young children in a preschool setting, specifically focusing on Class B at Taman Kanak-Kanak Tunas Bangsa Cipadung, Bandung. The research adopts a descriptive qualitative methodology, utilizing observation and interview techniques to gather data from teachers and students. Analysis was conducted through continuous data validation using triangulation to ensure reliability. Findings reveal that the preschool utilizes a constructivist approach to instill empathy, emphasizing active learning and social interactions among children. Key strategies include group work and habituation of prosocial behaviors, which facilitate the development of empathy through hands-on experiences. Observations indicated that children demonstrated cooperative behaviors, such as sharing toys and assisting peers in need, reflecting an early understanding of empathy. Additionally, the constructivist methods applied by teachers, rooted in the principles of Piaget and Vygotsky, align with the psychopedagogical foundations of the 2024 Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes student-centered learning and social-emotional competence

    Get PDF
The ability to speak Arabic is crucial for individuals learning the language, particularly for religious, academic, and professional purposes; however, many learners struggle to achieve fluency due to a lack of understanding of the cultural and social context. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with literature review as the data collection technique to explore how social communication and da'wah contribute to improving Arabic speaking skills. The hypotheses proposed are that social communication has a positive influence on improving speaking skills, da'wah as a communication medium contributes significantly to the development of speaking skills, and the combination of the two has a greater impact than either method alone. The results show that social communication creates an interactive environment that supports speaking practice, while da'wah enhances students' understanding of language structures and vocabulary appropriate to the social context. The combination of these two elements has proven effective in improving Arabic speaking skills, so this study is expected to contribute to the development of more interactive and applicable Arabic language learning methods

This study aims to examine the meaning of zakat in the Qur'an through Paul Ricoeur's hermeneutic approach with a focus on symbolism, text, and the process of refiguration. Through Ricoeur's hermeneutic theory, this study explores how zakat can be understood more deeply as a symbol of purification, social solidarity, and economic justice, and how the Qur'anic texts about zakat can be reinterpreted according to contemporary challenges and needs. This study uses a qualitative method with data collection techniques in the form of literature studies. The main data sources for this study are the verses of the Qur'an related to zakat, classical and contemporary interpretations, and literature on Paul Ricoeur's hermeneutics. The data were analyzed using Ricœur's hermeneutic approach which emphasizes understanding symbolism and the process of refiguring texts. The results of the study show that Paul Ricoeur's hermeneutic approach provides a new framework for understanding zakat. Zakat is understood not only as a financial obligation, but also as a symbol that reflects the values of social justice and purification of the soul. Ricœur's theory of textual autonomy allows for a rereading of the zakat verses in a modern context, where challenges such as economic inequality and global poverty are increasingly pressing. The process of reinterpretation allows zakat to remain relevant and serve as an instrument of economic empowerment and wealth distribution in modern society

    Get PDF
This study examines the impact of parental involvement on character development in students at SDN 1 Basungkai. The aim of this research is to understand the contribution of parental involvement in fostering discipline, responsibility, and moral values among students, while also addressing the lack of research on the structural role of parents in character education. A qualitative descriptive approach was used, with data collection through interviews and observations to explore the interactions between parents, teachers, and students. The findings indicate that parental involvement has a positive influence on students' character development. However, informal forms of involvement, such as brief visits to the school and casual discussions with teachers, have limited long-term effects. Barriers such as work commitments and complex family situations also restrict the consistency of parental involvement. Nevertheless, this study highlights that structured collaboration between parents and schools through regular communication can enhance the effectiveness of character formation in children. The limitation of this study lies in its qualitative data from a single school, which affects the generalizability of the results. Future research is recommended to incorporate quantitative analysis in various school settings to strengthen and broaden these finding

Gendered constructions of the father's role result in a lack of fathers' attention and care for children and domestic duties. This research is deemed urgent given the importance of fathers' roles in parenting and household activities. This study will examine verses that suggest fatherhood in depth, including its elements: emotional closeness, provision, protection, and endowment. This article presents interpretations of classical scholars considered gender-biased, then a feminist interpretation is presented as a gender-just interpretation to create equality and mutuality in childcare, furthermore allowing for the exchange of roles in household chores. The purpose of this reinterpretation is none other than to achieve the maqashid sharia, because times are always changing while the Qur'an is a guide for humans and is relevant at all times and places. This article is included in the type of qualitative research with a literature study approach. The results found that there are verses related to the concept of fatherhood that are still gender-biased, thus requiring a feminist interpretation lens as a response to create a more gender-just interpretation. With a feminist interpretation lens, fathers can spend more time with their families, both in childcare and sharing household chores with mothers (wives)
