An Analysis of the Egyptian Economy before and after COVID-19
The Arab Republic of Egypt is in the middle of economic reform while coping with the COVID-19 after she was assisted by a series of rescue programs by the International Monetary Fund due to aggravated and continuous budget deficits in 2016. The country is still young with average age of 24.6 years old and expecting to be in the period of population dividends soon. The paper analyzes the current state of the Egyptian economy in the first half. In the second half, the paper looks at the impact of the COVID- 19. The paper investigates debt sustainability and see the debt is still sustainable even incorporating the increase in fiscal spending relevant to the COVID-19. Then, the paper builds two panel econometric models with GDP growth rate as a dependent variable and macroeconomic variables as controlling variables including the case of the COVID-19 in order to quantify the adverse impact of the COVID-19 on GDP growth rate. The model finds that Egypt was so far successful to manage the adverse impact of the COVID-19 on her economy.departmental bulletin pape

An Analysis of Demonstratives in Japanese and Chinese : A Comparison of Japanese "A" and Chinese "Zhe" and "Na" in the same scene
Japanese has three demonstratives: the Ko-series, the So-series and the A-series.
Chinese has two: Zhe and Na. This paper considers some cases of how these systems
relate to each other in conversations. The A-series are used to denote information held
in common between a speaker and a listener, whereas in Chinese commonly-held
information is denoted with Zhe and Na. The A-series are used even in the absence of
a clear referent; for example, the referent may only exist in memory. This use is termed
“memory demonstratives.” In Chinese, Na is used to indicate information that exists
outside the territory of the speaker and the listener. Zhe is used if that information is
introduced into the conversation and becomes the topic of conversation.departmental bulletin pape
Some thoughts on the Christian Evangelism in Japan : What does Paul Rusch, Father of Kiyosato, tell us about?
The person who laid foundation of modern Kiyosato (Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan)
was Paul RUSCH, an American lay missionary of the Anglican Church. He introduced
know-hows about the modern agriculture and tourism to Kiyosato after World War Ⅱ.
Kiyosato’s post-war success is mainly due to Rusch’s first-class effort, thanks to which
the area continues attracting tourists from regions like Kanto and Chubu in Japan.
Being a Christian missionary full of passion, he built St. Andrew’s Church in
Kiyosato, hoping that one day Christianity would prevail in Kiyosato and Japan. How
successful has this endeavor been? Why has the Christian population in Japan
remained small despite the efforts by passionate missionaries like Rusch? Can we find
any similarities among the Christian and Japanese cultural traditions? How will the
religious landscape change once Christianity becomes a major religion in Japan?
With these research questions in mind, and taking Kiyosato St. Andrew’s Church as
a starting point, this paper will give some thoughts on Christian evangelism in Japan
from an intercultural understating point of view.departmental bulletin pape
