    Oral Argumentation under Constraints: A Qualitative Study of Critical Thinking in Indonesian Higher Education

    This study aims to explore the constraints that hinder the realization of critical thinking in students’ oral argumentation in higher education contexts. The study employed an interpretive qualitative case study design. The participants were four purposively selected lecturers who teach speaking courses emphasizing argumentative discussion at Universitas Muhammadiyah Bone. They had at least one semester of experience facilitating academic speaking activities and were selected through maximum variation sampling to capture diverse instructional perspectives. Data were collected through classroom observations, audio recordings of academic speaking activities, and interviews with lecturers. Thematic analysis was conducted iteratively to identify recurring linguistic, affective, and pedagogical constraints. The findings indicate that students’ oral argumentation is largely dominated by descriptive claims, with limited use of evidence, warrants, and rebuttals, revealing a gap between students’ critical thinking potential and their oral performance. This gap is affected by related language issues, like having a small vocabulary and not speaking smoothly; emotional factors, such as anxiety and fear of being judged; and teaching conditions, like not having enough training in argumentation and support for academic reading and writing. The study concludes that critical thinking in oral argumentation should be understood as a context-dependent and discursive practice rather than merely an individual cognitive ability. So, the research highlights the importance of teaching methods that combine language skills, emotional support, and clear training in argumentation to help improve critical thinking through speaking in higher education

    The Augmentation of Societal Cognizance Regarding the Harnessing of Natural Endowments with the Agrotourism Consept

    Low community resources and limited knowledge in Betteng Village impede the development of significant yet unintegrated local potential, particularly in the agriculture and tourism (Pattumea') sectors. This study aims to increase community cognizance regarding the utilization of these natural resources through the agrotourism concept, in order to provide a pathway for integrated village development. The method used was a participatory approach, including outreach, lectures, and intensive group discussions to socialize the concept, its economic impacts, and the practical integration between agriculture (such as sugar palm and durian) and local tourism. The activity results showed high enthusiasm and a clear increase in knowledge among participants. The community demonstrated a better understanding of how to integrate their agricultural products with the Pattumea' tourism site as an economic driver. This increase in knowledge is a crucial first step for community empowerment in planning sustainable development

    Karakterisitik Marshall Campuran Aspal AC-WC Dengan Bahan Tambah Graphene Yang Dipapar Pada Ambient temperature

    Peningkatan suhu permukaan bumi dan kondisi iklim tropis yang fluktuatif dapat mempercepat penuaan aspal dan menurunkan performa perkerasan jalan, khususnya pada lapisan Asphalt Concrete–Wearing Course (AC-WC). Salah satu pendekatan untuk mengurangi dampak ini adalah penambahan graphene , nanomaterial yang mampu meningkatkan ikatan antara aspal dan agregat. Penelitian ini mengevaluasi pengaruh graphene  sebesar 0,04% terhadap karakteristik Marshall  campuran AC-WC yang dipaparkan pada ambient temperature  dengan suhu rata-rata harian 27°C (23,9–31,8°C) dan kelembapan rata-rata 87,93%. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa campuran dengan graphene  mempertahankan stabilitas lebih lama dibanding campuran normal, dengan peningkatan awal hingga 12,87%, sedangkan flow  meningkat 15,68% secara bertahap dengan laju lebih rendah, dan Marshall  quotient lebih tinggi pada awal hingga pertengahan pemaparan. Penambahan graphene  secara keseluruhan memperlambat degradasi campuran AC-WC akibat fluktuasi suhu dan kelembapan tinggi, sehingga meningkatkan ketahanan dan ketegaran struktural campuran pada kondisi tropis

    Implementation of Artificial Intelligence–Integrated Project-Based Learning to Enhance Digital Entrepreneurship Literacy and Student Engagement in Economics Education

    The rapid advancement of digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI) has significantly influenced higher education practices, demanding innovative pedagogical models that foster students’ digital competence, creativity, and engagement. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of an artificial intelligence (AI)-integrated project-based learning (PjBL) model in improving digital entrepreneurship literacy (DEL) and learning engagement (LE) among students in economics education. This study employed a two-cycle classroom action research design involving 28 third-semester students enrolled in the Microeconomics course at Universitas Nusantara PGRI Kediri. Data were collected using six instruments: the Digital Entrepreneurship Literacy Scale, the Learning Engagement Scale, the project rubric, the observation sheet, the digital activity log, and reflective interviews. Quantitative analyses included paired-samples t-tests, N-gain, and Pearson correlations, while qualitative data were analyzed thematically. The results showed a significant improvement in both DEL and LE following implementation of the AI-integrated PjBL model. The mean DEL score increased from 76.04 to 102.96 (n-gain = 0.623; p < 0.001), and the mean LE score increased from 60.75 to 79.75 (n-gain = 0.661; p < 0.001). Observations and digital activity logs revealed higher behavioral and cognitive engagement during the learning process. Qualitative findings indicated that students utilized AI tools such as ChatGPT, Google Sheets AI, Gemini, and Canva AI for market research, price elasticity simulations, and digital content design in creative and ethical ways. The study concludes that integrating AI into the PjBL framework effectively enhances students’ digital entrepreneurship literacy, fosters reflective engagement, and supports the development of adaptive, ethical, and innovative learners in economic education

    Manarang Module Based on Ethnomathematics and Augmented Reality to Enhance Students’ Metacognitive in Society 5.0

    The low metacognitive abilities of students in West Sulawesi and the limited availability of digital learning media that integrate local wisdom are problems faced by teachers in the 5.0 society. The ethnomathematics and Augmented Reality (AR) approaches can be used as solutions to these problems through the use of the Mandar culture of Pattu'du Kumba dance, which contains geometric elements and philosophical values. This study aims to develop Manarang as an ethnomathematics and AR-based digital teaching module to improve students' metacognitive abilities. The research method used was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The participants were 26 eleventh graders and one mathematics teacher. The instruments used included teacher and student response questionnaires, as well as pre-tests and post-tests validated by two validators. The results showed that the Manarang Module was valid, practical, and effective as a digital learning module on geometric transformation learning. The effectiveness assessment using the paired sample t-test (p = 0.000 < 0.05) and N-gain score of 0.62 represented a moderate improvement towards students' metacognitive skills. This product is expected to support interactive and contextual learning that is able to improve students' metacognition in realizing quality education

    Exploration of Biology Learning Based on Local Wisdom in Central Java Indonesia

    This research aims to explore the form of local wisdom that can be integrated in Biology learning at the high school level and analyze the challenges and opportunities for its implementation within the management of the Biology Subject Teacher Conference (Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran/MGMP) of the Senior High School of Central Java Province, Indonesia. The approach used is qualitative with exploratory methods and case studies, involving interviews, Focus Group Discussions, observations, and document analysis. The subject of the study is MGMP Biology administrators who are experienced in the development of locally-based learning. The results of the study show that local wisdom such as nyadran, ngapem traditions, herbal medicine, medicinal plant utilization, and ecosystem observation have been successfully integrated into Biology learning and have a positive impact on students' cognitive abilities, affective attitudes, and psychomotor skills. However, there are several obstacles, such as limited teaching materials, lack of teacher training, lack of collaboration with the community, and limited time and curriculum flexibility. Therefore, collaboration is needed between MGMP, schools, local governments, and universities to develop contextual teaching tools, provide teacher training, and design policies that support Biology learning based on local wisdom values to be more relevant and meaningful for students

    Efektivitas Program Anti Perundungan Berbasis Empati dalam Mewujudkan Sekolah Yang Ramah dan Bersahabat di SD Negeri Kakatua Makassar

    Kasus perundungan di lingkungan sekolah masih menjadi masalah yang berdampak pada kesejahteraan psikologis, hubungan sosial, serta iklim pembelajaran peserta didik. Kondisi ini menuntut adanya upaya kolaboratif antara sekolah, guru, dan pihak terkait untuk membangun lingkungan belajar yang aman, ramah, dan bersahabat melalui penguatan nilai empati dan kepedulian sosial. Berdasarkan kebutuhan tersebut dilaksanakan kegiatan PKM berupa program anti perundungan berbasis di SD Negeri Kakatua Makassar. Program dilaksanakan oleh tim dosen dan mahasiswa melalui tiga tahap, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, evaluasi, dan tindak lanjut dengan bentuk kegiatan berupa edukasi, pelatihan, deklarasi anti perundungan, dan pemilihan duta anti bullying di sekolah. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan PKM menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik memberikan respons yang sangat positif dengan nilai rata-rata angket sebesar 92%, yang mencerminkan tumbuhnya empati, kepedulian sosial, dan komitmen dalam mencegah perundungan di lingkungan sekolah. Peningkatan pemahaman peserta didik terhadap materi pencegahan perundungan juga tampak melalui perbandingan hasil pretest dan posttest, di mana nilai setelah program menunjukkan peningkatan yang bersifat signifikan dibandingkan dengan sebelum pelaksanaan program. Selain itu, hasil angket kepuasan mitra (guru atau pihak sekolah) mencapai 97%, yang menunjukkan bahwa program dinilai relevan, bermanfaat, dan mendukung terwujudnya iklim sekolah yang ramah, bersahabat. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat menegaskan bahwa program anti perundungan berbasis empati yang dilaksanakan berdampak positif dalam memperkuat pemahaman, sikap empati, serta membangun kesadaran peserta didik terhadap pencegahan perundungan, sehingga mendukung terwujudnya lingkungan sekolah yang ramah dan bersahabat di SD Negeri Kakatua Makassar

    Diversity of Fish Species Sold at Paccing Market, Awangpone District, Bone Regency Based on Morphological Identification

    This study aimed to identify and describe the diversity of fish species sold at Paccing Market, Awangpone District, Bone Regency, through morphological identification. The research was conducted on June 26 and July 4 using a qualitative descriptive approach with purposive sampling techniques. Primary data were obtained through direct field observations, while secondary data were collected from relevant literature sources. The results revealed seven fish species originating from different aquatic habitats, including Chanos chanos, Oreochromis niloticus, Rastrelliger brachysoma, Mugil cephalus, Katsuwonus pelamis, Pennahia macrocephalus, and Sardinella gibbosa. Each species exhibits distinctive morphological characteristics as adaptations to its specific environment. These findings indicate that Paccing Market serves as a marketing site for diverse fish resources, reflecting the high potential for fish diversity in Bone Regency, which is supported by relatively stable oceanographic conditions and active community fishing practices. Therefore, sustainable management and utilization of these fisheries resources are essential to maintain ecological balance and economic continuit

    Penguatan Literasi Cerita Rakyat melalui Pelatihan Berbasis AI ChatGPT di Desa Naiola

    Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru, siswa, dan tokoh masyarakat dalam menulis dan menuturkan cerita rakyat berbasis teknologi kecerdasan buatan (AI) ChatGPT serta memperkuat literasi budaya lokal di Desa Naiola, Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara, Nusa Tenggara Timur. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada 30 Agustus 2025 di Kantor Desa Naiola dengan melibatkan 20 peserta yang terdiri atas 4 tokoh masyarakat, 8 guru, dan 8 siswa. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif melalui ceramah, demonstrasi, praktik langsung (storytelling), dan diskusi interaktif yang dilakukan secara luring. Kegiatan ini meliputi tiga tahapan utama, yaitu: (1) penyampaian materi pengertian dan bentuk cerita rakyat; (2) pelatihan penulisan cerita rakyat berbasis AI ChatGPT; dan (3) pelatihan penuturan cerita rakyat melalui metode storytelling. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan peserta pada tiga aspek utama. Pertama, pemahaman materi cerita rakyat meningkat dari rata-rata pre-test 56,3 menjadi 67,5 pada post-test, dengan 75% peserta mengalami peningkatan. Kedua, pelatihan penulisan berbasis AI mampu meningkatkan kreativitas dan keterampilan literasi digital peserta. Ketiga, kemampuan penuturan siswa meningkat signifikan dari rata-rata 47,5 menjadi 76,3, dengan seluruh siswa mengalami peningkatan dalam aspek ekspresi dan struktur bercerita. Dengan demikian, kegiatan PKM ini memberikan manfaat dalam meningkatkan literasi budaya, keterampilan menulis dan menuturkan cerita rakyat, serta kesadaran pelestarian nilai budaya lokal melalui pemanfaatan teknologi AI dalam pembelajaran

    Development of Agrotourism in Pamboborang Village Based on Geographic Information System (GIS) through a Community Based Tourism (CBT) Approach

    Background: Village development is a strategic effort to improve community welfare through the sustainable utilization of local potential. In Majene Regency, particularly in Pamboborang Village, there is significant potential in the agricultural and tourism sectors, such as agrotourism based on shallot farming and natural tourism objects that support local economic development. However, the management of tourism and supporting facilities still faces challenges. Therefore, the utilization of Geographic Information System (GIS) technology combined with a Community Based Tourism (CBT) approach is expected to provide a strategic solution in the planning and sustainable development of agrotourism. Purpose of the Study: This study aims to identify the potentials of Pamboborang Village related to agrotourism development and to formulate strategies for developing agrotourism in the village through the utilization of GIS with a CBT approach to improve the welfare of the local community. Methods: The study employs both quantitative and qualitative approaches with data collected through observation, identification, and interpretation of phenomena in the field. Analysis was conducted using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) for multi-criteria decision-making to establish priority strategies, combined with descriptive analysis to gain deep understanding. The research was conducted in Pamboborang Village, Banggae District, Majene Regency, from February to April 2023
