THE INFLUENCE OF HALAL LABELS, PRODUCT QUALITY, AND LIFESTYLE ON THE PURCHASE DECISION OF IMPORTED PRODUCTS (IN PACKAGING): PENGARUH LABEL HALAL, KUALITAS PRODUK, DAN GAYA HIDUP TERHADAP KEPUTUSAN PEMBELIAN PRODUK IMPOR (DALAM KEMASAN)
This study aims to analyze the influence of halal labels, product quality, and lifestyle on the purchase decision of packaged imported food products by students of State Islamic Religious Universities (PTKIN) in North Sumatra. The phenomenon of increasing consumption of imported products among Muslim students raises questions about the extent to which religious, rational, and psychological factors play a role in determining purchasing decisions. This study uses a quantitative method with a multiple linear regression approach. Data was obtained through the distribution of questionnaires to 100 PTKIN student respondents in North Sumatra who were selected using the purposive sampling technique. Data analysis is carried out with the help of SPSS software. The results of the study show that three independent variables, namely halal labels, product quality, and lifestyle, have a significant effect on the purchase decision of imported food products in packages. Halal labels are the dominant factor that influences purchase decisions because they provide a guarantee of halal and consumption safety for Muslim students. Product quality has also proven to be an important consideration in assessing the feasibility and quality of the product, while lifestyle reflects the psychological factors that encourage students to choose products according to their trends and self-image. These findings suggest that college students' purchasing decisions are not only driven by religious values, but also by rational considerations and modern lifestyles. The implications of this research encourage business actors to pay attention to halal aspects, maintain product quality, and adjust marketing strategies to the characteristics of young Muslim consumers
THE EFFECT OF THE SCHOOL LITERACY MOVEMENT ON INCREASING THE READING INTEREST OF GRADE III ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS: PENGARUH GERAKAN LITERASI SEKOLAH TERHADAP PENINGKATAN MINAT BACA SISWA KELAS III SEKOLAH DASAR
The low interest in reading of students is still a fundamental problem in the world of education in Indonesia. Although the School Literacy Movement (GLS) has been implemented in various educational units, its implementation has not fully shown optimal results. This study aims to determine the influence of the School Literacy Movement on the reading interest of grade III students at SD Negeri 85 Pekanbaru. The study used a quantitative approach with an ex post facto design, in which the researcher did not provide a direct treatment, but analyzed the relationship between the independent variable (GLS) and the bound variable (students' reading interest). The research sample was 31 students. Data were analyzed using validity, reliability, descriptive statistics, normality tests, and simple regression analysis with the help of the SPSS 25 for Windows program. The results of the study show that all items of the instrument are declared valid and reliable with values. The results of a simple regression analysis showed that the School Literacy Movement had a significant effect on students' reading interest with a significance R Square value of 0.000 < 0.05. This means that GLS contributes 60.3% to the increase in students' reading interest, while 39.7% is influenced by other factors such as family support and literacy facilities. The implications of this study show that the success of the implementation of GLS does not only depend on the routine of reading activities, but also on the support of a conducive learning environment, a variety of interesting reading materials, and the role of teachers and parents in fostering a literacy culture at school and at home
IMPLEMENTATION OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN ACHIEVING SCHOOL QUALITY
This study aims to describe the implementation of continuous development, based on the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle, at SDN Abirau, Banjar Regency, to enhance school quality holistically. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, utilizing data collection techniques such as in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation analysis involving the principal, teachers, and educational staff. Data analysis followed Miles and Huberman's interactive model, with source and method triangulation used to ensure data validity. The findings indicate that SDN Abirau has implemented end-of-semester reflections, teacher professional training, communities of practice, learning outcome evaluations, and the PDCA cycle in its quality management. Supporting factors include visionary leadership, a strong teacher community, and a reflective culture. Conversely, the main obstacles are time constraints, incomplete documentation, mismatched training materials, and uneven teacher participation. The study's novelty lies in the integration of comprehensive stakeholder involvement and the utilization of real-time data within the elementary school context. Practical recommendations include strengthening the training needs analysis, improving PDCA documentation, increasing the frequency of teacher communities, enhancing participation in evaluations, and fostering a continuous improvement culture supported by adequate resources. Consequently, continuous development serves as an effective strategy for improving school quality systematically and sustainabl
ANALYSIS OF THE PRIORITY ZONE OF SPAM IN THE EAST AND NORTH BINJAI REGIONS: ANALISA ZONA PRIORITAS SPAM MEBIDANG DI WILAYAH BINJAI TIMUR DAN BINJAI UTARA
Currently, PDAM Tiratasari is facing significant challenges in providing optimal drinking water services to the residents of Binjai City. The main issues stem from the low level of service caused by limited production capacity and an inadequate distribution pipeline network. This situation arises because PDAM Tiratasari relies solely on a single Water Treatment Plant (IPA), namely IPA Marcapada, which is insufficient to meet the growing demand for clean water in line with population growth and regional development. As a strategic effort to increase production capacity and expand the distribution network, the Regional Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM) Program for the Mebidang area—covering Medan, Binjai, and Deli Serdang—has become an essential solution. The Mebidang SPAM, sourced from the Bingei River in Binjai City, has been inaugurated and is designed to serve up to 88,000 household connections or approximately 440,000 people, with a production capacity of 1,100 liters per second. This program is the result of synergy between the central, provincial, and local governments, and is expected to significantly improve access to safe drinking water, particularly in the priority development areas of Binjai Utara and Binjai Timur subdistricts. This study aims to determine the priority areas for the development of the Main Distribution Network (JDU) of the Mebidang SPAM in Binjai City, in order to support improved water service delivery amidst the government’s policy of budget efficiency as stipulated in Presidential Instruction Number 1 of 2025. The analysis employed includes a technical hydraulic scheme analysis using the EPAnet application to model water distribution, as well as the SMART (Simple Multi Attribute Rating Technique) method to determine area priorities based on technical criteria, community needs, and budget efficiency. Through this approach, it is expected that the JDU development can be implemented effectively, efficiently, and accurately, in accordance with community needs and government policies

This study explores teachers' experiences in implementing visual literacy-based learning media in early elementary writing lessons. The purpose is to examine the impact of these media on student motivation, writing engagement, and learning outcomes. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research was conducted in a second-grade classroom, where teachers integrated visual literacy into writing instruction. The findings indicate that visual literacy-based media significantly enhanced students’ motivation and engagement in writing activities. Teachers reported that the media facilitated active participation and improved students’ ability to organize ideas and express thoughts through writing. The study concludes that visual literacy-based learning media is an effective tool for fostering creativity, critical thinking, and communication skills, contributing to a more interactive and engaging writing experience for young learners
THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE DASA DHARMA VALUES IN SOCIAL STUDIES LEARNING TO DEVELOP STUDENTS’ SOCIAL AWARENESS
This study aimed at describing the implementation of the Dasa Dharma values in social studies learning and analyzing those implementations in terms of students’ social awareness. The study employed a qualitative method, gathering data through observation, interviews, and documentation. After acquiring the data, the model from Miles, Huberman, and Saldana was administered for analysis. The findings show that the implementation of the Dasa Dharma values in social studies learning was reflected in each process, that is, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Students’ attitude and behavior, specifically their willingness to assist their peers during class, their sensitivity to the social circumstances around them, and their ability to work well in groups, reflect the form or outcome of this implementation. This form of implementation represents the Dasa Dharma values related to social awareness, that is, values 2, 4, and 5. This research is novel in that it focuses on the Dasa Dharma values integrated into social studies learning to foster social awareness. This research can be used as a reference to demonstrate that Crandall's theory of social awareness is relevant for application in social studies learning, collaborating with the Dasa Dharma values
THE DARK SIDE OF SCHOOL LIFE: AN ANALYSIS OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENT BEHAVIOR THAT THREATENS THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
Deviant behavior in elementary schools such as bullying, harassment, and verbal or physical aggression reflects a moral crisis and weak social control within the learning environment. This study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with a qualitative approach to analyze forms of deviant student behavior that threaten the school climate, identify their causal factors, and formulate effective prevention strategies. Thematic analysis of national and international studies reveals that such behavior is influenced by internal factors, including low emotional intelligence, empathy, and learning motivation, as well as external factors, such as authoritarian parenting, negative peer environments, and weak school supervision. These behaviors negatively impact academic achievement, psychological well-being, and students’ social adjustment. Effective prevention requires collaboration among schools, families, and communities through social-emotional learning programs, teacher training in behavior management, safe reporting mechanisms, and strict anti-bullying policies. The findings have practical implications for teachers and policymakers in Indonesia to strengthen character education, empathy, and moral reasoning within the curriculum and to promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment
INSTITUTIONAL TRANSFORMATION OF CUSTOMARY VILLAGES IN CENTRAL MALUKU: INDIGENOUS GOVERNANCE, IDENTITY POLITICS, AND LAND RIGHTS IN TULEHU AND HARUKU
This study examines the institutional transformation of customary villages in Central Maluku, focusing on Tulehu and Haruku. It employs a critical qualitative approach using a case study method, combining in-depth interviews with customary leaders, Saniri members, village officials, and local government representatives, participatory observation in customary rituals and village administration, and analysis of official documents, village regulations, historical archives, and maps. Data were analyzed using critical discourse analysis, social mapping, and triangulation to understand the interactions between indigenous governance and state bureaucracy. The findings indicate that the transformation of adat institutions is a complex social process involving negotiations between customary values, state regulations, and identity politics. Both Tulehu and Haruku retain traditional structures—Raja (Upu), Saniri Negeri, and Soa—but differ in integration with formal administration. Tulehu maintains strong social and spiritual authority but faces limited documentation, overlapping territorial claims, and slower formal recognition. Haruku has systematically integrated adat and church norms into village governance, with clear boundaries and institutionalized structures. Interactions with the state are ambivalent: while legal recognition is granted, bureaucratic procedures constrain adat autonomy. Both communities adopt adaptive and collaborative strategies to sustain governance, including revitalizing deliberative forums, strengthening religious leadership, documenting territorial boundaries, and managing resources through traditional practices in coordination with government and church authorities. Overall, the study shows that adat transformation in Central Maluku represents a negotiation between preserving cultural identity and engaging with modern governance structures, highlighting the importance of both local autonomy and administrative alignment for sustainable indigenous law communities
SEXUAL VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN: A CASE STUDY ON CHILDREN TREATED DP3AP2KB BENGKULU CITY
Violence against children is a complex social problem that has long-term consequences for their physical, psychological, and social development. In Bengkulu City, data from the UPTD PPA DP3AP2KB recorded 97 cases of violence against children during the 2021–2024 period, with molestation and sexual intercourse being the most prevalent forms. This study aims to identify the factors that cause sexual violence against children and to understand the social dynamics underlying these cases. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, using in-depth interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation. Research informants consisted of child victims, their families, and staff of the UPTD PPA DP3AP2KB Bengkulu City, with a total of five child victims as the main informants. The findings show that sexual violence against children is driven by multiple interrelated factors, including low economic conditions, dysfunctional family roles, low parental education and awareness, the nature of parental employment, as well as exposure to media and peer influences. These factors interact to create conditions that increase children’s vulnerability to violence, particularly within the domestic environment that should function as a place of protection. From a family sociology and structural functionalism perspective, sexual violence against children reflects weakened family functions and insufficient social control in the wider community. The study highlights the need for comprehensive efforts through improved parenting literacy, strengthened child protection systems, and stronger synergy between government institutions, communities, and families to more effectively prevent and address sexual violence against children. It also bridges theory and practice by linking family level vulnerabilities with institutional responses of DP3AP2KB, offering a reference for future research and child protection policy development
