Hoja s spomini: dediščina na Poti spominov in tovarištva v Ljubljani

    No full text
The paper presents the Trail of Remembrance and Comradeship, a memorial trail in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and through the elements of memory, materiality, and movement on the trail explores how certain memorials were created and curated in Slovenia under socialism, and how they are maintained and promoted as heritage in contemporary times. By combining theory on memorials in heritage studies with active engagement with the trail, the paper addresses our relationship with heritage as a multi-layered and dynamic process.Članek z elementi spomina, materialnosti in gibanja predstavi spominsko pot, Pot spominov in tovarištva, v Ljubljani, in s tem razgrinja pogled na to, kako so se v času socializma v Sloveniji ustvarjali spominski prostori in kako se ti prostori danes še ohranjajo in uveljavljajo kot dediščina.

    No full text
This article adopts a comparative focus on two European borderlands, that of the Sorbs in Germany and that of the Vlachs in Serbia. It identifies three dimensions of marginalization that precede the loss of ecoculturally diverse landscapes through the expansion of mining activities: linguistic difference, border proximity, and the element of a rural culture. The article argues that these are part of a discourse that aims to legitimize the processes of “wastelanding”, that is the deliberate destruction of minority heritage through environmental degradation.Članek primerja dve evropski obmejni območji, tj. območji naselitve Lužiških Srbov v Nemčiji in Vlahov v Srbiji. Opredeljuje tri razsežnosti marginalizacije, ki zaradi širjenja rudarskih dejavnosti napovedujejo izgubo ekološko in kulturno raznovrstnih (po)krajin. To so jezikovni razločki, bližina meje in podeželska kultura, ki so del diskurza, katerega cilj je legitimirati procese »pustošenja«, tj. namernega uničevanja manjšinske dediščine z degradacijo okolja

Vegetation, hydrological, and morphological dynamics of natural islands in the Danube Delta

The Danube Delta is a unique ecosystem located in southeastern Romania. Within this ecosystem, hydrological and morphological dynamics have an important role in maintaining biodiversity. The study aimed to analyze the vegetation, hydrological factors, and morphological dynamics of seven islands in the Danube Delta. The study was carried out during 2023–2024 at Isaccea (three islands), Dunavăț (three islands) and Dranov (one island) in all four seasons. Phytocoenological relevés were carried out for the vegetation analysis, and the SonTek RiverSurveyor M9 equipment was used for the hydrological analysis. The analysis of island dynamics was carried out through morphometric methods, using ANCPI orthophotos (2004 and 2021) and Landsat satellite images (2010). In the seven islands, six associations from the Artemisietea vulgaris, Lemnetea, Phragmito-Magnocaricetea, and Salicetea purpureae classes were found. The hydrological analysis indicated seasonal fluctuations in water level, flow, and velocity, with significant increases in the autumn and winter, especially at Isaccea. The hydrological regime has an important role in the morphodynamic modelling of the Danube Delta islands, indicating the river's ability to induce rapid transformations through sedimentation and erosion processes. The morphodynamic analysis of the islands indicated a complex interaction of erosion and accumulation. The island's location influences this interaction, the river flow dynamics and human interventions such as the rectification of meanders

Dry grasslands of the central valleys of the Alps from a European perspective: the example of Ausserberg (Valais, Switzerland)

The upper Rhone valley in the Swiss canton of Valais is one of the driest and most continental of the inner-alpine valleys and harbours a rich xerothermic flora. We studied syntaxonomy and ecology of dry grasslands and their species richness patterns. In 2018 we recorded 28 vegetation plots (10 m2) and three nested-plot series of 0.0001 to 100 m2 on the south-facing slopes above the village of Ausserberg. Mean richness of all species ranged from 1.7 on 1 cm2 to 47.3 on 100 m2, with little contribution of bryophytes and lichens. The species-area relationship for total richness closely followed a power function. Modified TWINSPAN yielded a three-cluster solution, which could easily be matched with three orders of the class Festuco-Brometea: Stipo pulcherrimae-Festucetalia pallentis (xeric, rocky), Festucetalia valesiacae (xeric, non-rocky) and Brachypodietalia pinnati (meso-xeric). The subdivision of the xeric types into two orders is new for Swiss dry grasslands, where these types up to now had been joined in a single alliance Stipo-Poion within the Festucetalia valesiacae

O prevzetih besedah, tujkah in izposojenkah

The author of this terminologically oriented paper attempts to define in exact terms the distinction between "borrowings" and "foreignisms." The distinction is not merely theoretical, but of practical importance, as the definition determines what does and does not belong in a proper dictionary of foreignisms.V članku terminološke narave avtor poskuša prevzete besede z eksaktnimi merili razmejiti na "izposojenke" in "tujke". Razmejitev ni samo teoretičnega, temveč predvsem praktičnega pomena, saj je od ustrezne definicije termina "tujka" odvisno, kaj sodi in kaj ne sodi v dober slovar tujk

Pravi in nepravi oziralni stavki v slovenščini

The author explores the various types of relative clauses in Slovene, focusing on a construction that has traditionally been assumed to be a special type of relative clause in which there seems to be a mismatch between the number feature of the clitic pronoun and that of the relative head, e.g., Najboljši iskalec si, [RC kar smo jih imeli.]1 best-Nom.sg.masc. seeker-Nom.sg.masc. BE-2nd. sg.pres. that BE-1st.pl.pres. 3rd.pl.acc.pron have-L-participle ‘You are the best seeker that we have had (them).’ The paper illustrates how contemporary generative syntax can handle the problem of this feature mismatch, giving two possible solutions. Najboljši iskalec si, [RC kar smo jih imeli.] Razprava kaže, kako sodobna generativna skladnja lahko reši ta problem, in sicer z dvema možnima rešitvama

    Zmeda pogojev umetne inteligence

    No full text
The article discusses various conditions of contemporary artificial intelligence, namely deep learning mechanisms, to emphasize its limitations and argues for an antihumanistic view of contemporary technology. It starts from affirming Turing test and argues that machines can in fact be intelligent but that this intelligence must not be related to a capitalistically hyped idea of artificial general intelligence. Then it outlines various conditions on which deep learning depends in its functioning (brute computing power, capitalist datafication, the world of contingency). These conditions show an epistemological schism in the field of artificial intelligence (between symbolic AI and connectionism) that could be overcome by getting rid of the idea of artificial general intelligence and the competitive relation between humans and machines

    Vezljivostna teorija v slovenskem jezikoslovju

    No full text
Presenting the development of Slovenian valency theory (with special reference to verbal valency) shows how from the sixteenth century onwards Slovenian syntax with its own characteristics and problems was gradually typified or formulated. This means that treatment from the initial general-linguistic comparative syntactic phenomena began to narrow and at the same time deepen in quality. The relations between the semantic, syntacic function and expressive levels of language through the centuries very clearly show the gradual perception of the Slovenian language from the initial merely surface-level comparative descriptions of the syntax (comparative descriptions of syntactic phenomena in Latin, German and Slovenian) to treatments dealing with problems. Thus the early presentation of the basic use of the individual cases in Slovenian — the starting-point of the treatment is the expressive level — centres on the treatment of primarily Slovenian syntactic particularities represented by the syntactic-function or clause element level in a clause-effect link with the semantic level of the language.
