Структурно-семантические классы косвенной речи в романе Хaйди Кноблих «Зимние яблоки» (2003)
The article deals with the structural-semantic classes of indirect speech in the novel of H.Knoblich «Winter apples» (2003). The purpose of the research was to assign the most productive types of indirect speech. Among the many structural classes of indirect speech the actual indirect speech in the form of subordinate clause dominates. A significant proportion also has indirect speech in the form of an independent clause. The gradual nature of the semantic classification of indirect speech was set out. The most popular semantic classes of indirect speech are the external indirect speech, the individual indirect speech and the personal indirect speech with a clear voice of the character. The article deals with the structural-semantic classes of indirect speech in the novel of H.Knoblich «Winter apples» (2003). Male proneness to verbal display production
The Darwinian theory of sexual selection predicts language-related sex differences in humans originating from and relevant for mate choice. Due to past sex-different selection pressures, it can be assumed that men are more prone to verbal displays than women, both in intrasexual competition and in intersexual selection (i.e., courtship). They should benefit more from high verbal proficiency in mate choice than women. Several hypotheses in the framework of these general evolutionary assumptions were tested using two questionnaires with a total sample of 234 participantsThe Darwinian theory of sexual selection predicts language-related sex differences in humans originating from and relevant for mate choice.
