Beyond the Greenwash: Identifying Genuine Corporate Sustainability
As sustainability becomes a critical factor in corporate strategy and consumer decision-making, the rise of greenwashing—where companies exaggerate or falsify environmental claims—poses a significant challenge. This article delves into the legal landscape of greenwashing in the United States and the European Union. It considers regulations specifically tailored to combating greenwashing and encouraging sustainability in those regions. Genuine sustainability practices that companies can engage in are identified and recommended. These include embracing ESG reporting, truth in advertising, transparency, certification and compliance, consistency, and accountability

The Influence of Informal Teacher Leadership and Social Networks on Teacher Self-Efficacy in Rural Schools
The number of formal teacher leadership roles, notably as instructional coaches and Professional Learning Community leaders, continued to increase. Rural school districts needed to improve their ability to create these roles. Additionally, researchers indicated many teachers preferred to avoid working with formal teacher leaders. The purpose of this basic, interpretive, qualitative study was to examine informal teacher leadership within the confines of social networks in rural schools and the influence of informal teacher leadership on the self-efficacy of other teachers when implementing instructional strategies. I utilized a questionnaire and snowball sampling, which led to 10 participants to gain insight into teacher efficacy in rural schools. I used open and axial coding to analyze my findings. The results of this study yielded four findings. First, teachers reported working with teacher leaders to be comfortable and collaborative. Second, teachers preferred working with leaders they perceived as having a level of expertise. Third, teachers viewed working with informal teacher leaders as an opportunity for flexibility. Finally, teachers viewed working with informal leaders as creating a network and an exchange of equals
A Survey of Pet Caretakers on the Use and Perceptions Regarding Heartworm Prophylaxis for Prevention of Canine Heartworm Disease
Canine heartworm disease (CHWD) is caused by infection with the nematode parasite Dirofilaria immitis transmitted through the bite of a mosquito carrying the infective stage larva. The disease is insidious in its onset and almost 100% preventable with the use of highly effective pharmaceutical compounds that target the migrating larval stage acquired from the mosquito. However, use of canine heartworm prophylaxis among pet dog caretakers is not universally accepted and sometimes viewed with skepticism. Previous research conducted in the Cumberland Gap Region (CGR) indicated that 41.8% of dog owning individuals do not use prophylactic products. In this study, we surveyed pet dog caretakers across the United States from October 2021-February 2022 to determine reasons for the use or non-use of canine heartworm prophylaxis to prevent CHWD. Results of 305 responses were analyzed from 31 states in the domestic United States and Puerto Rico (PR). Among survey participants, 22% of dog caretakers chose not to give their pets heartworm prophylaxis. Pet dog caretakers in the US chose not to give their pets canine heartworm prophylaxis for economic reasons (46%, 21/46), environmental factors (24%,11/46), subscribe to beliefs associated with a holistic approach to prevention (9%,4/46),low perceived risk of CHWD (6.5%,3/46),or other reasons (28%,13/46).These results can aid veterinary professionals to address the educational challenges associated with heartworm prophylaxis and disease to increase their use and gain better rapport with clients
PERCEPTIONS OF GEORGIA ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL PRINCIPALS REGARDING THEIR LEADERSHIP PREPARATION PROGRAMS
Abstract
Alternative schools were characterized by numerous risk factors that impacted
student learning, teacher retention, and access to essential resources. The
implementation of self-efficacy was crucial in tackling and successfully finishing
difficult tasks. Studies were scarce regarding the impact of school principals\u27
self-efficacy on their leadership behaviors when running an alternative school.
The purpose of this study was to investigate how principals perceived their
self-efficacy, which was influenced by their participation in principal preparation
programs in Georgia. Additionally, I examined the impact of self-efficacy on their
leadership behaviors, the risk factors associated with leading an alternative
school, and how principals conceptualized their leadership efficacy. The research
questions highlighted that the data on leadership training programs mostly
addressed collaboration, power sharing, connection development, communication,
flexibility, and process orientation. Similar to principals of regular schools,
principals of alternative school programs also benefitted from the unique support
provided by universities, colleges, and school districts. It was crucial to have
effective instructional involvement at all levels to develop a new curriculum
specifically designed for alternative school principals. This curriculum should be
characterized by increased communication between agencies, active engagement
by cohorts nationwide, and the establishment of trust. Such measures were
essential for increasing students\u27 success in alternative schools. By persistently
examining and implementing approaches to engage administrators in alternative
school programs, we can enhance their ability to become accomplished alternative
school principals with elevated self-efficacy
