Portrait of Moderate Islam Within Muslim University Students in Indonesia
The violence in the name of religion is now not only happening in the Middle East but has also penetrated Indonesia. Indonesia is not only known as a Muslim-majority country that is friendly and peace-loving but also has a diversity of religions, ethnicities, races, and cultures that have the potential to trigger conflict at any time. Violations of religious freedom in Indonesia have increased dramatically in recent years. This study is aimed to explore the understanding of Muslim students in Indonesia about Islamic moderation, the perceptions of Muslim students in Indonesia about the application of Islamic moderation, and the challenges and strategies of universities in implementing Islamic moderation on Muslim students in Indonesia. This study uses phenomenology approach with Muslim students as the object of the research. The participants were selected purposively as many as 20 students. This study finds that Muslim students in Indonesia characterize Islamic moderation as Muslims who are open to technological change, tolerant and harmonious with other Muslims and non-Muslims, non-violent, democratic, and access to comprehensive Islamic sources. Even though Muslim students in Indonesia have implemented Islamic moderation, there are still misconceptions about Islamic moderation. The challenge of implementing Islamic moderation in Muslim students is that they are easily exposed to extreme understanding through social media or the pragmatic and rational Islamic community.
SPIRITUAL HABITATION MODEL IN IMPLEMENTING MORAL AND RELIGIOUS VALUES IN EARLY CHILDREN
Every child has different basic spiritual needs that must be met in life. If spiritual needs are met, it will create peace, tranquility, and security in the lives of children in their families. BIMS Purwokerto Kindergarten as an early childhood education institution takes a strategic role. From here, this research focuses on the strategic model of spiritual habituation in inculcating moral and religious values in early childhood. This research uses field research or analysis data according to the phenomenon with the description. The data collection technique is through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Observations and interviews with teachers, parents, and class A students at BIMS South Purwokerto Kindergarten, Banyumas Regency. While the documents are archives, anecdotal notes, photos, and other works related to the model of children's spiritual habituation. The results of this study focus on the model of spiritual habituation in inculcating moral and religious values through four points, namely; (1) spiritual habituation through programmed, (2) spiritual habituation through routine activities, (3) spiritual habituation through spontaneous, and (4) spiritual habituation through example. These four are the success of the early childhood spiritual habituation model with the development of children's religious abilities (knowing the religion they follow, compassion for fellow creatures of God, imitating worship movements in order and order, recognizing praiseworthy and despicable behavior), respect for tolerance of other religions, knowing Islamic holidays, being able to pray with good ethics, and helping to stimulate spiritual intelligence and other intelligence
Tradition Balimau Kasai in Kampar:Integration of Islamic and Local Culture
This study aims to explain that there is an integration between Islamic values and the local culture of Kampar in the balimau kasai tradition. The balimau kasai tradition is a tradition of welcoming the holy month of Ramadan by bathing with traditional herbs and gathering on the banks of the river. In this study it was found that, there are 4 (four) categories that can be integrated between Islamic values and the local culture of Kampar, namely: (1) as a form of gratitude to be met with the month of Ramadan, (2) as a form of joy and happiness with the coming of the month of Ramadan, (3) as a means of cleansing and purifying the body and spirit, (4) as a place to establish friendship, and (5) as a moment to forgive each other. Of the four categories found, it is evident that balimau kasai is a local cultural tradition, as well as a form of planting Islamic values
KAJIAN SAINS PADA BENTUK BUMI UNTUK PENENTUAN ARAH KIBLAT
Popper proposed a controversial notion of the truth of a theory that cannot be supported by observational evidence. According to him, it is impossible for a theory makes so many predictions that come true as expected. If his notion is associated with visual evidence of the Earth that has been recognized as a truth then the consequences are the photographs and everything related to the compatibility between the observations and the initial hypothesis comes to be questionable. Popper has the same view with Kuhn about the meaning of the truth of science that will not be final but rather a conjecture. Kuhn also proposed the stages of how science works. Based on the study on the progres of science of the Earth’s shape using the notions of Popper and Kuhn, it appears that the scientific progress of the Earth’s shape has experienced ideal stages. However, its progress has exceeded the scientific limit of science, as well as it still contains some ridiculousnesses of verificational evidence. This confirms that it is important for practitioners to use an appropriate paradigm because the truth of science can never be achieved as an actual truth. In the determination of the direction of Qibla, until now we know some methods namely calculation using the formula of spherical trigonometry, Vincenty’s formula, and global rashdul Qibla. Each method holds its own paradigm that has weaknesses and advantages. This research includes into qualitative research with library research approach. The author suggests to use rashdul qibla
Organizational Changes and Development in Islamic Education Institutions Post Covid-19 Pandemic
The purpose of this research is the importance of organizational change and development in improving the organization's ability to adapt to environmental changes. This qualitative research with a literature approach is sourced from various literatures; journal articles, reference books, textbooks, and related documents. The findings show that organizational change and development in Islamic educational institutions after the COVID-19 pandemic can be designed through three aspects; changing attitudes/values, modifying behavior, and encouraging structural and policy changes. So it is necessary to develop organizational leadership to influence people to behave in accordance with the expectations of the leader, and adapt to the strategic environment of the organization. Post-pandemic, Islamic educational institutions must be oriented to three things; the use of Islamic reasoning based on the Qur'an and hadith, human resources (human needs), and technology. Online learning has a positive impact, teachers and students no longer rely on face-to-face learning because they are used to doing distance learning. The challenges of Islamic Educational Institutions in overcoming organizational change and development are; (1) consider the fundamental role. (2) pay attention to the function of the instrument as an educational tool. (3) there is a constructive role. The three roles are an effort to integrate components to realize Islamic education, make changes and organizational development on government policies through the nature, roles, responding to challenges and developments as well as post-pandemic technolog
Reorienting Ecological Paradigm for Harmonization of Humans and Nature: A Christian Perspective
The ecological crisis that is very alarming at the moment is caused by, among others, the “poor” ethics in the relationship between humans and the universe. Humans tend to see themselves as high and mighty, also the most decisive (superior). Conversely, nature is perceived as less important, of lower class, not human (inferior). Inequality in the relationship between humans and nature has further wosened the “ethical poverty” and the relationship is increasingly immoral. Thus, ethical poverty forms paradigm disorientation, dysfunction of action and disintegration of relations. Therefore, this article aims to reorient the paradigm, and to encourage the creation of harmonious relations based on a paradigm shift in favor of life. Everything begins with a search for social ethics that observes the events of the ecological crisis, investigates in-depth and hears various calls for a paradigm shift, identifies ethical-ecological principles and seeks a hermeneutical-biblical ethics as a religious interpretation that goes beyond the anthropocentrism of interpreting the holy scriptures. The method used in this research is a literature study. Data related to the issue of the ecological crisis was collected and then an in-depth analysis was carried out and finally conclusions were made. The issue of ecological crisis used as a reference in this research is the case of mining on Romang Island. This case is analyzed with a social ethics and a religious ethics approaches. The results of the analysis serve as a reference for transformative actions
KONSEP INTEGRASI ILMU ABDULLAH AHMAD DALAM PENDIDIKAN ISLAM
The purpose of this study is to analyze Abdullah Ahmad's thoughts on the Knowledge Integration and its implementation in Minangkabau as well as its implications for the Adabiah School of West Sumatra and other islamic education sector in Indonesia. This research is a historical study that focuses on the memoirs and educational background of Abdullah Ahmad, including his efforts in developing Adabiah School. This Study method with a history approach was employed to analyze data. This study concluded by arguing the following aspects: the past educational experience had considerable influence on Abdullah Ahmad's thoughts in which religious sciences and general sciences were separated. The colonial education system model that harmed muslims deeply left an impression on his thoughts. The study shows that Abdullah Ahmad did not distinguish between religious and general sciences. Instead, he integrated the two groups of knowledge and, at the same time, removed the dichotomy of the two, and his goal was to lift Islamic society from adversity and backwardness. In addition, Abdullah Ahmad's thoughts also promoted equality of access to education between men and women especially for the muslims. Accordingly, Madrasah Adabiyiah organized and based its educational system on this integration idea with high quality and accessible for all. KONTRIBUSI DI TENGAH ARUS KONTROVERSI: Pesantren LDII Millenium Alfiena Nganjuk
This research discusses the history of the Alfiena Millennium LDII Islamic Boarding School. The problems that the author discusses are about the beginning of the establishment of pesantren, the existence and controversy of pesantren and the Indonesian Islamic Da'wah Institute (LDII), and the contribution of pesantren to the development of society and the government. The author uses a historical research method that starts from the selection of topics, the collection of historical sources, verifying sources, interpretation, and writing of history. This research resulted in the conclusion that the LDII Millennium Alfiena Islamic Boarding School is an Islamic educational institution that was initiated in 1996 by K.H. Seger Afandi Al-Choir. The condition of the Pesantren in 1998 has given rise to the trust of the community and the government to grant permission for establishment. Despite experiencing many obstacles and obstacles, the Alfiena Millennium Islamic Boarding School can develop well and can carry out communication, work, and contributions. It is proven by the contribution of the Alfiena Millennium Islamic Boarding School to LDII residents and the general public.
STRATEGI KOMUNIKASI DAKWAH BADAN PENASEHAT PEMBINAAN PELESTARIAN PERKAWINAN (BP4) DALAM MENCEGAH PERCERAIAN DI ERA PANDEMI
This study aims to determine the factors that cause divorce at the Bandung City Religious Affairs Office and to determine the strategies implemented by BP-4 in reducing divorce problems at the Bandung City Religious Affairs Office in the era of the pandemic. The methodology of this research is descriptive qualitative research through the development of facts in the field which is carried out with several approaches. These approaches are management, sociological and communication approaches. Collecting data through observation and in-depth interviews with informants who have been previously determined in a documentation. The results of this study indicate that the factors that cause divorce at the Office of Religious Affairs in Bandung are: economic factors, the presence of a third person, gambling and drinking, and communication factors, and the lack of public understanding of the meaning of marriage. The strategies implemented by BP-4 in reducing divorce are: pre-marital strategies, post-marriage strategies, socialization strategies and guidance strategies. But the most important thing is to use the da'wah communication method by giving birth to two methods, namely ta'lim and purification. The implications of the research obtained are information on BP-4 services, including: first, for BP-4 institutions / related agencies: making all BP-4 activities part of the sakinah mawaddah and rahmah family movement. Second, for the community: consider carefully before making a decision to divorce and make the best use of the BP-4 institution before going to the Religious Courts because the BP-4 institution has the aim of enhancing the quality of marriage and preventing divorce, creating a happy, prosperous and eternal family according to the teachings Islam.[Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan terjadinya perceraian di Kantor Urusan Agama kota Bandung dan untuk mengetahui strategi yang diterapkan BP-4 dalam mengurangi masalah perceraian di Kantor Urusan Agama Kota Bandung di Era pandemi. Metodologi penelitian ini adalah jenispenelitian kualitatif deskriptif melalui pengembangan fakta-fakta di lapanganyang dilakukan dengan beberapa pendekatan. Pendekatan tersebut merupakanpendekatan manajemen, sosiologois dan komunikasi. Pengambilan data melalui observasi dan wawancara mendalam kepada informan yang telah ditentukansebelumnya dalam suatu dokumentasi.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor yang menyebabkanterjadinya perceraian di Kantor Urusan Agama Kota Bandung yaitu: faktor ekonomi, faktor adanya orang ketiga, faktor judidan mabuk-mabukan, dan faktor komunikasi, dan faktor kurangnya pemahamanmasyarakat tentang makna sebuah pernikahan. Adapun strategi yang diterapkanBP-4 dalam mengurangi perceraian yaitu: strategi pra nikah, strategi pasca nikah,strategi sosialisasi dan strategi bimbingan. Namun yang apling utama adalah dengan menggunakan metode komunikasi dakwah dengan melahirkan dua metode yaitu ta’lim dan pensucian. Implikasi penelitian diperoleh keterangan pelayanan BP-4 antara lain:pertama, bagi lembaga BP-4 / instansi yang terkait: menjadikan seluruh kegiatanBP-4 sebagai dari gerakan keluarga sakinah mawaddah dan rahmah. Kedua, bagimasyarakat: mempertimbangkan secara matang sebelum mengambil keputusanuntuk bercerai dan memanfaatkan lembaga BP-4 sebaik-baiknya sebelum ke Pengadilan Agama karena lembaga BP-4 memiliki tujuan untuk mempertinggi mutu pernikahan dan mencegah perceraian, mewujudkan keluarga bahagia,sejahtera dan kekal menurut ajaran Islam.].Kata Kunci: Strategi, Komunikasi Dakwah, BP
Foundation of Islamic Education Curriculum (Study of Q.S. Al-‘Alaq 1-5) Perspective of Transcendental Structuralism
The researcher's academic anxiety sees the problem of lagging in Islamic education because the curriculum foundation is not strong. The existence of a long debate regarding the form of Islamic education curriculum demonstrates the confusion about the basic structure or foundation. Philosophically, Q.S. al-‘Alaq 1-5 contains the message of the basic values of Islamic education. The theoretical claim in this paper is Q.S. al-‘Alaq 1-5 which is elaborated on the theory of transcendental structuralism that produces the basic concepts of the Islamic education curriculum. Implicitly, this study can be used as a theoretical framework to analyze the problems of the Islamic education curriculum in general. This study aims to explain the relationship between Q.S. al-‘Alaq 1-5 with the foundation of the Islamic education curriculum. The results of this study indicate that based on Q.S. al-‘Alaq 1-5, the foundation of the Islamic education curriculum consists of epistemology as a way of thinking, world view as a view of world, and ideology as a value order oriented to the integration of spiritualawareness, rationality awareness, ethical awareness, technological awareness and awareness of social transformation. The novelty of this paper is found in the analysis of transcendental structuralism of the verses of the Qur'an which produces the theory of Islamic education. This research can be said as the theorizing of the Qur’an or the science of Islam
