    Planting character values is a process of developing culture in a natural way that is inherent in the pattern of work life that must be done. Implementation of character education in schools for example as part of education reform, character education can be likened to a tree that has four important parts, namely roots, stems, branches, and leaves. The roots of reform as a philosophical foundation (foundation) for the implementation of character education must be clear and understood by the community organizers and education practitioners. Building character education in schools through local wisdom culture contains values that are relevant and useful for education. Therefore, character education based on local wisdom can be done by revitalizing local culture. Building student character can be done throughout the learning process. In every learning process we can always slip the load of values of honesty, courage, perseverance and tenacity, self-confidence, diligent study and work, respect for parents and teachers, respect and love others, live tough not knowing the words of surrender and positive attitude another. Thus our job is to find the right numbers in the right order, so we can open the door to success. There is no specific recipe that makes people successful, except trying hard in the form of hard work, study hard, have a high curiosity, discipline, and resilient. Local culture which becomes the main can to develop children's character in the learning process at school. The most important thing is our sincerity as educators to always educate with the heart. Educating with heart will prioritize the formation of positive attitudes such as; Honest, tolerant, trustworthy, mutual and caring, optimistic, confident, tough and others

    The role of mothers in the family environment plays a quite dominant role in terms of children's education that makes a mother hold high responsibility in the progress of a nation. Therefore, a mother is required to have high self-quality to be able to educate future generations. But in reality in Indonesia there are still many quality mothers who still do not meet the needs and eligibility as a teacher in a household. For this reason, this study wants to find the level of quality of children's education from the role of a mother by conducting a study of the data obtained and found solutions to improve the quality of the mother. The results of this study indicate that with some actions will provide a positive thing for the quality and role of mothers in realizing the future of the nation through the future of a child as the successor generation of his nation

    PANDANGAN KIAI PESANTREN TERHADAP KEDUDUKAN PEREMPUAN DALAM ISLAM (Telaah Hermeneutis terhadap Pemikiran Tafsir Kiai Misbah Mustafa)

    Abstract The position of women is an interesting topic. In Islamic history, several perspectives view and place women differently. There are still many who state that women's roles are limited to the home, the main task of a woman is to look after her husband and children or take care of the household. In addition to the teachings of Islam, religion interprets women today by facing great challenges, especially in Indonesia. So far, women are looked down on according to Islamic law. Yet according to the Koran, humans as caliphs on earth (consisting of men and women) have an equal element of humanity. This study draws on the thoughts of Kiai Misbah Mustafa about the position of women who are a kiai in an al-Balagh boarding school, Tuban. Kiai Misbah Mustafa also wrote a book that discusses specifically women apart from interpretations of his work, both of which will be carefully examined here. The results that the authors get from this study are, first, the author focuses on several problems in examining the position of women according to the kiai of Misbah Mustafa, namely polygamy, divorce, and inheritance. The author finds that Kiai Misbah Mustafa's thought in polygamy does not indicate that women and men get the same rights. Where Kiai Misbah Mustafa always talks about her husband's rights that are not fulfilled because of being corrupted by his wife every month. It is different from the opinion of Kiai Misbah Mustafa in divorce and the distribution of inheritance. The author agrees that the rights and obligations between husband and wife are balanced. Secondly, the implications of the thought of Kiai Misbah Mustafa in his interpretation book, Tafīsr Tᾱj al-Muslimīn Min Kalᾱmi Rabb al-īlamīn, al-Iklīl Fī Ma'ᾱnī at-Tanzīl, and to some extent helped the community in understanding the religion of Islam. Keywords: Position of Women, Kiai Misbah Mustafa Abstrak Kedudukan perempuan merupakan salah satu topik yang menarik. Dalam sejarah Islam terdapat beberapa perspektif yang memandang dan menempatkan perempuan secara berbeda. Masih banyak yang menyatakan bahwa peranan perempuan dibatasi di rumah saja, tugas utama seorang perempuan yaitu menjaga suami dan anak-anaknya atau mengurusi rumah tangga. Selain ajaran Islam agama menafsirkan tentang perempuan yang ada sekarang ini dengan menghadapi tantangan besar, khususnya di Indonesia. Selama ini perempuan dipandang rendah menurut hukum Islam. Padahal menurut Alquran, manusia sebagai khalifah di bumi (terdiri dari laki-laki dan perempuan) mempunyai unsur kemanusiaan yang setara. Penelitian ini mengambil pemikiran dari Kiai Misbah Mustafa tentang kedudukan perempuan yang merupakan seorang kiai di sebuah pondok pesantren al-Balagh, Tuban. Kiai Misbah Mustafa juga menulis kitab yang membahas khusus mengeni perempuan selain dari tafsir karyanya sendiri yang keduanya akan penulis teliti disini. Hasil yang penulis dapatkan dari penelitian ini yaitu, pertama, penulis fokuskan pada beberapa masalah dalam mengkaji kedudukan perempuan menurut kiai Misbah Mustafa, yaitu poligami, talak dan pembagian waris. Penulis menemukan bahwa pemikiran Kiai Misbah Mustafa dalam pologami tidaklah menunjukkan bahwa perempuan dan laki-laki mendapatkan hak yang sama. Dimana Kiai Misbah Mustafa selalu membicrakan masalah hak suami yang tidak dipenuhi karena dikorupsi oleh istri setiap bulannya. Berbeda dengan pendapat Kiai Misbah Mustafa dalam talak dan pembagian harta waris. Penulis sepakat, bahwa hak dan kewajiban antara suami dan istri berimbang. Kedua, implikasi dari pemikiran Kiai Misbah Mustafa dalam kitab tafsirnya yaitu Tafīsr Tᾱj al-Muslimīn Min Kalᾱmi Rabb al-‘Ālamīn, al-Iklīl Fī Ma’ᾱnī at-Tanzīl, dan sedikit banyaknya telah membantu masyarakat dalam memahami agama Islam.     Pinah Laman: The Construction of Religious and Ethnic Identity Within the Mentuka Dayak of West Kalimantan

    For the Mentuka Dayak tribe, Pinah Laman is a change in ethnic and religious identity. Pinah Laman in the Mentuka Dayak community is perceived as a cultural space for community members who convert to a particular religion. Generally, religious conversion occurs in this society from Catholicism to Islam. The new identity is given by the term ‘Sinan.’ But on the other hand, the Sinan identity has its own meaning. Sinan is a new identity given to those who have converted to another religion. Because of this Pinah Laman custom, they do not get their tribal rights, such as: performing the Mentuka Dayak traditional ceremonies. This article aims to explore the construction of a new identity from the construction process of religious identity, which involves custom. In addition, this article also explains the form of religious identity construction that occurs among the Mentuka Dayak tribe and the new converts who experience it. Religious conversion is inseparable from the driving factors for the emergence of a new identity and the implications of constructing a new identity due to the conversion process. This article was compiled from the results of research using the ethnographic method. The results of this research show that Pinah Laman is a conversion process of a Christian or Catholic Dayak to Islam. This impacts the social sanctions one receives from one’s social group. For the Mentuka Dayak people, when someone decides to change his religion, he must be willing to give up his Dayak ethnicity. One of the social effects felt by a new convert in the Dayak tribe is that he will be given a nickname or term ‘Sinan.’ Based on the results of this research, the term Sinan has a negative connotation. This is because those who change their religion are ultimately not given the freedom to practice Dayak customs as usual

    TASAMUH VILLAGE: A MODEL OF REALIZING TOLERANCE VALUES AS AN ANTIDOTE TO INTOLERANCE TO REALIZE RELIGIOUS MODERATION IN INDONESIA

    This article describes the actualization of tasamuh values to be applied among religious people in Indonesia. Tasamuh is one of the attitudes that teach humans to be tolerant and fair, respect each other, and respect differences. However, it should be highlighted that the principle of tasamuh in Islam does not touch the field of faith but is actualized in the frame of brotherhood among human beings. In line with that, to meet the religious moderation program campaigned by the government, it is even stated in the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) for 2020-2024. Thus, this article offers the concept of Kampung Tasamuh. The concept of Kampung Tasamuh mainstreams the principle of inter-religious openness. Everyone who lives in a village respects and respects each other regardless of differences. Everyone has the same opportunity to voice freedom of opinion and belief using dialogue in humanitarian matters. The findings of this article The concept of Kampung Tasamuh can be applied in tandem with several principles, namely intellectual humility, cultural empathy (caring for others), and open-mindedness (thinking inclusively)

    This study will examine the life of the Ketapang Muslim community who live in religious and multi-ethnic pluralism but still adhere to the teachings of their respective religions and maintain religious tolerance, especially for Muslims as the majority religion, but still internalize the values of moderation. in the messages of Islamic sharia teachings. This study will provide understanding and original concepts sourced from the Koran and Hadith, then translated by scholars so that the characteristics of moderate Islamic law are structured and become mercy to the universe. The purpose of this study is that every modern Muslim can understand and implement the values of moderation in his daily life, can interact well with non-Muslims around him, no need to hesitate with the application of Islamic laws that he believes in. So that what he does is not considered contrary to Islamic law properly and comprehensively in his daily life. This study uses library methods and field observations on the behavior and application of moderation values in accordance with the characteristics of Islamic law sourced from the Qur'an, As-Sunnah and classical and modern books from classical and contemporary scholars who are qualified and expert in their field. The literature and findings in the field will be carefully studied and analyzed by researchers to produce appropriate and tested conclusions. The results of this study found that the life of the Ketapang Muslim community highly upholds religious moderation, especially the Muslims, who internalize the values of moderation based on the characteristics of Islamic law

    Religious Moderation in Indonesian Context

    This paper aims to explore the concept of religious moderation across Islamic history within Indonesian context. The method used is qualitative with a historical approach. The historical approach is used to reformulate the concept of religious moderation in modern times and classical times. The results showed that religious moderation in modern times correlates with religious moderation in classical times. Although the term religious moderation was only promoted by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Indonesia in 2019, in terms of practice it has been carried out by the Prophet who was then continued by the companions and the people after him. Classical and modern religious moderation both focus on establishing harmonious and peaceful social relations with people of different religions. However, there are some differences between modern and classical moderation, namely: First, in modern times religious moderation is focused on improving and maintaining relations between Muslims and people of other religions by providing several indicators related to this. Whereas in the classical period, this religious moderation focused on their freedom to embrace their religion without any coercion to convert to Islam. Second, in modern times the term moderation is used in the hope of being an antidote to the many conflicts, while in classical times religious moderation was practiced by the Prophet to serve as an example for the companions and subsequent people. Third, the practice of religious moderation in terms of tolerance towards people of other religions in modern times looks very tolerant by congratulating each other on the holidays of other religions, while in classical times religious moderation only centred on giving them the freedom to choose their religion and carry out their religious worship

    This article describes strategies to develop the professional competence of PAI educators or teachers to prepare a quality teaching and learning process (quality). People who play a big role in education are teachers or educators. Indonesia has higher teacher education which creates graduates to become quality educators, transmitting knowledge to students. Thus, when on duty, teachers must have professional competence and attitude in teaching students. Professional teacher competencies are the kinds of skills needed to make you a professional teacher. While quality learning is a series of learning activities that make learning not difficult, not boring, enthusiastic, and able to achieve the desired goals of the teaching and learning process. In the teaching and learning process, teachers need to be trained to develop professional competencies in order to improve the quality of learning. The teacher's professionalism development strategy to achieve the goal of quality or quality learning includes: Always providing examples of personality values, understanding the pedagogical foundations and developing competency skills and skills, designing and making developments on learning practice tools, mastering and implementing teaching and learning process programs, have an academic minimum of Diploma IV or Bachelor's Degree, change the paradigm of bureaucracy, and carry out research

    Tariqa in Indonesia: Social Integration of Religious Adherents

    This paper seeks to shed light on how tariqas [school or order of Sufism] play an important role in the socio-religious life of Indonesian society. Furthermore, this paper intends to explore research gaps from previous research by looking at how conflict and social integration among tariqas are in the reality of religious communities. In addition, this paper also aims to explain the causative and supporting factors originating from the tariqa structural institutions and the tariqa interests in social integration among the tariqa. Based on the collected data which were analyzed using a qualitative approach, this article found that the tariqas have become the main agent in maintaining social integration among the tariqa practitioners and minimizing the gaps of conflict between the existing tariqas. However, at the same time, a tariqa needs legitimacy from its followers so that it creates space for conflicts of interest among the tariqa practitioners, especially in the fields of economics, politics, as well as among their followers. This paper is based on research conducted using in-depth library research aimed to find out how conflict and social integration occur in society

    Penelitian ini meneliti perilaku membujang yang banyak kita jumpai di masyarakat. Hal ini lantas menimbulkan pertanyaan, apakah hal ini dibolehkan dalam Islam, sedangkan Islam menganjurkan untuk menikah, sebagai salah satu bentuk ketaatan atas peintah Allah swt. Adapun rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini ialah bagaimana perilaku membujang dalam tinjauan istishlah. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perilaku membujang dan tinjauan istishlah tentang perilaku membujang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kepustakaan (library research) atau kualitatif, Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan normatif. Hasil penelitian ini adalah membujang adalah suatu larangan dan juga terdapat banyak mudharatnya. Demikian juga Rasulullah SAW melarang membujang (at-Tabattul) yakni tidak menikah.  Atas dasar itu, selama mampu menikah, maka dianjurkan untuk menikah dan pilih wanita yang memiliki agama yang baik, untuk menjaga keturunan dan membangun rumah tangga yang sakinah, mawaddah, wa rahmah atas izin dan jalan yang di ridhai oleh Allah SWT dan Rasulullah SAW
