İnvestigation of photocatalytic and photoluminescent properties of a novel multifunctional near-uv excited nanostucture ceo2:0.1dy0.1ho
In this study, Dy3+ doped and Ho3+ co-doped materials synthesized by the sol-gel method at different temperatures were investigated. The structural and optical properties were characterized by an x-ray powder diffract meter, thermal analysis system, scanning electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, FT-IR, UV-vis spectroscopy, and photoluminescence spectrophotometer. The photocatalytic performance, crucially contingent on the sintering temperature, was systematically evaluated using malachite green and methylene blue as model pollutants. Remarkably, the highest efficiency, registering an impressive 90%, was achieved for methylene blue when sintered at 1000 degrees C. For malachite green, a substantial efficiency of 62% was attained at a sintering temperature of 800 degrees C. The corresponding optical band gap, a pivotal parameter influencing photocatalytic activity, was determined to be 2.43 eV. Under the near-UV excitation at 318 nm, the CeO2:0.1Dy0.1Ho phosphor emitted photoluminescence with dominating emissions at 475 nm (blue), 559 nm (green) and 663 nm (red) corresponding to F-4(9/2)-> H-6(15/2) (blue) transition of Dy3+ ions, (F4,S2)-F-5-S-5 -> I-5(8) (green) and F-5(5)-> I-5(8) (red) transitions of Ho3+ ions, respectively
Synthesis, characterization, and investigation of photoluminescence optima of In3+ and Gd3+ doped Eu1.90In0.10Ru2O7 and Eu1.90Gd0.10Ru2O7 materials
In this study, we investigated the photoluminescence properties and structure of the In3+ and Gd3+ doped Eu2Ru2O7-based pyrochlore materials. The samples were synthesized by solid state reaction technique, investigated structurally by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), thermally by thermogravimetry, and differential thermal analysis, morphologically by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The photoluminescence properties of Eu1.90In0.10Ru2O7 and Eu1.90Gd0.10Ru2O7 were investigated with photoluminescence spectrometer. X-ray diffraction patterns of all the samples showed that all samples had a cubic type pyrochlore crystal structure with a = b = c = 10.252 Å and ? = ? = ? = 90°. The XRD patterns demonstrate that neither the type nor the amount of doping ion alters the unit cell parameter. The SEM images of Eu1.90In0.10Ru2O7 and Eu1.90Gd0.10Ru2O7 reveal a regular morphology, with an average sample size ranging from 0.2 to 0.5 ?m. The elementel (EDX) analysis confirm the absence of impurity elements and showing that the theoretical and experimental element ratios are consistent with EDX analysis expectations. The pyrochlore phosphors showed broad red emission band at ?605 nm. This red emission can be attributed to the 5D0?7F2 transitions of Eu3+. The phosphor co-doped with In3+ ions has a considerably longer lifetime and photoluminescence intensity than the other phosphor. Eu1.90In0.10Ru2O7 and Eu1.90Gd0.10Ru2O7 phosphors, which show transitions in the red region (at 605/606 nm,5D0 ?7F2), are suitable for optoelectronic and white LED applications. © 2024 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.Türkiye Bilimsel ve Teknolojik Araştırma Kurumu, TÜBİTAK, (114Z438); Türkiye Bilimsel ve Teknolojik Araştırma Kurumu, TÜBİTA
A LAMP-BEARER (?) IN THE FORM OF DIONYSUS FROM ANATOLIAN CIVILIZATIONS MUSEUM
A rare and nearly life-size bronze statue of Dionysus is displayed in the Classical Artifacts section of the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations. The piece, whose origin of discovery is unknown, was broken into pieces and smuggled abroad. It was brought back to Turkey and reassembled by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Bronze statues in human form were frequently used in the houses of wealthy city dwellers in antiquity. Bronze is reused by melting, which has caused the present statue to become an increasingly rare artifact. This study aims to introduce the bronze sculpture of Dionysus, its possible date of creation, and its intended use by comparing it with similar examples from the Roman Empire. The study conducted thus far, indicates that the artifact may have been used as a lighting device These lighting devices were especially popular in the 1st century AD, and similar examples can be seen in Pompeii. The stylistic analysis indicates that the sculpture is pasticcio and contains elements from a wide range of time periods and dates to the 1st–2nd centuries AD. © 2024, Mega Publishing House. How Employee Productivity Mediates the Effect of Organizational Justice on Work Engagement in Türkiye
This article explores whether organizational justice has a significant effect on work engagement, and if so, whether employee productivity has a mediating role on this effect. It studies the case of Turkish information technology employees, with an online survey method used for data generation, with data analyzed by SmartPLS and structural equation modeling with the least squares method. Cronbach's Alpha and Compound Reliability values were used to test the reliability of the generated model. Average variance and factor loads were calculated to test convergent validity. Cross-factor loads were taken into account with the Fornell-Larcker criterion to assess differential validity. In this way, the study finds that organizational justice had a significant effect on work engagement and that productivity had a partial mediating role on this effect

The relationship between academic crafting, work-school facilitation and academic engagement: a mediated model
This research examines the relationship between academic crafting, work-school facilitation and academic engagement in higher education. Based on the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) Model, the research sought to determine how students' alignment of academic activities with personal preferences and interests (academic crafting) affects academic engagement and whether work-school facilitation mediates this effect. The research therefore emphasized the delicate balance that students strike between their work obligations and their scholarly activities. Our research hypotheses focused on understanding how academic crafting directly and indirectly affects student engagement. The research data were obtained from a sample of students enrolled in postgraduate programs and actively working in the labor market. The sample included a higher proportion of male (108), married people (88), those aged 26 to 35 (89), students pursuing a master's degree with a thesis (112), and those who had been employed for 6-10 years (47). The analyses revealed that academic crafting has a direct positive effect on academic engagement. Moreover, in the research, academic crafting not only directly affected academic engagement, but also indirectly through work-school facilitation. In this case, it was determined that work-school facilitation had a mediating role in the study. Therefore, students who proactively aligned their course-related activities with their interests effectively balanced their work demands and academic responsibilities and exhibited more dedication and enthusiasm in their academic studies
Evaluation and optimization of red pine needle-reinforced roller-compacted concrete by bioinspired algorithms
This paper discusses the improvement of roller compacted concrete by the addition of red pine needle (PN) fibers optimized by bioinspired techniques. The purpose was to determine a perfect set of mechanical characteristics, such as flexural, compressive, and splitting tensile strengths, by determining proper correlations between the water-cement ratio, superplasticizer, and fiber volume. Based on the data obtained with the help of experiments, it was shown that optimizing the PN fibers added to RCC with nature-inspired algorithms (particle swarm optimization, genetic algorithms, simulated annealing and artificial neural networks) yields positive results in terms of improving a number of characteristics, including flexural strength, fracture toughness, and durability. In addition, adopting PN fibers has certain environmental benefits. All methods under analysis showed good results, with the artificial neural network (ANN) being superior in terms of predicting the parameters of RCC. The discussed research confirms the effectiveness of such optimization methods for determining the best proportions for RCC using PN fibers. At the same time, future studies could further develop sustainable and mechanically strong RCC formulations
