    No full text
The high temperature of surface acoustic wave resonator at specific frequencies is an important challenge for electronic designers. Various modifications of the cooling in ZnO based sensitive element for the two-port surface acoustic wave sensor (SAW) design were considered. The effect of microchannel for cooling in SAW sensor characteristics was investigated by the finite element simulation method. Obtained versatile flexible multiparameter model allowed the evaluation of performance parameters. The optimal parameters for the SAW sensor design could be estimated by the proposed approach

Multi -Layer Based Data Aggregation Algorithm for Convergence Platform of IoT and Cloud Computing

    Get PDF
Sensor Networks (SN) are deployed in smart domain to sense the environment which is essential to provide the services according to the users need. Hundreds or sometimes thousands of sensors are involved in sensor networks for monitoring the target phenomenon. Large scale of sensory data have to be handle by the sensor network which create several problems such as waste of sensors energy, data redundancy. To overcome these deficiencies one most practice solution is data aggregation which can effectively decrease the massive amount of data generated in SNs by lessening occurrence in the sensing data. The aim of this method is to lessen the massive use of data generated by surrounding nodes, thus saving network energy and providing valuable information for the end user. The effectiveness of any data aggregation technique is largely dependent on topology of the network. Among the various network topologies clustering is preferred as it provides better controllability, scalability and network maintenance phenomenon. In this research, a data aggregation technique is proposed based on Periodic Sensor Network (PSN) which achieved aggregation of data at two layers: the sensor nodes layer and the cluster head layer. In sensor node layer set similarity function is used for checking the redundant data for each sensor node whereas Euclidean distance function is utilized in cluster head layer for discarding the redundancy of data between different sensor nodes. This aggregation technique is implemented in smart home where sensor network is deployed to capture environment related information (temperature, moisture, light, H2 level). Collected information is analyzed using ThinkSpeak cloud platform. For performance evaluation amount of aggregated data, number of pairs of redundant data, energy consumption, data latency, and data accuracy are analyzed and compared with the other state-of-art techniques. The result shows the important improvement of the performance of sensor networks

Cement Pastes Containing Polypropylene Fibers - Part I: Physical, Chemical and Mechanical Properties

    Get PDF
The influence of polypropylene fibers (PPF) addition on the physical, chemical, and mechanical properties of Portland cement pastes (OPC) was clearly evaluated. Results showed that as the PPF content increased, the water of consistency (WC) decreased, while the setting times (IST and FST) increased due to the presence of the water reducing mineral admixture (PPF). The Chemically-bound water content (BWn), bulk density (BD), and compressive strength (CS) improved and enhanced up to 0.6 wt. % PPF content, and then decreased onward at all curing times up till 90 days, while the apparent porosity shortened and then enhanced. Above 0.6 wt. % PPF content, all properties were adversely affected. The free lime content (FLn) of the OPC (PP0) increased continuously up till 90 days but decreased with PPF content at all curing ages and with all mixes (PP1-PP7)

    Get PDF
A new simple, precise, and accurate, high-performance thin-layer chromatography method was developed for the simultaneous determination of Atenolol and Chlorthalidone in tablet dosage forms. In this method, TLC aluminum plates pre-coated with silica gel 60 F254used as the stationary phase. The mobile phase consisting of Methylene Chloride: methanol: Ammonia solution 25%, in the ratio of 8.8:1.3:0.1 v/v is used. The densitometry evaluation was done at wavelength 266 nm using Camag scanner III. The developed method shows a well resolution between two peaks Atenolol and Chlorthalidone with Rf values 0.115 (±0.03) and 0.458(±0.03), respectively. The proposed method was validated as per International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guidelines for parameters such as specificity, precision, accuracy, linearity, and ruggedness and reported the values. The linear regression analysis shows that the correlation coefficient R2 value for Atenolol is 0.999 and 0.997, respectively. The mean percentage recovery values obtained for Atenolol is 101.4 and for Chlorthalidone is 98.4. The statistical analysis shows that this method is suitable for routine analysis for quantification of Atenolol and Chlorthalidone in single or combined dosage forms of formulations

Estimating the duration of the inspection and storage of Covid-19

"How long should these restrictions last?" To measure this question, two measures of disease spread are proposed. These; daily growth rate and time to double cumulative cases. These metrics enable the targeting of three simple, intuitive, and actionable comparisons: Inspection, Control, and Enclosure (<10%, 1%, and 0.1% growth, respectively). Besides, action or response is defined as major testing and quarantine, home orders, or deadlocks. Analysis of the top 36 countries and 50 states of the USA affected by the epidemic disease by the end of March gives the following results. Aggressive interventions only caused any damping or deceleration. It takes an average of three weeks for countries to act. However, even aggressive intervention does not give immediate results. It takes an average of three to three weeks from countries' aggressive intervention, four weeks to control, and more than four weeks to spread the disease. During the action, there are important differences between Asian and European countries, large and small. Using these findings, possible inspection and control dates are estimated for certain countries and the US States. Without a vaccine, treatment, or major test and quarantine, deadlocks and illegal orders will take months. However, the US faces a unique challenge, because only half of the states have adopted aggressive interventions and did it at different times. Even if these situations gain control or limitation, they may be vulnerable to transmission from other late countries

Role of Wheatstone Bridge in Velocity Measurements with Tension Thread Flow Meter

    No full text
This paper is concerned with the role of a Wheatstone bridge in velocity measurements with Tension Thread Flow Meter.   The history of the Wheatstone bridge and the concept are reviewed in brief, and the role in the Tension Thread Flow Meter has been discussed. By using a prototype flow meter, how the system of structural, mechanical, and electrical components works harmoniously has been demonstrated.   Several novel models of the present flowmeter have been proposed.   It is realized that the Tension Thread Flow Meter possesses almost limitless potential to measure the instantaneous velocities ranging from nanometer/s to sound speed in air(gas) and water(liquid), together with the oscillating, boundary layer, channel and pipe flow.  New development of the nanometer scale model for measuring the velocity in micro-fluid, and the application of Tension Thread Flow Meter to measure supersonic flow velocity are attractive research topics left for the future.
