Teaching English Pronunciation : Issues and Solutions
Get PDFVarious types of teaching pronunciation have been performed, while they have not changed for more than forty years, which have not been effective in Japanese schools. The main reason is teachers do not know effective ways of teaching pronunciation. The purpose of this study is to analyze those futile ways of teaching and give new solutions to this field. This paper proposes 1) more effective ways and a realistic arrangement and suggestions of teaching pronunciation, 2) phonetic notations that phonetic symbols are worth teaching, 3) a guideline principle and a weekly package of teaching orders such as introduction, practice,confirmation, correction, and review, 4) how to prepare for reading aloud, and 5) its applied area of a presentation in classrooms.departmental bulletin pape
The Role of Crafts on the Relationship between an Architecture and Its Gardens: Through the Writings of Tomotaka Nishikawa During the Early Showa Period
Get PDFIn this paper, I have considered the writings of the landscape architect － Tomotaka Nishikawa, during the early Showa period and the quarterly magazines that he had edited.Nishikawa highlighted the importance of the relationship between a house’s architecture and its gardens and the significance of the linkage between the architects and landscape architects. He had also defined the term “garden crafts” to include a wide range of artifacts that were used in the residential gardens as well as other garden structures and architectural elements. The important roles of the “garden crafts” were “to enjoy the outdoor life” and “to communicate with the interior” of the architecture and its garden. In addition, it became evident that Nishikawa was aiming for a comprehensive research to correlate the three professions － architecture, landscape architecture, and crafts, along with the people involved in these three professions. Furthermore, Nishikawa's interest in the role of architects, landscape architects, and other technicians in the practice of tourism was also found to have been expanded.departmental bulletin pape
Internal Experiences and Group Processes through Encounter- Groups based on Nature Experience Activities
Get PDFThis study considered internal experiences, group processes through encounter-groups based on nature experience activities, and psychological damage, as reflected on by the participants. Using questionnaire surveys, the significant result was not seen, but in the participants’ reflections about their internal experiences and group processes were unveiled. Their internal experience processes showed the factors that were influential. In on unusual yet natural environment, the participants experienced successes and misses with respect to various activities. Additionally, the non-structured encounter-group was provided an opportunity in which the participants could self-reflect while receiving feedback from others. The group process showed four stages through the encounter group; phase of anxiety and expectation, phase of interaction with members, phase of the deepening of relations, and phase of self-reflection Finally, no psycholgical damage was detected with respect to the participants.本研究は，自然体験活動を通したEGを通して参加者個人の体験過程やグループの展開および参加者の心理的損傷について検討することを目的とした。質問紙調査の結果からは，十分な変化はみられなかったが、参加者ふりかえりから，参加者個人の体験過程とグループの展開について確認することができた。参加者個人の体験過程に関しては、自然環境の中での非日常体験を前提として，期間中のさまざまな成功体験および失敗体験を経験し，そのうえで非構成的EGによるふりかえり体験が促進的に機能することによって，他者から刺激を受け，自己をふりかえる機会となっていた。グループの展開に関しては，活動開始前の「不安と期待の段階」から「他者との交流の段階」，「関係の深まりの段階」，そして「自己理解の段階」に至る展開がみてとれた。参加者の心理的損傷に関しては、今回はその兆しはみてとれなかった。departmental bulletin pape

The Paradox of Kinship Studies: The process of the collapse of the concept of kinship in cultural anthropology and its aftermath
Get PDFKinship studies declined rapidly in the 1970s and 1980s, while once at the center of cultural anthropology. This is due to the contradiction that kinship only be defined relatively, subjectively, and individually, although it should be a universal analytical concept.
In this paper, I will introduce the theoretical history of the last stage of kinship studies, relating to the paradigm shift that many social sciences follow.
Until the 1950s, kinship studies were the "natural science of society. After the "nature of kinship" debate in the 1960s, kinship studies incorporated folk reproduction theory and changed into a phenomenological "understanding science of society". However, this made it very difficult to formulate a universal argument in kinship studies. The kinship studies went astray.

Case Study of Service-Learning Program by SOFAR Framework： Aiming to Build an Assessment Framework
Get PDF本稿の目的は，SLの多元的・重層的な評価の枠組みの手掛かりを得ることである。そのため，SLの関係性モデルとして示されるSOFARモデルを用いて，2018年度から2021年度にかけて実施したSLプログラムの事例検討を行う。その結果，SL実践で関与する様々な主体の関係性が可視化されること，可視化されたものがプログラム評価の材料となりえること，参加する学生の学びの促進が期待されること，が確認された。The purpose of this paper is to use the SOFAR model to conduct a case study of a 4-year SL program and consider the SL assessment framework.

Competencies Required of Elementary School Teachers Who Can Provide Safety Management and Disaster Prevention Education
Get PDF自然災害の多い日本では、学校における災害安全の取り組みが重要であることから、中央教育審議会においても、防災の視点を持つ教員の養成・研修のあり方が指摘されるようになっている。
いっぽう現状では、安全管理、防災教育の具体的な教育方法、教育効果の評価方法に関する研究は未だ少ないことから、筆者らは、2021（令和3）年度から科学研究費基盤Ｂを受託し、「災害安全対策能力を備えた小学校教員育成のための総合プログラム開発に関する研究」という研究課題のもと、とくに小学校において防災教育を行うことができる教員養成のための標準プログラムを提案することをめざして研究を開始した。
この研究ノートではその基礎的検討として、学校安全及び災害安全と防災教育の概念整理を行ったのち、安全管理・防災教育に求められる教員の資質について、兵庫県と神戸市の教員資質向上指標を事例として紹介する。In Japan, where natural disasters are common, disaster safety efforts in schools are important.
The Central Council for Education has pointed out the need for training and education of teachers with a perspective on disaster prevention. However, there are few studies on safety management, specific educational methods for disaster prevention education, and methods for evaluating educational effectiveness.
Our research, which is funded by the Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (KAKENHI B) in 2021 under the theme of "Research on the Development of a Comprehensive Program for the Training of Elementary School Teachers with Disaster Safety Preparedness Skills”, has the goal of proposing a standard program for training teachers who can provide disaster education in elementary schools. Specifically, in this research note, first, we will review the concepts of school safety and disaster safety and disaster education. Then, we will introduce the teacher qualifications necessary for safety management and disaster prevention education, using the teacher quality improvement indicators of Hyogo Prefecture and Kobe City as examples.departmental bulletin pape
Intergenerational Comparison of the Determining Punishment and Attitude toward Punishments.
Get PDFIn this study, a survey was conducted for a wide range of age groups. The purpose was to determine the characteristics of the general public's view of criminal punishments, and whether there are differences in the view of criminal punishments and determination of the appropriate sentences by age. Three thousand men and women in their twenties to sixties participated in the survey. As a result of factor analysis, two factors were extracted regarding the view of criminal punishments: orientation toward severe punishment and rehabilitation. The percentage of respondents with a high or low orientation toward severe punishment and rehabilitation was highest for those with a low orientation toward severe punishment and a high orientation toward rehabilitation, followed by those with a high orientation toward severe punishment and a low orientation toward rehabilitation, those with a high orientation toward both, and those with a low orientation toward both. The results of the analysis of variance showed that there was no difference between the age groups in terms of their orientation toward severe criminal punishment as well as their orientation toward rehabilitation, but the older age groups tended to favor lighter punishment on determination of the appropriate sentences. The reason why the older age groups tended to favor lighter punishment could be related to the fact that they tend to be more lenient due to aging.本研究では、一般市民の刑罰観の特徴、刑罰観および量刑判断に年齢による差があるかを明らかにするため、幅広い年代を対象に調査を実施した。20代から60代の男女3000人が調査に参加した。因子分析の結果、刑罰観は厳罰志向と更生志向の2因子が抽出された。厳罰志向と更生志向の高低の割合は、厳罰志向が低く更生志向が高い者が最も多く、次いで厳罰志向が高く更生志向が低い者、両方が高い者、両方が低い者の順であった。分散分析の結果、刑罰観の厳罰志向と更生志向において年齢による差はみられなかったが、量刑は年齢があがるにつれて軽く判断される傾向がみられた。年齢があがるにつれて量刑が軽く判断された理由としては、加齢による寛容さの高まりが関連している可能性が考えられた。departmental bulletin pape

Then, the possibility of the popularization of the floating-body type on the ocean wind power generation is investigated.2020年10月26日、当時の菅内閣総理大臣が所信表明で「2050年までに温室効果ガスの排出を全体として0にする（カーボンニュートラル）」と発言した。また2021年4月22日の気候変動サミットで2030年度のCO2削減目標を2013年度比で従前の26％削減を46％にまで引き上げることを表明した。これらにより2021年7月に資源エネルギー庁が発表した第6次エネルギー基本計画における電源構成に占める風力発電が1.7％から6％と約3.5倍に引き上げられた（太陽光発電は7％から15％で約2.1倍）。日本においては風力発電の中でも特に注目を浴びているのが浮体式洋上風力発電である。本論文は浮体式洋上風力発電について考察し、その普及の可能性を闡明する。departmental bulletin pape
