Objective: The objective of the study is to find out the influence of games & sports on group cohesion development among male Indian athletes. Methodology: For the purpose of the study, 100 sportsmen and 100 non-sportsmen boys were randomly selected. The age of all the subjects ranges from 18 yrs. to 22 yrs. The Group Environment Questionnaire (GEQ) developed by Albert V. Carron, was used to assess the group cohesion skills of the subjects. Descriptive statistics was used to examine the significance difference among four domains of Group Cohesion (A- Individual Attractions to the Group-Social (ATGS), B- Individual Attractions to the Group-Task (ATGT), C- Group Integration-Social (GIS), D- Group Integration-Task (GIT)). One-way ANOVA was used, and the hypothesis was tested at a .05 level of significance. Results: The mean and standard deviation of non-playing boys are A- Individual Attractions to the Group-Social (ATGS) (31.02 +4.16), B- Individual Attractions to the Group-Task (ATGT) (29.20+6.17), C- Group Integration-Social (GIS) (27.22+5.64), D- Group Integration-Task (GIT) (34.16+8.26) and Total Group Environment Questionnaire (GEQ) Scale is (121.70 +17.26). Mean and standard deviation of players in different games and sports are A- Individual Attractions to the Group-Social (ATGS) (41.82 +2.54), B- Individual Attractions to the Group-Task (ATGT) (31.20+4.32), C- Group Integration-Social (GIS) (29.38+4.99), D- Group Integration-Task (GIT) (40.32+5.26) and Total Group Environment Questionnaire (GEQ) Scale is (142.72 +12.32). The ANOVA result shows that the “p-values” of the domains of the Group Environment Questionnaire (GEQ) Scale is less than 0.05 and hence the F-value is significant at 5% level. Conclusion: Results clearly indicates that there is a significant difference existing between the group cohesion and sports achievements of college boys. Students who are high on the GEQ Scale are having high sports achievement hence group cohesion plays major role in sports achievements among male students. Development of group cohesion among player’s leads to better sports performance.  Article visualizations

In fact, the paper takes on the character of an auxiliary tool, which can serve teachers for constructivist teaching during classes in the field of “Expression and Creativity” for writing a creative work, but it also becomes an auxiliary tool for elementary school students, which can serve as an orientation tool for writing individual creative works. The paper is published intentionally to stimulate students to read as many books as possible and to develop their writing skills by continuously creating different creative works. Research purpose: The purpose of this research focused on three objectives: To provide theoretical explanations for the concepts of constructivist teaching for the development of critical and creative thinking of students for writing various creations; To reflect the research methodology at the “Ismail Qemali” Primary School-Gostivar, RMV; To reflect some of the students’ creations created with a constructivist teaching orientation. To also reflect the conclusion of this research. Research methods: In this theoretical-empirical research, the method of theoretical pedagogical-didactic and linguistic analysis was used, the empirical experimental-applicative action method “ex post facto”, the descriptive method, the analysis method, the observation method. The sample of this research focused in research instruments -creations, that were made as a result of constructivist teaching.  Article visualizations

    Get PDF
In today’s globalized maritime industry, English is more than a tool for communication—it is a critical factor in safety, professional development, and operational efficiency. This article argues that maritime students in Greece must prioritize the mastery of Maritime English to succeed in their careers. Drawing from personal teaching experience in a Greek Merchant Marine Academy, the article highlights real-life scenarios where English proficiency directly impacts safety at sea, international teamwork, and career opportunities. It also underscores the need for educational reform to move beyond grammar-heavy curricula toward context-based, communication-focused instruction. References to International Maritime Organization (IMO) guidelines and academic research support the case for reshaping English instruction to meet global maritime standards.  Article visualizations

    Get PDF
Grounded in Amabile's Componential Theory of Creativity (CTC), this study proposed and tested a mediation model examining how students' perceptions of green inclusive leadership (PGIL) influence their green creativity (GCRY) through green thinking (GT). Using convenience sampling, 598 students from two colleges in China were selected to complete questionnaires. PROCESS macro analyzed the data, confirming all hypotheses. Findings showed that students’ PGIL positively affected their GCRY through GT. This study confirmed the conceptual framework of PGIL and the CTC, addressing the need for further research on the motivational processes behind GCRY. The uniqueness of this research stems from its application of the CTC within sustainability education. Additionally, the study examines the practical implications of green leadership in fostering GCRY in colleges.  Article visualizations

    Get PDF
Determining the factors that affect academic success is essential for enhancing educational outcomes for students, especially those with disabilities like hearing impairments. The study examines the relationship between locus of control and academic performance in deaf secondary schools. The study employed a correlational design. The population for the study was 942 second-year deaf students of secondary schools. A multistage sampling procedure was used to choose 400 participants. The study employed three (3) instruments: the academic performance test (APT) (English Language and Mathematics) and the locus of control scale (LCS). The study data was analysed using Pearson Product-Moment Correlation (r) and Independent Sample t-test. Findings revealed a significant positive correlation between locus of control and academic performance among deaf students of senior secondary schools in Ghana and Nigeria. A significant difference also exists between Ghana and Nigeria based on deaf students' academic performance. It was therefore recommended that targeted interventions that foster an internal locus of control should be incorporated into educational assistance programs for deaf students to improve academic performance.  Article visualizations

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ADAPTED TEACHING STRATEGIES AND THE TEACHING OF FUNCTIONAL SKILLS TO LEARNERS WITH CEREBRAL PALSY IN SPECIAL UNITS IN KILIFI COUNTY, KENYA

    Get PDF
Learners with cerebral palsy (CP) often have great difficulty obtaining functional skills necessary for autonomous life. Teaching these functional abilities calls for modified curricula that fit the student's particular requirements. This study looked at how learners with CP in special units in Kilifi County, Kenya's customized teaching methodologies affected their instruction of functional abilities. Using thirty special needs education-trained teachers spread throughout four special units, a correlational study was conducted. Interviews, observation checklists and questionnaires all helped to gather data. Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation and linear regression analysis were used to examine quantitative data. Qualitative data were thematically examined. Adapted teaching strategies and effective functional skills instruction showed a clear positive connection (r = 0.61, p = 0.01). Teachers using tailored, task-specific, learner-centered approaches saw notable changes in students' self-care, communication, mobility and social engagement. More general acceptance of adaptive techniques was hampered, nevertheless, by restricted professional development opportunities and financial restraints. This study emphasizes the important part adaptive methods play in helping students with CP become independent and provides suggestions for how policy support, teacher preparation and resource allocation could be improved. Concerning global approaches in special needs education, implications are also covered.  Article visualizations

EXPRESSING THE CONCEPT OF PRIVACY THROUGH DRAWINGS: A QUALITATIVE EVALUATION OF STUDENTS WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES

    Get PDF
This study aimed to explore the perspectives of individuals with intellectual disabilities in mid-to-late adolescence regarding privacy, using drawings and verbal expressions. The participants of the study consisted of 14 adolescents with intellectual disabilities, aged 15–18, attending a Special Education and Rehabilitation Center located in Halkalı-Merkez, Istanbul, in 2022, including 7 females and 7 males. Participants were selected through purposive sampling. Three data collection tools were employed in the study: (1) a Personal Information Form (PIF) consisting of five questions, and (2) a Ten-Question Draw-a-Girl Test (DGT) and Draw-a-Boy Test (DBT). Necessary ethical approvals were obtained prior to the commencement of the research. The findings revealed that the majority of participants completed their drawings in a short period of 0–2 minutes without paying sufficient attention to details. A significant portion of participants expressed aspirations such as getting married, becoming wealthy, or owning a home in the future, while some indicated that they did not wish to have a romantic partner and desired to pursue various professions. The most admired qualities in the drawings were reported as helpfulness, having a profession, and physical attractiveness. Based on these findings, it is suggested that future studies could address career choice, professional ethics, and readiness levels for individuals with intellectual disabilities. The characteristics of opposite-gender characters drawn by participants often emphasized quick temper and unjustified negative behavior. Therefore, it is recommended that municipalities and relevant institutions develop educational programs on marriage and relationships for individuals with intellectual disabilities who are considering marriage. Additionally, while most drawn characters were depicted living with their families, some participants expressed a desire to live with their partners. This indicates the need for associations and institutions to provide education on the responsibilities, advantages, disadvantages, and relational expectations of cohabitation. Participants’ reluctance to resemble the drawn characters was attributed to feelings of anger or frustration toward the characters. Accordingly, it is recommended that guidance counselors and psychological advisors provide emotional support to these students.  Article visualizations
