The Future of English Spreading Around the World : From the Perspective of English History
Get PDFP(論文)This paper is a brief content of the lectures that I have given at Saitama University over the years. It is not just a summary of all the books on the history of the English language I have read so far, but a unique article with original perspective and knowledge of European culture, literature, and history that I have acquired through my life as a university lecturer. The theme of my graduation thesis was the writing-style of Hemingway and the theme of my masterʼs thesis was Sir Walter Scottʼs sense of history. Therefore, Iʼm especially particular about English and American literature. Naturally, the tendency to literature is reflected in this paper. But I believe that the history of literature and the history of the language are inextricably linked, so I would like to emphasize that fact and try to quote as many original texts of the literary works as possible. The English used here is American English, and the level of English is the general liberal arts level of the university. This is a record of English history that I would like many English learners to have, in order for them to acquire a more comprehensive understanding of the historical, linguistic, political, and cultural background of English. Get PDFP(論文)本稿では，ロジスティクスオペレーションの高度化に寄与する情報システムを取り上げ，導入当初からこれまでに至る進展の状況を概観するとともに，今後期待される方向の一案を示した。まず，冒頭の第2章では，ロジスティクスとその基本的な役割を示した上で，現在ロジスティクス分野においてどのような情報技術・システムが活用されているかを簡単に紹介した。続く第3章では，ロジスティクス業務の高度化に寄与してきた5種の情報システム，即ち，WMS（Warehouse Management System），TMS（Transport Management System），需給マッチングシステムDSMS（Demand and Supply Matching System），トレーサビリティシステムTRCS（Traceability System），および高度道路交通システムITS（Intelligent Transport System）を挙げ，ロジスティクスの課題との関連性を示した上で，これら5種の情報システムの進展を支える情報技術を，①デジタル技術，②モバイル・ワイヤレス技術，③インターネットとクラウド技術，および④第4次産業革命を牽引する先進技術の4つに分類し，それぞれの進展状況を紹介した。さらに，第4章では，上記5種のロジスティクス情報システムについて，最近までの流れを概観した上でそれぞれの進展の状況を事例も交えて紹介した。その上で，第5章においてロジスティクス情報システムの将来方向としてデジタルデータ利活用型プラットフォームが期待され，その運用を通して『将来需要に対し予測ベースでのリソースシェアリングで対応可能なスマートロジスティクスサービス』の提供が可能になることを示した。departmental bulletin pape
