European Structural Funds and human resource productivity
Following the accession to the European Union, Romania and the other former communist countries are facing multiple problems in their attempt to reduce the economic and social disparities between them and the older members of the EU. In order to support the efforts of the young members in alignment process with the Community norms and standards, the EU, through the Regional Development Policy, gives these countries structural and cohesion funds. In the present article we intend to analyze the impact that these structural funds have on the efficiency with which the human resource is used in the beneficiary companies. The analysis is performed at the level of the North-East Region of Romania on the financial statements of the companies benefiting from structural funds during the multi-annual exercise 2007-2013.In the analyzes made on the basis of the financial statements of the companies receiving non-reimbursable financial aid, we find that there are statistically representative changes regarding the increase in the average number of employees, but we could not identify any noticeable effect on the average labor productivity

The development intensity of SME in the Republic of Moldova through the comparative statistical analysis with the European Union countries
Nowadays, in most countries in the world, a growing emphasis is placed on supporting entrepreneurial development, because the development and economic growth of the country depends largely of the entrepreneurship development, which is predominantly focused on SMEs. The aim of this paper is to argue the difference in the development of SMEs between the European Union and the Republic of Moldova, based on the statistical data attesting the intensity of the development of SMEs and their shares according to their fields of activity. Often, the contribution of SMEs to non-financial business sectors and the importance of the sectors for SMEs determines the development of the economy. In this aspect, there is felt the negative impact of the overweight of the wholesale and retail trade in the turnover structure of SMEs in the Republic of Moldova. On the other hand, the distribution of SMEs in sectors where the manufacturing share is extremely low is largely due to business finance problems. At the same time, the article examines the results of the youth respondents survey conducted within the HEIFYE project in the Republic of Moldova, which highlights in particular the financial problems of entrepreneurship in our country.Nowadays, in most countries in the world, a growing emphasis is placed on supporting entrepreneurial development, because the development and economic growth of the country depends largely of the entrepreneurship development, which is predominantly focused on SMEs. The main purpose of the paper is to analyze the codes of conduct of successful companies in Romania, in terms of their content and the message they convey. We consider the analysis of their design criteria, the vision and the values according to which companies are guided in business, what are the particularities of these codes, to what extent the code contributes to the company\u27s success. The analysis reveals that all successful companies declare through the code of conduct the mission, the values and principles that guide them in business. There are certain keywords referring to the policies adopted and there are also values and principles that are particularly found in codes depending on the industry in which the companies operate. We have also identified certain particular features of codes of conduct

Therefore, and for policy purposes, these results may produce useful pieces of information which might be helpful in the creation of tailored-made training programs which would promote good practises of financial behavior and savings habits

EXPLORING THE SECURITY CHALLENGES IN HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM IN NIGERIA
Tourism is said to be a business of providing travel, accommodation, food, entertainment for the people who are on travel (Mohamed 2007). Among the consumer variables that affect ones buying behaviour are his mental constructs like: attitude perception, motives and learning.(Kolawole 2011). However, once a consumer is not motivated to buy a product because of some factors that are related to insecurity, much will not be expected in the industry. More so, on the international scene, Nigeria is viewed as a country that is richly blessed culturally. According to the United Nations World Tourism Organization, international tourists arrivals slumped by 1.3 percent in 2001. The changing attitudes of travelers in the wake of various attacks were reflected in the manner in which a number of independent travelers dealt with the fear of insecurity. Likewise in Nigeria, the aspirations and hopes towards a greater Nigeria in tourism receipts has been an illusion
