ASSESSMENT AND HIERARCHY OF NATURAL LANDSCAPE FEATURES OF INTEREST FOR TOURISTS IN RURAL DESTINATIONS

    No full text
Rural tourism in Romania is a sector with great potential for development, and all stakeholders, from tourists to authorities and investors in this field, are directing their attention toward it. However, an analysis of the number of tourists in rural destinations reveals that not all sites have the same level of attraction among tourists. Factors such as infrastructure and the quality of the services offered are crucial elements that can influence tourists’ decisions regarding one destination over another. As the natural environment is also a critical factor to be considered in rural tourism, we included it in our study. The study involved a survey conducted in Romania and Italy in January and February 2023. The results underscore the importance of terrain and vegetation in influencing tourists’ choices for spending their holidays in a rural destination. The built environment also holds interest for tourists, which can benefit authorities and investors in enhancing the overall tourism product

International migration of Romanians. A gravity model analysis.

    No full text
Migration at international level is an important aspect to be known for every country in the world, either it is a generator of migrants or a receiver. For this reason, we chose to analyse the international migration for Romania. Romania is a country with high levels of emigration since the communism regime has fallen and, also, after becoming a member of European Union when labour mobility became free.  The period of analysis is 2000-2020. In this period of time in the top preferences of destinations for Romanians were Germany, Italy, Spain, and United Kingdom. For the empirical part it was used Poisson Pseudo Maximum Likelihood estimator with fixed effects (PPML with fixed effects) on a gravity model. Results show that Romanians migration is driven by pull effects, rather than push effects. So, people are leaving for better conditions: more available jobs and higher wages in the destination country. In addition, the results are robust when we introduce a dummy variable, for the crisis in the years 2008 and 2020

THE CONTRIBUTION OF ”LEADER” AND ”LOCAL ACTION GROUPS” TO SUSTAINABLE REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT

    No full text
Abstract The idea of sustainable regional development has only lately become popular in the countryside, even though rural areas always play a role in the economic and social prosperity of the area in which they are situated, no matter their current state of progress. The goal of closing economic and social inequalities gave rise to the LEADER program, which is based on the knowledge and abilities of local communities in identifying growth opportunities. Local Action Groups are the tangible answer, the materialization of the opportunities that nearby communities can harness to become part of the current European village growth strategy, which promotes the societal, cultural, and economic success of the locality. Utilizing a quantitative approach based on a questionnaire, we conducted this study to ascertain the current level of understanding among experts operating at the local action group level in Suceava County regarding the interaction between public-private partnerships (PPP) and sustainable regional development. The decision to consult these organizations is based on the aim of valuing local potential through the allocation of European financing to critical issues and challenges that promote sustainable regional development. Significant components that can improve the bond between public-private partnerships and sustainable regional development were found as a result of the quantitative study conducted using the questionnaire approach at the level of Suceava County\u27s Local Action Groups. Abstract The idea of sustainable regional development has only lately become popular in the countryside, even though rural areas always play a role in the economic and social prosperity of the area in which they are situated, no matter their current state of progress. No full text
The article titled "Personal Time Management in the Private and Public Sectors of Georgia" discusses the research conducted by the author in these areas regarding the management of personal time for employees and employers. The survey included 2,089 respondents, of whom 1,569 were employed and 520 were employers. Among the employed participants, 55.3% worked in the private sector, while 44.7% worked in the public sector. Employers were also distributed between the private and public sectors, with 50.2% and 49.8% respectively. Both focus groups involved in the research were interviewed with different questionnaires. Employees were interviewed with a 4-question questionnaire and a Likert-scale rating of variables related to personal time. Through the analysis of the responses, it was discovered that improper planning of the working day emerged as the second or third most common factor hindering employees from accomplishing their set goals and completing tasks on time. The article further elaborates on how the top contributing factor, receiving accurate information from the manager, is directly influenced by the manager\u27s inadequate or non-existent planning of their own working time. As a result, 23.5% of employees often, and 3.5% constantly have to stay at work and continue working after the end of the working day. Regarding the scoring of the four variables related to the use of working time by employees (I don\u27t sleep 7-8 hours, I don\u27t spend enough time for others, I don\u27t spend enough time developing a strategy and I don\u27t spend enough time doing things I enjoy), the study showed that the majority of employees do not agree with these statements and give them low scores (1 and 2). The exception is the first variable, where the frequency of agreement scores exceeded the frequency of disagreement (43.8% > 42.2%). In parallel with the employees, research has also been conducted on the employers. The study of the employers\u27 personal time was carried out with a 5-question questionnaire and a score evaluation of four time-related variables. On average, 49% of employers indicated that improper planning of the working day prevents them from achieving their goals, and at the same time, an average of 20% admitted that they do not have time to plan their activities. As for the point evaluation of the variables related to working day management, they rated all four variables with low scores, indicating disagreement with the established regulations. The article concludes that simply recognizing the importance of working time planning is not enough. Its practical implementation is necessary

THE ROLE OF UNIVERSITY SPIN-OFFS NETWORK CHOICES IN THE QUALITY OF TECHNOLOGICAL TRANSFER AND CAPITALIZATION OF ACADEMIC RESEARCH

    No full text
The research carried out in this article (a synthesis of specialized literature regarding the networks used by academic spin-offs in order to achieve an effective technology transfer) refers to the interaction of academic entrepreneurs with different internal (university) and external (commercial) networks. The research aims to identify in which way the characteristics of both internal and external networks can contribute to the growth and performances of these companies. The main conclusion seems to be the approach pro access to networks outside the university for an increased visibility of university-developed technology and facilitates access to other networks and sustainable technological transfer. Furthermore the visibility of academic research will improve access to other relevant networks, involving at the same time other outputs for university spin-offs such as: reducing parent university dependency, obtaining funding from other sources, increasing market adaptability and agility.

APPLICATION OF PROFESSIONAL JUDGEMENT IN THE RECOGNITION OF PROVISIONS. THE CASE OF BSE LISTED COMPANIES

    No full text
The equity of an entity reflects the wealth of its owners, which is, in effect, the residual interest of the shareholders in the assets of the entity after deducting liabilities. In determining shareholders\u27 net assets, all liabilities of the entity must be taken into account, including uncertain or contingent liabilities such as provisions. The nature, opportunity and value of provisions should be disclosed in the explanatory notes to provide full information to interested parties. This work focused in particular on the analysis of provisions, because over time, provisions have been difficult to interpret due to their subjective and cashless nature, and these features describe their vulnerability to manipulation. The research objective of the authors is, on the one hand, to present the aspects concerning the recognition and valuation of provisions, i.e., to detail the main peculiarities of provisions, according to IAS 37, and, on the other hand, to analyse the implementation of the international standard IAS 37 ,,Provisions, contingent liabilities and contingent assets" in entities listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, on the regulated market. Thus, the authors aim to analyse the presence of provisions reported by entities listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange on the regulated market, as well as the areas in which these items are of significant importance
