«Estar feminista» en las aulas universitarias: introducir la teoría feminista como metodología de análisis interseccional y transversal.
Get PDFThe following paper presents a transversal teaching material to introduce Feminist Theory, Critique and Epistemology in University classrooms. Generally, the bibliographies of teaching plans do not contain studies by women, queer subjects, racialized subjects, or those about the impact of patriarchy or capitalism on women, ethnic and religious minorities, migrants, people with disabilities or LGTBIQ+. However, the development of critical thinking is an objective that is generally included in the teaching plans. It is necessary to counterbalance this absence of adequate critical tools to teach students to think about the structural injustices of society, for which we present a didactic material based on ‘Estar feminista (una baila, otra no)’, by Marta Mantecón, from the volume Feminismos de cercanía (Feminisms of proximity). It is an activist text based on concepts that are being developed and discussed in the Academy (that need to get out of there). The material consists on a table in which concepts of Feminist Theory are related to researchers and explanatory quotations. In this way, it contributes to the demystification of the ‘scientific objectivism’ of hegemonic knowledge, legitimizing situated knowledge through personal experiences which create community. In addition, the boundaries between Academia and activism are broken down, promoting the transit of the liminal space between both. El siguiente trabajo presenta un material didáctico de carácter transversal para introducir la teoría, crítica y epistemología feministas en las aulas universitarias. Generalmente, las bibliografías de referencia de los planes docentes no contienen estudios realizados por mujeres, sujetos queer, racializados o que aborden temas relacionados con el impacto del patriarcado o el capitalismo en mujeres, minorías étnicas y religiosas, migrantes, personas con discapacidad o LGTBIQ+. Sin embargo, la consecución de pensamiento crítico es un objetivo que se incluye, de manera generalizada en los programas de las asignaturas de las instituciones universitarias. Es necesario suplir esta ausencia de herramientas críticas adecuadas para la instrucción del alumnado en la reflexividad acerca de las injusticias estructurales de la sociedad, para lo cual se presenta un material didáctico elaborado a partir de «Estar feminista (una baila, otra no)», de Marta Mantecón, del volumen Feminismos de cercanía. Se trata de un texto activista y divulgativo, fruto de la interiorización de conceptos que se desarrollan y discuten en la Academia (y necesitan salir de ella). El material consiste en una tabla en la cual se relacionan conceptos de la teoría feminista con investigadoras referentes y citas explicativas. De esta forma, se contribuye a la desmitificación del «objetivismo científico» del saber hegemónico, legitimando conocimientos situados a través de experiencias personales que crean comunidad. Se logra, además, derribar fronteras entre Academia y activismo, abogando por el tránsito del espacio liminal entre ambos, que no son excluyentes

Get PDF In this research we carry out a qualitative approach to the linguistic landscape from a gender perspective, focusing on the demonstrations that took place in Seville on the afternoon of 8 March 2024. The demonstrations are a method of struggle with a long history in feminism that allows to make society participate in the demands of this movement. Taking José Medina's concept of epistemic activism as a basis, we analyze the linguistic landscape of the demonstrations held in Seville, convinced of the semiotic value of the discourses present in the streets this day to know the paths along which the movement evolves and to show how the feminist perspective promotes an epistemic activism of resistance.En esta investigación realizamos un acercamiento cualitativo al paisaje lingüístico desde una perspectiva de género centrándonos en las manifestaciones que tuvieron lugar en Sevilla el 8 de marzo de 2024. Las manifestaciones son un método de lucha con una larga historia en el feminismo que permite hacer partícipe a la sociedad de las reivindicaciones de este movimiento. Tomando el concepto de activismo epistémico de José Medina como base, analizamos el paisaje lingüístico de las manifestaciones celebradas en Sevilla convencidas del valor semiótico de los discursos presente en las calles este día para conocer los derroteros por los que evoluciona el movimiento y para mostrar como la perspectiva feminista promueve un activismo epistémico de resistencia

Get PDFThe integration of generative AI tools in game design education offers promising ways to streamline the grading, assessment, and feedback processes that are typically labor-intensive. In game design programs, faculty often deal with varied file formats, including 3D models, executable prototypes, videos, and complex game design documents. Traditional methods of assessment and feedback, primarily text-based, struggle to provide timely and actionable insights for students. Furthermore, only a small percentage of top students consistently review and apply feedback, leading to inefficiencies. This article explores how generative AI tools can augment these processes by automating aspects of grading, generating more personalized and meaningful feedback, and addressing the time-intensive nature of reviewing diverse file formats. Key strategies are discussed, including the use of rubrics tailored for AI-based assessment, automated prompts for narrative-driven assignments, and the application of AI in reviewing complex project builds. The objective is to create more time for faculty to engage in live mentoring and hands-on learning activities, which research shows to be more effective. Practical examples of various game design assignments, including build reviews and document evaluations, are provided to illustrate these new approaches. This shift promises to enhance student engagement and improve learning outcomes.La integración de herramientas de IA generativa en la educación de diseño de videojuegos ofrece formas prometedoras de optimizar los procesos de calificación, evaluación y retroalimentación, que suelen ser intensivos en mano de obra. En los programas de diseño de videojuegos, el profesorado a menudo maneja formatos de archivo variados, incluidos modelos 3D, prototipos ejecutables, videos y documentos complejos de diseño de juegos. Los métodos tradicionales de evaluación y retroalimentación, principalmente basados en texto, tienen dificultades para proporcionar a los estudiantes ideas oportunas y accionables. Además, solo un pequeño porcentaje de los estudiantes más destacados revisa y aplica de manera constante la retroalimentación, lo que genera ineficiencias. Get PDFScience fiction is a prolific genre with critical-constructive potential regarding the notion and position of humanity in relation to other living beings. the ability to create speculative stories about probable futures in which technology has advanced allows for the exploration of ethical, moral, and legal issues that are highly relevant today. beyond the novels commonly associated with the transhumanist movement, those that reconstruct the humanist concept of the subject without completely detaching from it are particularly interesting. Among these, and setting aside the most frequently analyzed and studied works, Poul Anderson’s brain wave emerges as a significant fiction for questioning the defining and privileged characteristics of humanity in relation to other living beings, prompting essential reflection on rights. two significant themes can be highlighted in this work: the first is the overvaluation of rational intelligence and the illusory moral self-sufficiency of humans, and consequently, the defense of the crucial role of emotions and the necessary relational moral autonomy that defines human beings. the second theme concerns the questioning of humanity’s privileged position in the world, as we are, in fact, fragile and vulnerable beings, sentient entities that suffer like other animals. It is precisely this vulnerability that fosters bonds of empathy and compassion with other sentient beings, which can help reframe the notion of social justice and our way of life in communion with nature.La ciencia ficción es un género prolífico con potencialidad crítico-constructiva respecto a la noción y posición del ser humano en relación con el resto de seres vivos. El hecho de conformar historias especulativas sobre futuros probables en los que la tecnología ha avanzado permite introducir y profundizar sobre temas éticos, morales y jurídicos que son de plena actualidad. Más allá de las novelas que se han asociado con el movimiento transhumanista, me interesan aquellas que dentro del género reconstruyen el concepto humanista de sujeto, sin separarse totalmente de él. Entre ellas me parece relevante Onda Cerebral (Brain Wave) de Poul Anderson, una ficción excepcional para cuestionar la características definitorias y privilegiadas del ser humano frente al resto de seres vivos y conducir a la necesaria reflexión sobre los derechos. Hay dos temas significativos que quiero destacar de esta obra: el primero es nuestra sobrevaloración de la inteligencia racional y la ilusoria autosuficiencia moral humanas y, por consiguiente, la defensa del papel tan relevante de las emociones y la forzosa autonomía moral relacional que nos define; el segundo se refiere al cuestionamiento de nuestra posición privilegiada en el mundo ya que somos seres frágiles o vulnerables, seres sintientes que sufren como resto de animales. Es precisamente esa vulnerabilidad lo que hace generar lazos de empatía y compasión con el resto de animales que sienten como nosotros, y lo que puede ayudar a replantear el sentido de la Justicia social y nuestra manera de vida en comunión con la naturaleza

20 Years of the German Euro Are More than Enough
Get PDFThis paper reviews the performance of the euro area since the euro’s launch 20 years ago. It argues that the euro crisis has exposed existential flaws in the euro regime. Intra-area divergences and the corresponding buildup of imbalances had remained unchecked prior to the crisis. As those imbalances eventually imploded, member states were found to be extremely vulnerable to systemic banking problems and abruptly deteriorating public finances. Debt legacies and high unemployment continue to plague euro crisis countries. Its huge current account surplus highlights that the euro currency union, toiling under the German euro and trying to emulate the German model, has become very vulnerable to global developments. The euro regime is flawed and dysfunctional. Europe has to overcome the German euro. Three reforms are essential to turn the euro into a viable European currency. First, divergences in competitiveness positions must be prevented in future. Second, market integration must go hand in hand with policy integration. Third, the euro is lacking a safe footing for as long as the ECB is missing a federal treasury partner. Therefore, establishing the vital treasury–central bank axis that stands at the center of power in sovereign states is essential.This paper reviews the performance of the euro area since the euro’s launch 20 years ago.
