An Evaluation of the Impact of Zakah and Islamic Financial Instruments on Economic Growth
This study analyzes the effect of Islamic economic instruments, such as zakat, SBSN, and Islamic Venture Capital (MVS), on Indonesia's economic growth. GDP measures economic growth, while the zakat variable is proxied by the distribution carried out by BAZNAS. Furthermore, MVS and SBSN are measured by total sharia business financing, and total ownership of State Sukuk issued during the study period. This study uses multiple linear models to analyze the impact of Islamic venture capital, ZIS, and SBSN regression from 2011 – 2020. The multiple regression tests were used to partially or simultaneously determine the effect of ZIS funds delivery, Sukuk (SBSN), and Islamic venture capital financing on Indonesia's economic growth. The results showed that the distribution of ZIS partially significantly affects economic growth. The SBSN and Venture Capital variables also have a significant and positive effect. Simultaneously, ZIS distribution and Sharia financing, namely SBSN and Islamic Venture Capital, significantly affected economic growth. This result implies that an increase in Islamic capital financing, SBSN, and distribution of ZIS funds can positively encourage Indonesia's economic growth
A Cross-Cultural Pragmatics Study of Request Strategies and Politeness in Javanese and Sundanese
This study aims to examine and compare request strategies and politeness of two groups of native speakers from two different ethnic groups in Indonesia, i.e., Javanese and Sundanese. The data were collected by using Discourse Completion Task (DCT) with 60 participants from 30 Javanese (East Java) and 30 Sundanese (West Java) speakers. The data were analyzed by using the classification of request strategies by Blum-Kulka et al., 1989) and social contexts in terms of social power, social distance, and degree of imposition by Brown and Levinson (1987) to reveal the levels of directness and politeness of request employed by each group of speakers. The result of this study indicates that Direct Strategy in the form of mood derivable and Conventionally Indirect Strategy in the form of query preparatory are two request strategies that are mainly employed by both Javanese and Sundanese speakers. In particular, Javanese speakers employ a more Direct Strategy than Sundanese speakers. However, the patterns of request strategies employed by Javanese and Sundanese speakers in most social contexts are similar. In addition, both groups of speakers can also adapt to the situations and employ appropriate requests to the hearer. Therefore, politeness and appropriateness in requests employed by each group of speakers in their DCT responses can reflect the local wisdom of each culture. Keywords: requests; social contexts; politeness; Javanese; Sundanes

Ideology and identity transformation in the deradicalization of Muslim extremists in Indonesia
This article used a biographical approach to follow the lives of former Muslim extremists in examining individual deradicalization from the actors' perspective. The results of the extremists' deradicalization were examined using theories of Salafi ideology and identity transformation. Deradicalization marks a period of transformation - a process of taking a new ideology and identity and initiating a new power. The doers adopt a new jihad ideology after being influenced by a colorful interpretation of jihad. The deradicalization also shifts from the Salafi jihadi/irhabi to the Salafi Purist, or from a violent to a less-violent jihad. They continue to support violent jihad but restrict how its principles are used. Few extremists decide to engage in moderate or non-violent jihad on their own initiative and without the influence of others. In conclusion, deradicalization does not ensure their eradication. It implies a certain amount of transformation into a new identity, which has profound short- and long-term effects. The first demonstrates that former Muslim extremists who still identify as jihadists, adhere to their ideology, and engage in a variety of jihad-related activities. The deradicalization of the extremists will be more challenging the more in-depth the knowledge and experience of violent jihad. On the other hand, the latter is dedicated to leaving the violent jihad group and ending recidivism
Digital Platform, Financial Literacy and Motivation on Generation Z's Decision to Invest in Islamic Stocks: A Structural Equation Modelling Analysis
This study aims to determine the relationship between the measurement and structural models of digital platform, financial literacy, motivation, and Generation Z's decision to invest in Islamic stocks. Furthermore, this study uses Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis and involves more than two variables, with 123 respondents from West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, who actively invest in Islamic stocks, providing accurate information through multivariate analysis. The study found that digital platforms and motivation have a significant impact on Generation Z's decision to invest in Islamic stocks, while financial literacy has an insignificant effect. However, the analysis results indicated that financial literacy has indirectly motivated them to invest in these types of stocks through motivation. This suggests that digital platforms and motivation play a crucial role in investment decisions. Therefore, service providers need to continuously develop digital applications as transaction tools to cater to the needs of Generation Z. Additionally, improving financial literacy is crucial to increasing people's investment skills, even though it may not directly affect investment decisions

EFL Teachers' Beliefs and ICT Integration Practices During Distance Learning: Employing Replacement, Amplification, and Transformation Framework
Technology is successfully integrated when technology makes learning effective, efficient, and creative. It cannot be denied that technology positively contributes to teaching and learning. Moreover, in the current pandemic conditions where the learning process must be carried out remotely, technology helps this teaching and learning process more accessible. The objective of the study is to see the EFL teachers’ beliefs and ICT integration practices during distance learning. This study investigates teachers' beliefs of ICT integration based on the current theory and situation. The researchers used a qualitative approach in this case study; three EFL teachers were interviewed and observed. The finding of the study is all EFL teachers had positive beliefs about ICT use for teaching and learning and student-centered belief orientation for pedagogical belief. One of three had low-self efficacy to utilize ICT. ICT was integrated for effective and efficient learning, which means teachers' level of ICT integration was Amplification based on the RAT (Replacement, Amplification, and Transformation) framework. However, overall, teachers' beliefs orientation were positive belief about ICT integration, high self-efficacy belief, student-centered belief. Still, they could not reach the high level of ICT integration linked to creativity in teaching. They also faced some barriers in integrating ICT, such as students' engagement and the learning in the distance still incomplete. They missed the motivation or stimulation stage for their students and the students' learning process was lack of speaking and listening enhancement activities. Additional research should address more people as data objects to corroborate research results. Keywords: ICT integration, RAT framework, Teachers' Beliefs, Self-efficacy beliefs, Pedagogical beliefs
Islamic Female Clerics’ Preaching on the Discourse of Woman’s Body, Sexuality and Domestication: A Study through Transitivity and Appraisal Analysis
This text-oriented discourse analysis aims to evaluate and compare the language voiced by the two Islamic female clerics’ (Ustazah Aisah Dahlan and Mamah Dedeh) in their preaching as well as their stances towards the Discourse of Muslim Woman’s Body, Sexuality and Domestication posted on their affiliated Youtube accounts during this Covid-19 pandemic. The data (two video transcripts with the duration 09 minutes 04 seconds and 42 minutes and 54 seconds, respectively) were taken based on stratified purposeful sampling. Using transitivity system (ideational metafunction of language) postulated by M.A.K. Halliday(2014) and language evaluation theory (interpersonal metafunction of language) developed by Martin and White (2005), it was found that Aisah Dahlan’s preaching was dominated by attributive relational process and positive judgment in heteroglossic expressions to justify Muslim men’s attitudes and behaviors, whereas negative judgment in force expressions were deployed in discussing the Muslim woman’s body, sexuality, and domestication discourse. On the contrary, Mamah Dedeh’s preaching was dominated by the material process and positive judgement of sanction which indicates that husband and wife share equal responsibility in the household. Keywords: Ustazah, Text-Oriented Discourse Analysis, Muslim Woman’s Body, Islamic views on Sexuality, Domestication of woman, Transitivity analysis, appraisal analysi

It also seeks to see the Salafi’s attitude in general toward the state law of marriage. The materials of this article were obtained from ethnographic investigation that was conducted in a Wirokerten village in Banguntapan sub-district of Yogyakarta in 2018-2019 through interviews, participatory observations, group discussions. Deploying anthropological approach this article finds that Salafi women have notions to improve their rights, and they stress the importance of the maturity of religious knowledge. This article also argues that Salafi women identify themselves as Salafi agents by transforming authority to gain manhaj recognition of marital management as a source of strength and empowerment. In addition, it concludes that Salafi women have an important role in bridging relations of the Salafi manhaj with the state and that while negotiating state law with their own manhaj, they often need to refer to Islamic doctrines to base and strengthen their position. They refer not only to Islamic teachings but also propagate narratives of the significance of study and of being knowledgeable to do and thus to marry
