Maulana Tariq Jameel’s supplication for safety against COVID-19: A Pragmatic analysis
Supplication, the symbol of man's humility, is at the core of all religions, with Allah regarded as the Supreme Being who listens to people's prayers and rewards them accordingly, regardless of religion. The purpose of this qualitative research is to look into the unique service provided by Maulana Tariq Jameel to God for protection from COVID-19, which is currently wreaking havoc on people's lives. On April 21, 2020, the program was broadcast live on the ARY News Channel's Shab-e- Meeraj programme, hosted by Waseem Badami, and was available to watch online. Devout Muslims from all over the world gathered for a specially organised 'Dua' to demonstrate their heartfelt humility and unwavering faith in Allah, who they believe will alleviate their deathly affliction as a result of their prayers. The video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSRuAo14NEI provided the data. The data was assessed using Aristotle's three modes of persuasion. The researchers paid close attention to the supplication during the study and coded the most relevant phrases before translating them from Urdu to English and analysed them from a pragmatic standpoint. The discussion section included references to prayers from a variety of religious traditions from various countries to integrate the study's findings. The study's findings show that when individuals, societies, or nations of any faith face a major calamity, they are more likely to be prone to Allah for protection than to other sources of protectionKeywords: Du’a, Persuasion, Religion, Staunch Faith, The sovereignty of Alla
What Causes Non-Performance Financing? Insights From Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia and Malaysia
This study aims to assess the determinants of Non-Performing Financing (NPF), particularly in the Islamic Commercial Banks (ICBs) setting. It seeks to test the effect of financing to deposit ratio (FDR), capital adequacy ratio (CAR), and return ratio (RR) on NPF at the ICBs in Indonesia and Malaysia, being the largest Islamic financial hubs in SoutheastAsian region. The whole population were 13 ICBs in Indonesia and 16 ICBs in Malaysia for the observation period from 2014 to 2018, resulting in 142 observations. The period was selected to avoid the effect of COVID-19 pandemic towards the variables tested in this study. This study uses multiple linear analyses of panel data to analyze the data collected. It was found that FDR, CAR, and RR, respectively, have an impact on the level of NPF. At the country-specific level, for ICBs in Indonesia, FDR was found to have a positive effect on the NPF level, while CAR and RR have a negative effect on NPF. Meanwhile for ICBs in Malaysia, all independent variables, namely FDR, CAR, and RR have a positive effect on the NPF level. The slightly variation in the findings may be attributed to the different regulatory settings in the two countries which may need further evidence. The findings of this study imply that NPF determinants may have different influence in two neighboring countries despite they seem to share many similar regional characteristics. The findings also suggest that to maintain low level of NPF the ICB may need to focus on the attributes of FDR, CAR and RR

Abstract Pondok Tetirah Dzikir (PTD) is an Islamic boarding school for drug addicts from impoverished communities. These patients are classified as santri (students) and are eligible for six months of mental health services under TQN (Tarekat Qodiriyah Naqshbandiyah). The results of a case study on former drug dealers show that former drug addicts who have been rehabilitated at PTD have different characteristics than those who have been rehabilitated at other rehabilitation institutions. In comparison to other rehabilitation institutions, the subject never relapsed again after undergoing rehabilitation. This is due to the desire to do hijra, the desire to have a clear goal after rehabilitation, Dhikr with PTD alumni, friendship (silaturrahim) and mutual strengthening with PTD alumni, and aspirations as a penancer. COMBINED WANPRESTASI LAWSUIT AND AGAINST THE LAW REVIEW OF THE JUSTICE SYSTEM IN INDONESIA
Civil lawsuits are not only lawsuits for default, but are also dominated by lawsuits against the law. The difference between a breach of contract and against the law is that the claim for default is to place the loss in a position where the compensation given is the expected loss, while the lawsuit for the unlawful act of the plaintiff is in a position before the unlawful act so that the compensation given is a real loss. The results of the study show that civil lawsuits in the field are dominated by lawsuits against the law, besides of course the lawsuit for breach of contract. To file a lawsuit, the act against the law must be ascertained as stipulated in Article 1365 of the Civil Code, while to file a lawsuit for default, it must comply with the provisions of Article 1243 of the Civil Code. Based on this, the author examines it as a court that is simple, fast, and cheap in accordance with the law No. 48 of 2009 concerning Judicial Power with the concept of Merger of Lawsuits

Istiqra al-al-ma’nāwī; multicultural judicial reasoning
This article offers the istiqra’ al-ma’nāwī as multicultural-based judicial reasoning to answer the gap between the monocultural pattern of norms required by the codification of law and the multicultural based social-structure of Indonesian society. By using a legal philosophy approach, this study concludes that istiqra’ al-ma’nāwī is oriented to balance the interests (al-wasīlah) and the needs (al-ghāyah) as the basic framework for distinguishing relative and absolute values of law. The judicial reasoning style offered by istiqra’ al-ma’nāwī can be operationalized through moderating ethical contestation and formulating justice and legal certainty based on multiculturality. The operationalization is carried out through three stages: The first is konstatiring stage, where the judges use social reintegration as an optic to see if there is disrupted social risk, like identity superiority motives. The second is separating the original from the derivative goals. The original legal goal is to protect the rights of marginalized communities and equality, while the derivative legal goal is access to welfare and the rights of impunity. The third is konstituir stage, by considering the significance of social control outside the legal aspect
