Inflation Shocks: Quantile Unit Root Inference for Panel Data with Cross-Correlations

    No full text
The growing empirical literature documents evidence on persistence of shocks to inflation; however, little is known about the nature of inflation shocks with asymmetric persistence and cross-correlations. By introducing panel quantile unit root approach with common shocks for a sample of 75 countries from January-1980 to December-2022, this study provides new insights on the persistence of inflation shocks. The panel quantile unit root analysis sheds light on that (i) inflation appears to exhibit significant cross-correlations across countries at all quantiles, and persistence of inflation shocks shifts notably between low and high quantiles, reflecting asymmetric persistence in inflation dynamics, (ii) inflation rates tend to be mean reverting during low to moderate inflation periods, but more persistent in high inflation period, (iii) inflation becomes persistent at higher thresholds in countries with a history of inflationary episodes. These findings reveal the importance of considering asymmetric persistence and cross-correlations for analyzing inflation shocks

    No full text
Marital adjustment can be conceptualized as a resource of the family system or a part of the regenerative powers of the family. It is important to investigate marital adjustment as it is a concept that deeply affects the quality of life. In this study, which attempts to explain marital adjustment, regression analysis was performed on the obtained results. The data were examined with correlation analysis and regression analysis. According to the study results, there was a strong positive correlation (r = .76) between marital adjustment and spousal self-efficacy among the predictor and dependent variables. Martial adjustment establishes a high level and significant relationship with spouse selfefficacy, resentment-avoidance, marital problem solving, gender, marriage duration, having children and the number of children, income level, education status and place of residence. All variables (spousal self-efficacy, resentment-avoidance, marital problemsolving skills, gender, duration of marriage, having children, number of children, income level, educational status, and place of residence) explain 75% of marital adjustment

Abrank Surp Tavit Monastery: Documenting, Conserving, and Rehabilitating a Threatened Armenian Cultural Heritage Site in Eastern Anatolia

    No full text
Abrank Surp Tavit Monastery, situated near Üçpınar Village in Erzincan’s Tercan district, Eastern Anatolia, Turkey, stands as a significant yet critically endangered example of Armenian monastic heritage. This article presents a comprehensive study based on original data from fieldwork and archival research, documenting the monastery’s complex history, intricate architectural fabric, current state of preservation, and proposing conservation strategies alongside a sustainable adaptive reuse plan. Combining terrestrial laser scanning and droneassisted photogrammetry, the research provides unprecedented detailed documentation of the partially standing cruciform church, chapel, khachkars (UNESCO-listed Armenian cross-stones), and ruined auxiliary structures. Historical analysis traces the site’s evolution from a pre-Christian religious center through its foundation (traditionally attributed to St. Gregory the Illuminator), 19th-century restoration, and subsequent abandonment. The monastery faces imminent loss due to structural instability, material decay, environmental factors, and human-induced damage like looting and vandalism. Emphasizing minimal intervention and material compatibility, the conservation proposal includes structural stabilization, material consolidation, and sensitive reintegration of lost elements. Crucially, the study advocates for adaptive reuse as a “Monument Museum” and open-air exhibition, respecting the site’s spiritual legacy while ensuring its preservation and accessibility. This work fills a critical gap in the conservation of Armenian heritage in Turkey and offers a model for safeguarding similar endangered sites

Depth Defect Analysis of BaO Thin Films Doped with Cd Via Positron Annihilation Techniques

    No full text
Thin films of pure and cadmium-doped barium oxide (BaO) with 2, 4, and 6 wt% Cd were made using the spin-coating method and placed on glass at 450°C. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) revealed coarse, textured surfaces with BaO crystallites ranging from 1.4 to 150 nm in size, depending on the Cd concentration. Optical properties were investigated using UV–visible spectroscopy, revealing high transparency and direct bandgap energies between 3.467 and 3.728 eV. Defects were studied using Doppler broadening spectroscopy (DBS), which showed that there were different types of defects linked to oxygen and barium. A correlation was observed between the S parameter of DBS, crystallite size, and optical bandgap. Additionally, positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy (PALS) was used to study vacancy-type defects and verify the positron lifetimes connected to the S parameter. The results demonstrate that Cd doping significantly influences the microstructure, defect landscape, and optoelectronic properties of BaO thin films

    No full text
Background: Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that requires advanced diagnostic strategies for early and accurate detection. Methods: This study introduces a hybrid AI-driven diagnostic framework that integrates an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) trained on clinical data from 1,200 patients using 31 demographic, symptomatic, and behavioral features with a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) trained on 4,876 MRI images to classify AD into four stages. Results and Discussion: The ANN achieved an accuracy of 87.08% in earlystage risk prediction, while the CNN demonstrated a superior 97% accuracy in disease staging, supported by Grad-CAM visualizations that improved model interpretability. This dual-model approach effectively combines structured clinical data with imaging-based analysis, addressing the sensitivity and scalability limitations of traditional diagnostic methods and providing a more comprehensive assessment of AD. Conclusion: The integration of ANN and CNN enhances diagnostic precision and supports AI-assisted clinical decision-making, with future work focusing on lightweight CNN architectures and wearable technologies to enable broader accessibility and earlier intervention

The present study aimed to explore the relationship between the posttraumatic growth of women who were exposed to physical and/or sexual violence by their partners at any period of their lives and their perceived general stress level, severity of violence, interpersonal emotion regulation, and psychodynamic neurotic personality organization within Kernberg’s theoretical framework. A total of 146 women participated in the present study and completed a questionnaire consisting of the Demographic Information Form, Violence Against Women Rating Scale, Personality Organizations Inventory, Posttraumatic Growth Scale, Perceived Stress Level Scale, and Interpersonal Emotion Regulation Scale. The research data were analyzed using correlation, multiple linear regression, and independent group t-tests. The findings revealed that only perceived general stress level and interpersonal emotion regulation skills significantly predicted posttraumatic growth. Moreover, the results yielded a significant negative relationship between posttraumatic growth and identity diffusion. Furthermore, it was found that the severity of violence, perceived general stress level, and interpersonal emotion regulation scores of the participants with borderline personality organization were significantly higher than those of the neurotic ones. No statistically significant difference was found between these two groups in terms of posttraumatic growth. The results were discussed with respect to the relationships between posttraumatic growth and perceived general stress level, personality organizations, and interpersonal emotion regulation within the framework of violence against women

Historical and Contemporary Crop Yield Prediction Models: Key Lessons and Innovations

    No full text
Crop yield prediction models (CYPMs) are essential for ensuring global food security and sustainable agricultural planning. This systematic literature review compared the overview of historical and contemporary CYPMs evolution, challenges, innovations, and key lessons learned from peer-reviewed literature. The study analyzed peer-reviewed papers published between 2015 and 2025, sourced from the Scopus, Web of Science, and PubMed databases, following PRISMA guidelines. Twenty-three studies met the inclusion criteria and were evaluated for methodological quality and risk of bias. Historical empirical and mechanistic models offered valuable theoretical foundations but were limited by data scarcity and scalability. Contemporary approaches, particularly those using machine learning, deep learning, and remote sensing, demonstrated superior predictive accuracy (R² = 0.85–0.93) compared with traditional models (R² = 0.60–0.75). Key lessons emphasize the importance of data integration, contextual calibration, and expert validation. Persisting challenges include computational demands and limited applicability in data-scarce regions. The review concludes that hybrid, interpretable, and resourceefficient models are critical for improving prediction reliability and achieving sustainable, equitable food systems
