Application of Restorative Justice to the Crime of Sexual Violence against Women
Get PDFThis research highlights the background of Indonesia as a state of law, where state power is regulated by law to achieve legal order. However, the implementation of laws to protect women from violence still poses weaknesses that affect the sense of justice and impunity for perpetrators. As an alternative solution, the Restorative Justice approach is proposed to resolve acts of sexual violence by involving victims and perpetrators in dialogue and joint recovery, in accordance with the principle of consensus. This research uses the normative juridical method by analyzing relevant regulations and literature as well as conducting interviews at the Teluk Bitung District Police. It was found that the Restorative Justice approach can be a more inclusive and restorative alternative for victims and perpetrators of sexual violence. However, to implement it effectively, certain conditions need to be met, including admission of guilt, consent of the victim and perpetrator, and support from the police or prosecutor's office. The results show that this approach has the potential to provide a fairer resolution and have a positive impact on efforts to prevent and respond to violence against women in Indonesia
Upaya Peningkatan Motivasi Belajar Bahasa Inggris Siswa melalui Penerapan Team Games Tournament
Get PDFUntuk meningkatkan semangat belajar bahasa Inggris siswa di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Kota Sorong, kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat (PkM) ini akan mengadakan Team Games Turnament melalui permainan Kertas Estafet dan Pos Tantangan. Dengan menggunakan praktik langsung dengan siswa, ini menjadi pengalaman belajar bagi siswa. Mereka akan menerima pelajaran ini dalam ingatan dan pengalaman mereka. Melakukan wawancara dengan siswa untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang pengajaran dapat menghasilkan tanggapan yang positif dan dapat meningkatkan keinginan mereka untuk belajar bahasa Inggris lebih lanjut. Hasil tes lisan menunjukkan bahwa 80% siswa sangat senang dan termotivasi untuk belajar bahasa Inggris saat berpartisipasi dalam permanian, yang terdiri dari permainan estafet kertas dan tantangan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa menyukai permainan yang disediakan. Permainan adalah salah satu metode pembelajaran alternatif yang dapat meningkatkan motivasi siswa untuk belajar bahasa Inggris. Oleh karena itu, guru dapat memilih permainan sebagai salah satu opsi mereka untuk mengajar siswa bahasa Inggris

Pendidikan adalah kunci bagi Pembangunan yang berkelanjutan, Program Mahasiswa Merdeka ini menjadi wadah penting untuk menggali dampak penggunaan literasi dan numerasi pada perkembangan anak-anak di desa Karangwangi Garut. Program kontribusi sosial mahasiswa PMM Angkatan 3 di Garut merupakan contoh nyata bagaimana pentingnya literasi dan numerasi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Model Jerat dan Teknik Perburuan Satwa Liar oleh Masyarakat di Kampung Yaksoro Kabupaten Maybrat
Get PDFPerburuan tradisional dengan jerat adalah berburu dengan menggunakan teknik dan alat tradisional. Peralatan berburu yang digunakan sederhana, bahannya mudah diperoleh di hutan dapat dirakit dan dibuat sendiri. Kampung Yaksoro merupakan sebuah kampung di Distrik Aitinyo tengah Kabupaten Maybrat yang masyarakatnya masih melakukan kegiatan berburu dengan menggunakan jerat. Metode penelitian yakni metode deskriptif dengan teknik wawancara terhadap masyarakat dengan tujuan mengungkap tradisionalisme masyarakat Kampung Yaksoro dalam aktivitas perburuan satwa dengan model teknik jerat (perangkap) melalui teknik pengamatan langsung proses persiapan pembuatan model jerat maupun pemasangan alat jerat di lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model jerat dan bahan dasar yang dipergunkan dalam perburuan satwa liar oleh masyarakat antara lain jerat lontar, jerat kaki, jerat lubang dan jerat jaring. Bahan yang dipergunakan dalam pebuatan jerat adalah dahan kayu dari jenis kayu kuat dan tali dari jenis liana atau kulit kayu yang kuat. Frekuensi jerat 1-2 minggu, jumlah jeratan 1-4 buah, pemasangan sepanjang musim, lokasi pemasangan jerat kebun dan hutan, satwa tertangkap adalah 1-3 ekor
Translation Techniques, Methods, and Ideologies of Tiara Andini and Arsy Widianto’s Song Lyrics ‘Cintanya Aku’ by Emma Hesteers
Get PDFThe present research aims to examine the techniques, methods, and ideologies of translating the lyrics of the song Cintanya Aku from Indonesian into English. The song is originally sung by Tiara Andini and Arsy Widianto, and covered in English by Emma Hesteers. The present research employs a descriptive qualitative research approach with a focus on translation outcomes as the product. Data is gathered from the lyrics of Cintanya Aku in both Indonesian and English versions. Data collection involves recording and note-taking techniques, where the songs are transcribed into written form. Data analysis employs an interactive data analysis model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion/verification stages. The research findings indicate that eight types of translation techniques were applied, namely established equivalence, amplification, discursive creation, linguistic compression, compensation, linguistic amplification, adaptation, and modulation. The technique of established equivalence emerges as the most dominant translation technique applied. The translation methods tend to prioritize the source language by adopting communicative methods. The ideological stance adopted by the translator is domestication. Based on the application of these techniques, methods, and ideologies of translation, it can be concluded that the translator prioritizes audience comprehension in the target language
The Limitation of Google Classroom as An Online Platform in EFL Teaching

Furthermore, education is frequently referred to as the educational process. Information technology is a viable choice for structuring educational programs in the field of education. Web-based learning, utilizing the Internet as a medium, is a prevalent form of e-learning that is now being extensively explored by academic institutions. The Research Method section provides an in-depth analysis of the research methodology employed in this study. This text encompasses the examination of the research design, the subject and object of the study, the research instrument, the collecting of data, the analysis of data, and the verification of data for the study. According to Gay el.al (2006), descriptive research involves the analysis and description of factual information. The research process, as outlined by Gay et.al, involves several key processes. These include defining the research topic, doing a thorough assessment of existing literature, carefully selecting participants, collecting relevant data, analyzing and interpreting the data, and finally, reporting and evaluating the research findings. Objective: To ascertain the individuals who will be involved. Both assessments were conducted subsequently, once the pupils had acquired the necessary instructional content. English for Specific Purposes ESP: An Existing Resource to English Medium Instruction (EMI) Implementation in Indonesian Higher Education
Get PDFThe article reviews current issues in the internationalization of higher education in Indonesia. English medium instruction (EMI), especially when offering an international class, is closely related to the agenda of higher education internationalization. Despite gaining popularity, EMI implementation encounters challenges. The studies report challenges especially experienced by the lecturers and students. The research also highlights that such challenges are due to a limited understanding of the institutional stakeholders in providing necessary support to both key universities stakeholders. This article also argues how English for Specific Purposes, or ESP, can be a solution to the reported challenges in the implementation of EMI. Using the review of documented studies on EMI and ESP in Indonesia, the research in this article uses a descriptive approach to argue for the potential of ESP practice implement EMI programs in Indonesia. Qualitative thematic data analysis is used to discuss how ESP can provide solutions. Some implications include a need for revitalization of the ESP curriculum where nurturing collaboration between English language and content lecturers and providing ongoing teacher professional development (TPD) to the teachers are key actions
The Role of Correctional Institutions in the Development of Prisoners to Prevent Recidivism of Crimes in Sorong City
Get PDFAbstract : Correctional Institution Class II B Sorong is very functional in fostering recidive inmates where in the system of implementing correctional guidance is very necessary participation or participation of the Community, both by cooperating in fostering and being willing to accept back recidive inmates who have completed serving their sentences. This research is an empirical-normative research that prioritizes the results of interviews. The types of data used by the author are primary data and secondary data. The data collection techniques used are literature and field research in the form of interviews. Data analysis used in this research is descriptive-qualitative analysis, namely describing the juridical review of the coaching of recidive prisoners. The coaching of recidive prisoners at the Class II B Sorong Correctional Institution has 3 stages, namely, the initial stage includes the admission stage, orientation and independence coaching stage, from the coaching stage carried out by the Class II B Sorong Correctional Institution is in accordance with Law Number 12 of 1995 concerning Corrections or renewal of Law Number 22 of 2022 concerning Corrections. It's just that the implementation has not been carried out optimally due to several things, among others: lack of correctional officers in the field of religion, lack of health workers, and no surveillance cameras (CCTV), as well as inadequate facilities and infrastructure at the Class II B Sorong Correctional Institution. To the Correctional Institution Class II B Sorong to add Correctional officers and increase cooperation with agencies that can assist in carrying out the guidance of recidive prisoners so that in the future it will be even better
Overcoming Students’ Anxiety in English Presentation of EFL Students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sorong

Speech anxiety is something that is more likely to depend on specific situations and circumstances that can make a person feel uncomfortable or nervous when presenting in front of the class. The purpose of this study was to see what factors caused students to feel anxious when presenting English in front of the class and how to overcome this anxiety. The participants in this study were fifth and seventh-semester students at Sorong Muhammadiyah University. The method used in this study was a qualitative method using a qualitative description design. The number of participants with 10 students consisting of 5 students in the fifth semester and 5 students in the seventh semester. The instrument for this research was interviewed. From the results of 10 interviews most of the students were caused when advancing in English presentations in front of the class, lack of preparation before appearing, not mastering the material, not making outlines, and very lack of student confidence in front of the class. The way to overcome anxiety when presenting English in front of the class was carried out by students were, students must be wise, students must still think positively, and students must be very careful when presenting English, take a deep breath, drink water before presentation, be silent or take a moment before starting the presentation.
 
PERAN DKPP DALAM PENYELESAIAN PELANGGARAN ETIK PENYELENGGARAAN PEMILU
No full textThe implementation of elections is a fulfillment of the political rights of the people. In order to realize people's sovereignty, a code of ethics for organizing elections was formed which was under the authority of the DKPP. DKPP plays an important role in violations of the implementation of elections in Indonesia, this study aims to analyze the role of DKPP in violations of the implementation of elections. This research is normative legal research. The results of the study show that: The role of the DKPP in the event of a violation will be responsive and responsive to all complaints, as an example can be seen from the two decisions that the author analyzed even though there were results that rejected the complainant's complaint but all of them still went through the problem solving procedure. According to the author, DKPP has carried out its role based on the two decisions above. But regarding the sanctions against the accused, according to the author, it needs to be updated so that it will have a deterrent effect on the accused.

Untuk mewujudkan kedaulatan rakyat maka dibentuk kode etik penyelenggaraan pemilu yang dibawah kewenangan DKPP. DKPP berperan penting terhadap pelanggaran penyelenggaraan Pemilu di Indonesia, penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis peranan DKPP dalam pelanggaran penyelenggaraan Pemilu. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian hukum normatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: Peranan DKPP apabila terjadi pelaggaran akan tanggap dan responsif terhadap seluruh pengaduan, sebagai contoh dapat dilihat dari kedua putusan yang penulis analisis meskipun terdapat hasil yang menolak aduan pengadu tetapi seluruhnya tetap melewati prosedur penyelesaian masalah. DKPP menurut penulis telah menjalani peranannya berdasarkan kedua putusan diatas. Tetapi terkait sanksi terhadap teradu menurut penulis perlu untuk diperbaharui sehingga akan memberi efek jera terhadap teradu.
