The Future of Land Warfare
Predicting ‘Futures’ is a hazardous business, especially where it concerns the “Future of Land Warfare”. Militaries have mostly not been able to predict the future correctly. Yet, despite this dismal record, most militaries are seriously in the business of outlining the future as it would unfold a couple of decades hence. This is necessary because there is a lead time that is required to build what will be needed one to two decades later. This is certainly true of developing next-generation weapons and equipment, but equally applies to the development of doctrine, strategies and organisations that will be relevant in the future. The future we see is not “Black & White”, but many shades of Grey, as this article will explor
The State of Play of African Oil and Gas

The report paints a telling picture of the industry\u27s challenges and the impacts these delays could have.

China\u27s Stagnant Inflation and Youth Unemployment Woes Amplify Economic Concerns
China\u27s economic landscape faces two pressing challenges as consumer inflation stagnates and youth unemployment reaches alarming levels. These issues intensify worries about deflation risks and prompt discussions regarding potential economic stimulus measures. While China\u27s consumer price index (CPI) showed no change in June compared to the previous year, factory-gate prices continued to decline. These contrasting trends stand in stark contrast to the United States and Europe, where persistently high inflation suggests imminent interest rate hikes.

China\u27s Economic Scenario Amid Property Sector Turmoil
The burgeoning landscape of China\u27s economic sphere witnessed a surge in factory production and retail transactions during the month of August. However, this growth faces jeopardy due to a dramatic downturn in investments within the beleaguered real estate sector, which threatens to undermine the recent support measures showing signs of stabilizing the otherwise volatile economy. The predicament confronting Chinese policymakers is formidable as they endeavor to resuscitate economic growth following a brief post-COVID surge. This surge was ephemeral, given the persistent fragility of the critical property industry, a faltering currency, and feeble global demand for the nation\u27s manufactured goods
Small Modular Reactors: A Key Player in India\u27s Path to Net-Zero
As the world unites in its endeavor to combat the escalating climate change crisis and strives to achieve net-zero emissions, the spotlight is increasingly turning toward the burgeoning significance of Small Modular Nuclear Reactors (SMRs). These innovative nuclear technologies hold great promise as a vital component of India\u27s collective response to the climate challenge. As nations strive to fulfill the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 7, which aims to provide affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all, it is clear that decarbonizing the power sector is essential. With 82% of the world\u27s energy supply still reliant on fossil fuels, the transition to cleaner energy sources is paramount. Furthermore, the share of electricity in final energy consumption is expected to increase by 80-150% by 2050, emphasizing the importance of reliable, 24/7 low-carbon electricity resources
