The ageing population in India is increasing, which has led to an urgent need for sustainable livelihood opportunities for the elderly. This paper aims to identify the opportunities and constraints towards achieving sustainable livelihoods for India\u27s elderly population. Additionally, in this context, this paper attempts to explore the role of the new education policy of India 2020 (NEP, 2020) in enhancing the sustainable livelihoods of older adults in India. This review paper uses a qualitative approach to analyze the existing literature on elderly livelihoods in India and the provisions mentioned in the NEP 2020 to understand the challenges and opportunities related to elderly livelihoods. The review finds that along with many challenges, also there are several positive opportunities exist for improving livelihoods, such as skill development programs offered by the Government and Non-Governmental agencies. The New Education Policy of India (NEP-2020) has several provisions that can positively impact the livelihoods of the elderly population, the policy\u27s emphasis on lifelong learning, vocational education and training, digital literacy, and intergenerational learning can enable older adults to remain active and productive members of society, in addition to, several pension and saving schemes, and community-based initiatives, i.e., Elders\u27 Self-Help Groups (ESHGs).&nbsp

Access Point (AP) in Wireless LAN

The Internet has become part of everyone’s life through broadband or mobile network 4G and the currently booming 5G. India had around 92.57 million internet users in 2010, reaching approximately 932 million in early 2022. The projection is 1.5 billion internet users by the year 2040, indicating that most things in the future will be run via the internet. All said and done, do you know why we are observing almost zero buffering while we watch a YouTube video or download software these days? The device that has made internet connectivity reaches its pinnacle is a Wireless Access Point or WAP. Let’s discuss the role of a Wireless Access Point in a computer network so that the next time when you see your Wi-Fi not connecting or see a 3GB file get downloaded in under a minute, you can clearly point out that it’s because of Wireless Access Point.   &nbsp

Australia\u27s Duplicity in Indigenous Rights: A Tale of Land vs. Recognition

In the vast tapestry of human rights, Australia stands as a nation with a unique duality concerning the rights of its indigenous population. On one hand, it prides itself on its commitment to the rights of Indigenous people, and on the other, it rejects its recognition within the very fabric of the nation, its Constitution. This duplicity was starkly highlighted by Adani\u27s Carmichael coal mining project, where Indigenous rights over land and heritage took center stage while simultaneously, the nation rejected constitutional recognition for its Indigenous citizens, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. This contradiction illuminates a complex and troubling paradox in Australia\u27s treatment of its First Nations peoples

As we reflect on his life, we reflect on the opportunities that seemed within reach but ultimately remained elusive. Li Keqiang was a man who carried the hopes and aspirations of many, not only as a competent leader but also as someone who could have ushered in a new era of governance for China. In an era of complexities and global challenges, we remember Li with a sense of \u27what if.\u27 What if he had risen to the presidency? What if his leadership had steered the course of China\u27s destiny in a different direction? These questions linger as a testament to the potential he embodied. Li Keqiang, the President China could have had, but never did, leaves a legacy of unfulfilled promises. Today, as we commemorate his life, we acknowledge the significance of what might have been and the lasting impact of the road not taken

Default Waves Emerge as China\u27s \u27Shadow Banking\u27 Sector Grapples with Crisis

    No full text
An escalating crisis within China\u27s "shadow banking" domain looms as a potent threat, potentially exacerbating the challenges an already beleaguered economy is facing. Interestingly, a fresh report has cast doubt on the efficacy of Beijing\u27s government to intervene effectively using fiscal stimulus. Recent coverage by Bloomberg News, dated Wednesday, has illuminated that Chinese authorities have sought the expertise of Citic Trust Co., a subsidiary of the state-owned China Construction Bank, to undertake an evaluation of Zhongrong International Trust Co.\u27s current state. When Citic was tasked with a similar assessment for a prominent asset management entity in 2021, the subsequent outcome involved a substantial bailout package designed to avert the firm\u27s collapse

Spotting the Omnipresent ‘Emojis’ in the Contemporary Communication Paradigm: A Historical Analysis

‘Emojis are increasingly becoming popular in contemporary communication. Be it personal or professional communication or marketing communication, ‘emojis’ are there to be seen everywhere. It would not be too off the mark to say that ‘emojis’ have breathed a new lease of life into modern textual communication. From the inception of ‘emoticons’ as typographical expressions of emotions in the 1980s to the development of the pictorially rich ‘emojis’, text messages have evolved in form and meaning. However, it is equally important to understand that ‘emojis’ have not developed in seclusion and have been significantly influenced by concurrent global developments. What was once a pleasant textual break has become an art form. This research paper primarily focuses on the development of ‘emojis’ from their initiation till date, covering the major milestones. It also throws light on the primary platforms that are used for ‘emojis.’ Further, this paper deliberates on the newer ‘emojis’ and tries to decipher what is in store for the future. The Case Study method has been primarily used for penning this paper. Through this paper, the researcher digs deep into the various online platforms to discover rare insights on this topic. This paper is expected to delineate the history of ‘emojis’ and map their impact on the current communication paradigm

Enhancing Combat Capabilities 2035 with Affordable Defence Spending

It is feasible to significantly enhance combat capabilities by 2035, within the resources realistically available. However, aiming to enhance combat capabilities by 2035 cannot be done by merely presenting wish lists and hoping that funds will be somehow available. It can only be achieved if we plan ahead realising that defence spending has to be affordable for the nation. Other major countries are restructuring their armed forces with this realisation, and there is no reason why we cannot do so too. There are opportunities that can be seized and realised within the budgets available, provided we are ready to think differently. From historical service-specific and turf-conscious thinking, we need to move on to adopt a whole-of-nation approach in support of our national security goals. We need to learn the lessons of recent experience, and look at optimal trade-offs accordingly
