The study observes a significant difference in the awareness level of NEP 2020 among male and female teachers and students. Additionally, we observe that teachers with more than 15 years of experience are more aware and have a positive perception of NEP 2020. Similarly, PG and other higher degrees are more aware and positive towards the NEP 2020
Recent Structural and Administrative Reforms in India’s Ministry of Defence: Linkages between Military and Civil Administration
In August 1947 India’s independence led to the establishment of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) headed by a cabinet-level union minister with the military firmly under the control of the civilian leadership. In the past, there have been demands for reforms in defense, which had not been fructified for several decades. In the aftermath of the 1999 Kargil conflict, the Kargil Review Committee (KRC) recommended structural reforms in MoD. The Group of Ministers (GoM) analysed the structural and administrative reforms. The Chapter IV of the GoM report titled “Management of Defence” pointed to the need for “far-reaching changes in the structures, process and procedures in defence management.” In that context, the structural and administrative reforms of MoD, military affairs, security environment, and defence management have been a great debate since 2001. As India shifts to higher gears of growth and attain its maximum potential, there needs to be administrative reforms in defence as well. This paper will study India’s MoD and the patterns or nature of Civil-military relations. The paper also analyses the KRC and GoM which are responding to the great debate for structural and administrative reforms of India’s MoD. In particular, it will examine the recent reforms of MoD, the newly created Department of Military Affairs (DMA) and its linkages to the military and civil administration. The methodology will be adopted qualitatively to analyse the debate of reforms and the analytical method would critically examine the KRC report and the recommendation of GoM, which impacted the influence of military and civil administration in the MoD

The 10-page document, titled the Uniform Code of Pharmaceutical Marketing Practices (UCPMP) 2024, delineates a set of regulations for the industry to adhere to in the marketing and promotion of pharmaceutical products. However, despite the government\u27s efforts, there are doubts about the effectiveness of the UCPMP in achieving its intended goals
Revealing the Vast Global Gender Gap: New Data Unveil Wide Disparities
A recent report from the World Bank Group has uncovered that the gender gap in the workplace is greater than previously thought. When taking into account legal discrepancies related to violence and childcare, women have access to less than two-thirds of the rights afforded to men. It is significant to note that not a single country, not even the wealthiest ones, provides equal opportunities for women
Education Reform in India: A SWOT Analysis of NEP 2020 and its Interaction with Constitutional Values
India\u27s education system is at the cusp of transformation with the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP, 2020), a forward-looking policy aimed at modernizing the sector to meet the evolving demands of today\u27s world and revolutionizing how education is structured, governed, and delivered. This research paper employs a SWOT analysis to assess the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the NEP 2020, and its interaction with constitutional values in India. The paper aims to identify the key factors that impact the implementation and effectiveness of the NEP 2020, and its alignment with the constitutional values of India, such as equity, social justice, and inclusivity. The research methodology involves a comprehensive review of the NEP 2020 document and related literature and an analysis of the policy’s alignment with constitutional values and potential impact on education outcomes in India.
The paper concludes that although the NEP 2020 is a broad and ambitious plan for transforming education in India, its success in aligning with constitutional values and improving education outcomes will hinge on the efficient implementation of the policy. Additionally, policymakers and stakeholders must work together to address challenges and threats that may arise in the process. The findings of this paper can inform policy recommendations and provide insights for policymakers, educators, and other stakeholders to improve the alignment of education policies with constitutional values and promote more equitable and inclusive education systems in India
Ayushman Bharat Scheme: An Evaluation of Its Impact on Universal Health Coverage in Rural Madhya Pradesh
Ayushman Bharat scheme is the largest health insurance scheme in the world, launched by the Government of India in 2018 to provide financial protection to poor and vulnerable households against catastrophic health expenditures by providing coverage for secondary and tertiary hospitalization expenses. This paper studies the impact of Ayushman Bharat Scheme on universal health coverage and out-of-pocket costs in rural Madhya Pradesh. For the study four villages, Dhamenta, Baghora, Bilkisganj, and Amla, from two districts, Narsinshpur and Sehore were chosen. The research uses a mixed-methods approach. Primary data was gathered through a purposive sampling technique-assisted survey and interviews with beneficiaries and community workers, and secondary data from government reports, surveys, and academic literature was used.
The findings suggest the scheme has made significant progress in enhancing healthcare service accessibility, decreasing out-of-pocket costs, and improving health outcomes for the poor and marginalized sections of society. However, challenges remain regarding quality, equity, and sustainability, including challenges related to the identification of beneficiaries, lack of awareness, delays in the enrolment process, ethical issues, etc. This requires further policy attention and action. The paper concludes with policy recommendations for strengthening the Scheme and advancing towards UHC in India.
Factors Influencing Entrepreneurial Intentions of Youth in Gujarat: Does Attitude Play a Mediating Role
Entrepreneurship is multifaceted. Examining it at different levels encourages entrepreneurial behaviour. The process of starting a business involves developing entrepreneurial intentions and then constructing and running the business. Entrepreneurial intention is thought to drive entrepreneurial behaviour. Understanding what motivates and shapes Indian youth’s entrepreneurial intents is critical before developing effective entrepreneurship promotion strategies. This study empirically investigates the linkage between intentions and behaviour based on previous research on the characteristics that determine intentions of youth towards starting a business in Gujarat. A sample of 300 respondents in the age group of 15 to 24 years have been surveyed for the study using a structured questionnaire. The study aims at an entrepreneurial intention model to determine the factors that form adolescent entrepreneurial attitudes and intents while also considering the effect that entrepreneurial intention has on their entrepreneurial behaviour. It was tested using Smart PLS. Based on the theory of planned behaviour, researchers examined how personal characteristics, family support, government support, and education affect entrepreneur intent and made policy recommendations. This study makes a unique contribution by addressing a gap in the literature on the link between entrepreneurial intentions and perceived entrepreneurial behaviour among youth in Indian Context
Marching towards a Cleaner India: The Stakeholder Connect
Cleanliness in everyday life has been an integral part of Indian culture since time immemorial. Hence, a continual analysis of the stakeholder participation needs to be done regularly and the drawbacks and the achievements need to be delineated and worked upon. The objective of this study is to examine the efforts made by the various stakeholders towards achieving and sustaining the goal of cleanliness, the value creation therein, and the returns that may be expected, especially for businesses contributing towards this effort. This study is based on a comprehensive literature review on the role of multiple stakeholders, especially businesses, in the pursuit of achieving the holistic cleanliness agenda set by the “Clean India Campaign”. The conclusions of this study indicate the positive aspects of the cleanliness campaign participation by the government, citizens as well as businesses (with the various elements of their value chain), resulting in increased value and ensuring sustainability in the long term
