Mapping surface deformation using SNAP-StaMPS after Seferhisar-Izmir earthquake
İzmir, the third-largest city and economic center of Turkey, has been exposed to many natural disasters throughout its history. It is one of them in the 6.6 magnitude earthquake that last occurred on October 30, 2020. In this study, the PSInSAR technique was applied on 26 descending Sentinel-1 images between February 2020 and January 2021 to monitor the land change of the study area determined in Izmir. PSInSAR method was carried out with the SNAP-StaMPS integration, whose methodology is given below. The annual velocity values of the PS points produced in the study area in the direction of satellite view were found between – 68 and 32 mm/year. As a result of the study, it was observed that the most prominent surface change occurred in Çiğli and Karşıyaka districts. The points containing the speed information obtained from the PSInSAR result, PS points, and maps showing changes in the land were shared online to be used as auxiliary data in other studies
Usability of spent Salvia officinalis as a low-cost adsorbent in the removal of toxic dyes: waste assessment and circular economy
The removal of methylene blue (MB) and maxilon yellow (MY) dyes from aqueous solutions was investigated by an adsorption process using spent Salvia officinalis (SSO) for the first time. The operating conditions and mechanisms for the MB-SSO and MY-SSO adsorption systems were determined. FTIR-ATR and SEM-EDAX analyses were also performed to characterise the adsorbent. Optimum conditions in each system were similarly obtained, excluding pH (5.7 for MB and 6.5 for MY). The dye removal efficiency was 78% for MB and 56% for MY. It was observed that experimental data fits Freundlich isotherm (R2 ≈ 0.97) and pseudo-second-order kinetic (R2 ≈ 0.99) model in both systems. The maximum adsorption capacities of SSO for MB and MY dyes were determined as 16.53 and 11.79 mg g−1, respectively. The pseudo-second-order kinetic model revealed that adsorption efficiency was affected by a number of active sites on the adsorbent and the concentration of the dye. The thermodynamic parameters confirmed that adsorption was spontaneous, exothermic and physisorption in both adsorption systems. The results indicate that SSO can be used as a promising adsorbent material for removal of MB and MY dye from aqueous solutions. However, in order to remove high dye concentrations, SSO must be activated

were positive and significant (p<0.05) relations between seedling height and root-collar diameter in
transplanted and both treatments, while it was opposite for untransplanted seedlings (p>0.05).
Results of the study showed that transplanting treatment had positive effect on seedling quality and
morphology in the species
Investigation of class 1 integrons with antibiotic resistance genes in multidrug-resistant acinetobacter baumannii strains and determination of plant extract effects on multidrug-resistant isolates
This study aimed to investigate the presence of resistance genes in multidrug-resistant A. baumannii isolates as well as to determine the antibacterial activity of selected plant extracts against isolates. 41 strains were isolated from various clinical samples. PCR tests were performed using the primers. Methanol was used as solvent for the preparation of the plant extracts. MIC values of the plant extracts were determined by the broth microdilution method. The bla(OXA-)(23), bla(CTX-M-1), bla(CTX-M-2), bla(GES) genes and Class 1 integrons were detected in five isolated strains. The lowest MIC value (2.25 mg/mL) was determined for the Echinacea putpurea extract, while the highest MIC value (50 mg/mL) was determined for the Morus alba extract. Determination of the antibacterial effect of plants extracts used in the study against A. baumannii isolates shows the importance of screening the antibacterial activity of plants in the fight against antibiotic resistance.
Conventional and microwave irradiated synthesis, biological activity evaluation of highly substituted indole-triazole hybrids
In the present study, a series of new indole-3-carbaldehyde embedded triazole derivatives have been synthesized. 4-{[(1E)-1H-indol-3-ylmethylidene]amino}-5-methyl-2,4-dihydro-3H-1,2,4-triazol-3-one (2) were converted to the corresponding Mannich bases containing flouroquinolone core via a one-pot, three-component reaction. The synthesis of conazole analogues was carried out starting from triazoles by three steps. Reactions were carried out under conventional and microwave-mediated conditions. Various catalysts and solvents were tested to see how they affected conventional and microwave (MW)-induced reactions. The antibacterial characteristics of all the newly synthesized compounds were tested, and the majority of them showed good to moderate activity. The most significant result of our investigation is the high activity of fluoroquinolone derivative compounds that we synthesized as hybrid molecules
Stabilization and tracking control of an x-z type inverted pendulum system using Lightning Search Algorithm tuned nonlinear PID controller
Inverted pendulum systems (IPSs) are mostly used to demonstrate the control rules for keeping the pendulum at a balanced upright position due to a slight force applied to the cart system. This paper presents an application for nonlinear control of an x-z type IPS by using a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller with newly established evolutionary tuning method Lightning Search Algorithm (LSA). A single, double and triple PID controller system is tested with the conventional and the self-tuning controllers to get a better understanding of the performance of the given system. The mathematical modelling of the x-z type IPS, the theoretical explanation of the LSA and the simulation analysis of the x-z type IPS is put forward entirely. The LSA algorithm solves the optimization problem of PID controller in an evolutionary way. The most effective way of making comparisons is evaluating the performance results with a well-known optimization technique or with the previous accepted results. We have compared the system's performance with particle swarm optimization and with a classical control study in the literature. According to the simulation results, LSA-tuned PID controller has the ability to decrease the overshoot better than the conventional-tuned controllers. Finally, it can be concluded that the LSA-supported PID can better stabilize the pendulum angle and track the reference better for non-disturbed and the slightly disturbed systems
