    Guided Imagery to Improve Mental Health in Cancer Patients with Chemotherapy: Literature Review

    Aims: The purpose of this study was to review the research literature related to the use of Guided imagery on the mental health of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Methods: The design of this review is a literature review. Five quantitative experimental articles and RCTs were obtained from the database: PubMed, Proquest, Clinicalkey nursing, Science Direct, with the criteria of experimental articles providing guided imagery interventions for chemotherapy patients, published 2011-2021, in English and Indonesian. Results: The findings of this review article were guided imagery intervention, two articles combined PMR relaxation, and three articles carried out guided imagery with deep breath relaxation. The duration of guided imagery differed in some studies from 15 minutes to 30 minutes with various sessions either supervised or conducted independently with compact disc (CD) recordings. The results of the findings that guided imagery can reduce mental health problems such as stress, anxiety and depression experienced by cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Conclusion: Guided imagery is a practical, easy, and simple action that can be taken to reduce mental health problems in cancer patients with chemotherapy

    Aims: To explore nurse\u27s experience in caring of end-of-life patients in intensive care unit rspi prof. Dr sulianti saraso jakarta year 2021 Design: The type of research used in this research is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach Methods : The subjects in this study were fiven nurses in the ICU RSPI Prof. Dr. Sulianti Saroso. Data analysis was carried out with the stages of data reduction, data presentation and leverage. Results: Based on the results of research interviews, we found four three themes as follow:  1) Nurses have good mastery; 4) Nurse emotional control; 3) Nurse response toward end-of-life care. Conclusions: This study found that nurse experience positively while caring of patients in end-of-life care, even sometime they still need to control their emotion of being empathy to the patients’ condition. Comprehensive and continue training related to end of life care is require to enhance and update nurse knowledge and skill of end-of life care

    The Effect of Progressive Muscle Relaxation on Anxiety in Covid-19 Patients in Bandung

    Aims: Hospitalized patients with COVID-19 have been shown to experience high levels of anxiety, according to studies of their mental health, and yet these patients\u27 states of mind have been shown to play a significant role in boosting the immune system during COVID-19 treatment. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of progressive muscle relaxation on anxiety in patients with COVID-19. Methods : The research method was a Quasi Experimental pre-test and post-test design with a control group.  The sampling technique was Convenience Sampling with 40 samples which were divided into 20 samples as intervention group and 20 people as control group. Progressive muscle relaxation of 20-30 minutes twice a day for 5 days was only given to the intervention group. A pre-test and post-test using the Fear of COVID-19 Scale (FCV-19S) were implemented to measure anxiety. Data was collected and analyzed using Paired Sample  T-test and ANCOVA. Results: showed a statistically significant change in anxiety levels from pre- to post-test for those in the intervention group, but no such change for those in the control group. The significance level for this test is 0.05, so the square root of the mean is 123,578 (F = 115,479) and the standard deviation is 0.000 (p 0.0001). In the intervention group, there is a statistically significant change in sleep quality scores between the pre- and post-test, while in the control group, there is no such change. Its square root is 112.118, its factor is 32.315, and its sign is 0.000 (p 0.05). Conclusions: The conclusion is that anxiety in patients with COVID-19 can be significantly reduced by administering progressive muscle relaxation

    Nursing Diagnosis Frequently Enforced by Nurse to Clients with Ischemic Stroke

    Aims : This study is to find out the most diagnoses in stroke patients so that they can arrange appropriate interventions. Design: This study is a retrospective study using the descriptive anaysis. Methods :. The population of this study were all medical records of patients with stroke in 2018 - 2019 in Installation of Tanjungpura University Hospital. The study sample was selected using a purposive sampling method with inclusion criteria, namely patients with ischemic stroke, active patients undergoing outpatient care. The number of samples used was 100 medical record documents of stroke patients. The method of data collection is carried out by checklist instrument. Results : The results of the study were 6 nursing diagnoses that were often enforced by nurses in ischemic stroke patients, namely nursing diagnoses of . Impaired physical mobility ( 59 %), acute pain ( 24%), activity intolerance ( 7%), risk for ineffective cerebral tissue perfusion (5%), impaired verbal communication (3%) and impaired skin integrity (2%). However, of the 6 diagnoses, there were 2 nursing diagnoses written that were not in accordance with the labels on the 2015-2017 NANDA, however namely impaired skin integrity (100%) and impaired verbal communication (46%). Conclusions : It is recommended to increase the socialization of nursing diagnoses so that nurses write a diagnosis according to the diagnosis label used as a reference for writing documentation

    Implementation of Fetal Welfare Monitoring with CTG in Third Trimester Pregnant Women at Gatot Soebroto Hospital Jakarta

    Aims: This study aims to determine the implementation of fetal welfare monitoring in pregnant women in the III trimester carried out by midwives through the CTG / KTG examination at Gatot Soebroto Hospital Jakarta in 2022.  Methods: The Cross-Sectional research design was utilized in this study, and the sample size was 35 people. Chi-square was used for univariate and bivariate analysis. Results: This study found that the variables related to implementing fetal welfare examinations using CTG were knowledgeable (p=0.000). In contrast, the unrelated variables were age n (p = 0.135), education (p=0.752), and the length of service life of the value (p=0.136). Conclusion: Relationship between knowledge and the implementation of fetal welfare monitoring using CTG / KTG in pregnant women of the III trimester, then midwives need to improve knowledge and skills to support their competence of midwives, through training, seminars, and education to a higher level

    Aims: Hospital violence against health care providers, particularly nurses, is a significant problem in every healthcare setting in the world. The purpose of this study was to analyze workplace violence among nurses at an Accredited Hospital in Pekanbaru city. Methods: The type of research used in this study is quantitative research with an analytic descriptive approach. The sample in this study were the nurses in RSUD X and RS Y, amounting to 50 people. In this study using a questionnaire as a data collection tool. The questionnaire was adopted from the Texas Center for Nursing workforce studies regarding workplace violation against nurses survey. Results: The results of research at RSUD X found that 100% of respondents stated that there was no evaluation of the effectiveness of the impact of violence at work policies, 92% of respondents said they did not know about policy changes based on evaluations of violence prevention programs in the workplace, 100% of respondents stated that violence training in the workplace work is not provided, the results of research at the RS Y found that of the 25 respondents as much as 40% of respondents stated the availability of verbal violence policies from patients or visitors, 48% of respondents stated that the policy of preventing violence in the workplace was needed related to incident reporting, 36% of respondents stated that appropriate technical training is needed to reduce conflict, 72% of respondents 28 stated the availability of follow-up support such as counseling for nurses who experience verbal / physical violence. Conclusions: The results of this study can be used as one of the considerations in efforts to overcome and prevent work stress in nurses and as information for management regarding problems faced by nurses at work

    Mix Method Impact of Exposure of Inhalants Exposure “Glueing” on Street Children Community in Kendari City

    Aims: The results of the preliminary survey conducted by researchers before the research began and supported by statements provided by the informants, supported the researchers\u27 allegations and found that there was a phenomenon of inhalent abuse in street children in Kendari City, namely using fox and disgrace type glue to create a comfortable effect (fly) against themselves. Objectives: This study aims to determine the impact of chronic exposure to gluing inhalants on the community of children in Kendari city. Methods: This study uses the Mix Method, which is a combination of a quantitative approach and a qualitative approach with snowball sampling technique, the number of respondents is 10 people. Results: The research results from the physiological aspects, namely; Respiratory rate of street children who “glueing” on average is high, there are 2 abnormal people, Heart Rate of street children who are “glueing” on average is weak, there are 9 people who are abnormal, Weight and height of street children who are “glueing” in the categories are insufficient while the body temperature and blood pressure of street children who are “glueing” are all still within normal limits. Conclusion: There is a psychological impact from inhaling glue which makes informants feel hallucinating and make them feel calm. It is recommended to the Kendari city government that street children need special attention, because they are a group that is very vulnerable to the negative impacts of the environment and they need special guidance regarding impacts the physiology and psychology of gluing.

    Home-based Pediatric Palliative Care: A Narrative Review

    Aims: Home-based pediatric palliative care (HBPPC) seemingly would be a promising approach to support families whose have and take care for children with life-threatening disease (LTD) and life-limiting disease (LLD) in a holistic manner. PPC is not only provided in the hospital, but also delivered in the outpatient care; community settings, including hospice and patients’ homes. The aim of this study is to delineate findings from previous studies about home-based pediatric palliative care (HBPPC) for gaining information about the benefits of implementing HBPPC. Methods: Several search strategies, mainly using electronic databases, were employed to gain a solid body of literature constructing this article.  The inclusion criteria of the studies were English text, full text, and children as the specific investigated population which were published between 2014 until 2022. We used the Scale for the Assessment of Narrative Review Articles (SANRA) for appraising and establishing a robust body of literature regarding the topic and finally there were 9 studies included in this literature review.  Results: From reviewing the available literature, it is found that home-based PPC may be an ideal approach to care for children with LTD and LLD and their families. By employing home-based PPC, both patient and caregiver may gain several benefits to manage physical, psychosocial, and emotional issues, which enhance the quality of life (QoL) for both the patients and their parents. Conclusions: The implementation of HBPPC may improve the QoL of children with LTD and LLD, as well as their families

    The Description of Alexithymia in Nursing Students at Padjadjaran University with Social Media Addiction

    Aim: People’s inability to recognize and express their emotions (alexithymia) seems to be a risk factor in causing social media addiction, where the higher level of social media addiction, the higher level of alexithymia. This study aims to determine the prevalence of alexithymia among nursing students at Padjadjaran University who experience social media addiction. Method: This study used a quantitative descriptive design. The research samples were 216 nursing students at Padjadjaran University who experienced social media addiction after being screened using the IAT instrument, with a total sampling technique. The instrument used to see alexithymia was TAS-20 instrument. In this study, the data are analyzed by univariate analysis and presented in the form of frequency distribution tables. Result: The result of this study showed that less than half of the respondents, which were 94 (43.5%) experienced a high level of alexithymia, with alexithymia subscales average scores were 20,68 + 7.90 for DIF, DDF 16 + 5.54, and EOT 22,52 + 8.32. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that respondents who experienced moderate and severe social media addiction have higher alexithymia scores. Therefore, it is necessary to have preventive and promotive solutions for nursing students who don’t or have alexithymia

    Is Acupressure Effective To Treat Pruritus In Hemodialysis Patients? A Literatur Review

    Aims: Chronic kidney diseases effects make the pruritus prevalence in hemodialysis patients relatively high. Several studies have been conducted to determine the effect of acupressure on complaints of uremic pruritus. However, it is still debatable how acupressure relief pruritus complains regarding the duration of acupressure. This study aims to identify the effectiveness of acupressure against pruritus based on previous studies. Materials and Methods: An electronic literature search was conducted to identify studies that matched the inclusion criteria. The electronic databases used in this research are Wiley online library, Clinical key, ProQuest, EBSCO, and Google Scholar. The keyword used was “acupressure”, “pruritus”, “itch”, and “hemodialysis”. Results: We found 1,983 articles based on keywords, and five articles met the inclusion criteria after conducting the article selection process. Three of the four experimental studies measured pruritus using a visual analog scale, and one used a numerical scale. One study applied auricular acupressure, and four studies used acupressure. Four studies have shown that acupressure effectively reduces the scale of pruritus. One study showed no significant difference between acupressure, sham control, and negative control groups in two weeks of intervention in the severity of pruritus (p=0.66). Conclusion: Acupressure is effective in treating uremic pruritus and nurse can applied acupressure as a non-pharmacological intervention for pruritus in hemodialysis patients
