Self-Efficacy and Compliance Fluid Intake Restrictions in Chronic Kidney Disease Patients Undergoing Hemodialysis: A Cross-Sectional Study
Aims: Good self-efficacy will encourage patients to behave assertively and adhere to medication, diet, and fluid restrictions in patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis. However, nowadays, patient non-compliance with fluid restrictions is still high, which results in increased complications experienced by patients. The study aimed to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and adherence to fluid intake restrictions in chronic kidney patients undergoing hemodialysis at RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang.
Methods: This study used a correlation study design and a cross-sectional method. The total sample was 81 respondents. Using purposive sampling with inclusion criteria, patients routinely undergo HD > 3 months, are over 18 years old, and can communicate well. The instruments used were the Self-Efficacy for Managing Chronic Disease (SEMCD) questionnaire and the Fluid Intake Restriction Adherence questionnaire—data analysis using the Spearman correlation test.
Result: The results revealed a significant relationship between self-efficacy and adherence to fluid intake restrictions (p = <0.001) with a value (r = 0.703) which means the correlation for both variables is firmly in positive relation.
Conclusion: Nurses in the HD room are expected to be able to provide self-efficacy training to patients to increase patient compliance, the higher the self-efficacy, the more compliant the patient with fluid intake restrictions. Keywords: Adherence, Fluid, Hemodialysis, Self-Efficacy
Audio Visual Education Effectivity to Increase Knowledge about Anemia in Pregnant Women
Aims: WHO reported 36.5% pregnant women in the world experienced anaemia, which 75.0% of them lived in developing countries. It included 63.5% of them who lived in Indonesia. The highest prevalence of anemic pregnancy in Jakarta province was located in North Jakarta, that related to iron deficiency and nutritional status. Boosting knowledge and educating women about pregnancy had to be done effectively in order to get optimal output. Choosing the right educational media was an essential part of the movement. Audio Visual Education (AVE) was commonly use to educate people, instead of limited resources. It stimulated two human sense, sight and hearing, which estimated could increase learning process.
Method: We held a quasi-experimental study by gathering 30 pregnant women to watch AVE about anemia in pregnancy who were willing to participate and havent received any education about anemia via educational video. Exclusion criteria were being uncooperative, such as not watching the video completely and didn’t fill in pre- and posttest completely. We used purposive sampling to gather participants. There were pre and post-test ten minutes before and after intervention. We performed Wilcoxon Test to analyze the effectivity of AVE in order to increase knowledge about anemia (p<0.05).
Results: We found AVE could boost knowledge score in the third pregnant women statistically significant. Before intervention, average knowledge score was 56,7% which increased to 91,7% after AVE (p value=0.0001).
Conclusion: This study implied AVE was an effective media to increase participant’s knowledge about anemic pregnancy in pregnant women. Strengthening health literacy through planned educational programs would improve health behavior of individual and community

Factors Associated with Glycemic Control Among Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: A Cross-Sectional Study
Aims: Even though the prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus in Indonesia continues to increase, research data on glycemic management, which is the primary strategy for reducing complications of diabetes mellitus, is still limited. In this study, an evaluation of glycemic control status and related factors was conducted in adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Methods: This research was a cross-sectional study with 115 type 2 diabetes adults who came to the Hospital in Kediri for treatment. Data was collected using the UK Diabetes and Diet Questionnaire (UKDDQ) questionnaire, which consists of 24 questions and the Godin Leisure-Time Exercise Questionnaire (GLTEQ), along with a blood glucose check between July and August 2023. The glycemic level was assessed using a random blood glucose level, and \u27poor glycemic control\u27 was defined when the blood glucose level was >200 mg/dL. SPSS was used for descriptive analyses and inferential statistics by chi-square test to analyze the relationship between patients glycemic control status and its relevant risk factors, including demographics, dietary control, and physical activity.
Results: Only 26.1% of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at Aura Syifa Kediri Hospital have good glycemic control. In bivariate analysis, gender, education, control status of diet, and physical activity (P values 0.05) were significantly correlated with glycemic control. Meanwhile, age, marital status, employment status, and duration of diabetes mellitus (p-value> 0.05) were not associated with glycemic control.
Conclusion: The prevalence of good glycemic control in type 2 diabetes patients remains low. Based on this research, we found that gender, education, diet control, and physical activity were influencing factors in this problem. Publicity and education regarding the importance of glycemic control should be developed for type 2 diabetes patients, and targeted interventions should be made for risk groups
