. Significant differences in metal concentrations were found between the species
(P<0.05). In general, it was found that the levels of he
avy metals studied were lower than the maximum permissible limit of
the food regulations of
the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAFF), the Turkish Food Codex and Commission
Regulation (EC). Cd showed the lowest concentrations in all fish sampl
es followed by Pb. The results of the present study

düşük bulunmuştur. Kadmiyum tüm balık örneklerinde en düşük değerde bulunurken bunu kurşun izlemiştir. Çalışma

Estimating Wind Speed In Black Sea Region With Panel Data Analysis
Panel data analysis is a common method used especially in economic research and in other research in which time/unit relationship is significant. This study aims at predicting average wind speed during the years 2009-2010 in the cities of Sinop, Samsun, Ordu, Kastamonu, Bartın, Zonguldak and Karabük of Blacksea Region. In order to analyze the obtained data, of all panel data analysis methods, Random Effect Model and Fixed Effect Model have been used. Changes in Physiological Parameters and Some Antioxidant Enzymes Activities of Soybean (Glycine max L. Merr.) Leaves Under Cadmium and Salt Stress
The combined effect of cadmium stress (0,5 mM Cd(NO3)2) and salt stress (100 mM
NaCl) on growth, lipid peroxidation and activities of some antioxidant enzymes were
studied in soybean (Glycine max L. Merr.) leaves. Shoot lenghts were not changed under
all groups. But fresh and dry weight were decreased under salt treatment alone and Cd
treatment alone. The decrease was more in the group of combined of Cd and salt
treatment. Although APX activity increased under salt treatment alone and combined of
Cd and salt treatment, GR activity increased under Cd treatment alone and combined of
Cd and salt treatment. Nevertheless DHAR activity increased only in combined of Cd and
salt stress. MDA content increased under all groups but it was more in the combined of
Cd and salt stress which indicates that salinity is more harmful with cadmium stress in
soybean plants. Thus, it was concluded that some of antioxidant enzymes (APX, GR,
DHAR) increased their activity under combined of Cd and salt treatment but they were
not efficient to protect oxidative damage from soybean plants by alleviating the lipid
peroxidation

Nesiller boyunca süren bir göçün ardından Sivas’a yerleşen Azerbaycanlı bir ailenin evladı
olan Yavuz Bülent Bâkiler, birçok konunun yanında ‘ana’, ‘Anadolu’ ve ‘Türk Dünyası’ temalarının
öne çıktığı şiiriyle birlikte biyografi, deneme – inceleme, siyasi tarih ve gezi notları
türlerini içeren nesriyle de Çağdaş Türk Edebiyatı’nın en renkli simalarındandır. Esas itibariyle
avukat olan ve pek başarılı sayılamayacak siyasi bir kariyere de sahip olan Bâkiler, “Ana
Şairi” addedilecek kadar şiirlerinde ‘ana’ temasını edinmiş, gerek şiirlerinde gerekse düzyazılarında
işlediği Azerbaycan, Türkistan gibi konularla milliyetçi – muhafazakâr camianın gönlünde

in his poetry that he has been named as the ‘The Poet of Mother’, and has been favoured by
nationalist – conservative communities as a result of the topics like ‘Azerbaijan’ and
‘Turkestan’ he has used both in his poetry and prose. Another characteristic of Bâkiler is his
sensitivity on the correct usage of the Turkish language
The knowledge of teenagers about breast self-examination
Purpose: The purpose of this study is in order
to determine the knowledge of teenagers about
breast self- examination (BSE).
Methods: A descriptive study that was performed,
were included 841 students in the centre of the
Sinop. The data were collected via information form
consisting 12 questions. The collected data were
evaluated by SPSS statistical software version 14.0.
Results: Overall, 17.4 % of them were in 18-
19 age group, whereas 61% of them were in 15-17
age group and 76.1% of the participiant were mid
school graduated. However, 37.1 % of the participiants
stated that they had never heard the term of
BSE, where as 11.9 % of them stated that they had
taken information from doctor, 14.6 % of them
from nurse. Presents conditions related with BSE,
30.1 % of the participiants know how to perform
BSE and 86.6 % of participiants believe the benefit
of BSE on early diagnosis of breast cancer.
Conclusion: According to results of the study, the
ratios of state of being heard about BSE, knowing
how to do it, and believing the importance of BSE in
early diagnosis of the participiants were low
Improvement of anxiety resources scale of school-age children with oncological disease under condition of illness and hospitalization
Objective: This methodological study was
aimed to improve “Anxiety Resources Scale”
(ARS) of school-age children with oncological disease
under condition of illness and hospitalization.
Material and Methods: After obtaining prior
written approval, the study was conducted in Gaziantep
Kocatepe Primary School (GKPS) and Gaziantep
University Oncology Hospital (GUOH)
between May and September in 2007. The sample
of study was selected by using simple random
sampling technique from GKPS and GUOH. Totally
300 which school age children composed of;
80 healthy children sketchiness scale-test-again
for, 30 out-patients, 30 hospitalized patients and
160 healthy children joined the study.
Results: The reliability and validity coefficient
of “Anxiety Resources Scale of school-age children
with oncological disease under condition of illness
and hospitalization” was calculated as 0.92. The
analysis revealed that factors explained 52, 7% of
the variance. Results were evaluated with a significance
level of p<0.05 and confident interval of 95%.
Conclusion: The findings obtained via investigation
revealed that the scale of anxiety resources
of the school age children with oncological diseases
requiring hospitalization is valid and confidential,
so it could be used for such purposes
